I know this is an old video and it's weird I'm commenting. But, just wanted to say I liked your video. I'm planning a week-long solo on the NCT so I've been watching a lot of videos. At 5:45, I'm pretty sure those were beagles. Lol. Thanks for the video. Nice job.

Nice! Went from Alba to Mackinaw after I graduated in 2008. Everyone I encountered was like "You're doing what?!?" and "You came from where?!!?" Happy trails my friend!

Right On! My gf and I were just camping at 12 mile beach a few days ago and were right on the North Country Trail near Munising. We drove into Grand Marais to find a few geocaches!

Nice video. Looks like you had a nice time. I just found out about the trail yesterday. I'd like to hike the entire UP.
FYI, what you heard that day was a couple beagles. Probably running a rabbit or snowshoe hare. I love that sound.

Nice! I talked about doing that hike however will be doing Munising to Grand Marais in June. Grand Island is an awesome place to visit as well. I'm positive the dogs you heard were bear dogs. Popular area for bear hunters to run dogs.

Where did you say you saw those huge pine trees?? "Ducominence state...forest" is what it sounds like your saying at 10:04, i can't find any forest named that on the map.

I did this hike end of August/early September. The weather was really quite warm and for the most part the bugs weren't too bad since it was late summer.
Hope you enjoy your hike! The trail between St. Ignace and Grand Marais is beautiful.

Sounds like beagles running a rabbit to me.
