Hi Gary, thanks for the video. The yarns you showed are very similar to Premier Yarn Puzzle yarn as well. They are located in North Carolina, so also North America. They deliver quickly to me. However, the ICE yarn had some wool content which the Premier yarn 100% acrylic does not have. A pleasure to see you today and love the vest Hank is wearing!! 💚

Hobbii has an almost exact match in the green/blue in a very soft acrylic the line is called "Fantasy"

As you know, ice is my fav go-to place for yarn. The extra fine merino is so dreamy and it blocks beautifully. I'm so sorry to hear of those extra third party fees.
I'm determined to do more projects in the extra fine merino - I do hold off buying too often from ICE, but I do know I will again knowing I'll need to tolerate the add-on fees from a third party courier service.
I love the Ice Yarns you shared!!! Very beautiful. Can't pick a favorite. I love them all the same. Just depends what I'm making and who it's for!!! I will definitely be looking at them for my next yarn purchase. I'm so stocked up on yarn from end of year sales and many of Crystal's patterns for several blankets and shawls!!! Wow Gary I’m very impressed with that Celtic knot design you put together on the hooded vest! Sorry I’m behind on videos- we’ve been busy moving into a new home. I was having fun setting up my craft space in our spare bedroom today 😊 I liked the colors you had in your ice yarns- the gray one was nice and I liked the stretch it had- I use a lighted magnifier floor lamp all the time when crocheting so I can see to stitch😂

I liked the blue-green-turquoise and the orange-burgundy colours.
The cable west is so beautiful 💚. Gründl has also similar yarn, it's called Colour Twist (Big Ball version, acrylic, 200g / 312m). I knitted a hat and scarf set with it.
These extra fees are really interesting...DHL has never ever charged me with extra costs..

I've heard the same thing with FedEx, DHL and UPs in the States, that they also don't charge extra for delivery. I wish we had the same thing here.

The teal is a pretty hank. OMG the orange puzzle is gorgeous. I thought the blue and green was great until I saw the orange. Then you showed the pink purple. I can't pick a favourite now.

Really like the gray tonal merino. Grays are my favorite neutral. I've heard a few UA-camrs say Ice Yarn weight categories are different than North American. Have yet to purchase from Ice. The puzzle yarns look interesting to work with.

I love Ice yarn. I think I get a lot of good deals. I swear they make most of the yarn for big box stores but I love their natural blends, not an acrylic lover.

You keep adding more yarn to your stash. Mine has been a quest to make many projects with my stash yarn and I have been making scrap scarves with some of the yarn with plans for a ginormous blanket in the fall and winter. I might make coasters with the other yarn I have in a tote in the garage. I am also making a baby blanket and a throw so I am busy with many WIPs.

Beautiful vest!! My favorite color is purple so any yarn that has purple in it is my favorite. Please show us what you make with the ICE yarns. Also another type of yarn that looks like the ICE yarn is Premier Puzzle yarn. I want to make a Christmas blanket for a friend of mine with The Premier Puzzle Shimmer but she has cats. I know the cats are attracted to shiny stuff so I will probably stick to the regular Puzzle yarn. Anyhow I just went off on a tangent. lol

I found the books I mentioned about the Ganseys. The main one is knitting Ganseys by Beth Brown-Reinsel and Alice Stanmore's Book of Fair ISLE. I also have Gladys Thompsons book but I used Beths book the most. Alices book is a treasure too. I hope to see you do a gansey. I said Id never make another one, haha. If you do start one, I will do another in solidarity! Mine turned out awesome thanks to those 2 books. The videos online are not really usable to learn. You should video as you go. There will be many grateful 1st time gansey makers that would thankyou!

I always enjoy your videos, Gary. Of the Ice yarn my favorites were the brown and blue and the orange. The Fantasy yarn from Hobbii is sort of similar.

Hello Gary! Hank is looking very snazzy. I think you missed The Puzzle yarns from Premiere. I think, there may be about 8 or so colors. That includes a Puzzle Shimmer, with a shiny thread running through it.
Yes - that is a yarn I happened to overlook as a great substitute. With all the yarns that I've pulled from my shelves for a good stand-in, I realized I haven't ever purchased a Premier Puzzle. If I did it's deep in the past.

Gary, could you give me a little instruction on yarn weights, like for fingering, sport, and such and what number they are. The only ones I really know are dk = 3 weight, worsted/aran = 4 weight and so on up. I get confused on the thinner yarns. Thanks! 💗🧶 I love those puzzle yarns! All colors are great! I think I have to choose the brown. And that steel grey hand dyed, WOW! I went to Ice Yarns website to look at those puzzle yarns and OMG I want them all! There is a pink with grey and brown! I wish I could buy the yarn and that people want and sell it to them.
Hi there - there's a general rule to the sizing with numbers and their counterpart names. Not all grading labels follow it exactly, so there can be surprising classifications on labels.
