Tim Dillon is a saint for trying to help Schultz understand reality lmao
Kudos to Tim here. Andrew had a TERRIBLE take on the downfall of cities. The reason why places like Detroit and Buffalo went under is because our politicians made trade deals that shipped our jobs overseas for cheap labor in other countries. This is NOT inevitable,, it is wrong and we need leaders who will fight to keep jobs here in the USA. Glad Tim pushed back on the B.S.

The country needs to get serious about bringing manufacturing back into the US.
I'm from Akron I agree 1000%
Why did manufacturing move ?
Every politician will
Promise manufacturing coming back to the US and never deliver. Because it’s in their corporate interests to keep slaves in Indonesia making the products we consume.

White American Gen Z and millennials. I’m going to explain to you. Something your grandparents will never tell you. I’m going to explain to you. Why America is now weak and why China is becoming the worlds dominant power.
China had no technology, it was poor and basically undeveloped. It was white Americans who opened the doors for China. BUT WHY??? It was never in the white mans interest to awaken the great dragon.
Historically, white Americans would always go against their own best interests. As long as it negatively effected Black Americans. The HATE FOR BLACK AMERICANS is the root. To the self destruction of America.
Read this carefully. Whites Americans had strict all white immigration policies before 65. When Black Americans won civil rights in this country. That all changed. Here’s where it becomes deep. White Americans, rather than allow. Black Americans to have their fare share. Took manufacturing out of the cities(where black Americans were becoming the dominant populations) sent them to China(back door deal). Then flooded the Black communities with immigrants. To create a buffer class and buy up the self reliant(at the time). Black American communities economically.
Remind you, this time. Prior to the all white mass immigration of the late 1800s. They had to USE NON WHITE IMMIGRANTS this time. They understood Black Americans would never go for the all white immigrant buffer class again. Which totally threw Black Americans off, because we accepted these non white immigrants.
Civil rights, affirmative action, 14th Amendment etc we’re all supposed to be for the CHILDREN OF AMERICAN SLAVES. Not for every immigrant. That illegally pours into this country. The Nixon administration. Charged the civil rights language; to so called minorities. Now the entire world, can come into America, and claim it as theirs. Creating an entire new American way of life. All done in the name of cutting out Black Americans.
Thing is, white Americans thought everyone would go along with it(which they do), but the great dragon had way more ambition.
It’s has backfired on white Americans ten fold. The Chinese were NEVER YOUR FRIENDS. You opened your economy to them and they reversed engineered all of your technology. Infiltrated the entire society and now even own the president of the US in the open. A military general at the pentagon. Was caught giving information to the Chinese about trump. HE STILL WORKING. You can’t make this up. Now America has been sold to the highest bidder.
Young white Americans are looking at their country change before their eyes, but don’t know the root. It also goes a lot deeper than that, but that is as small as the nutshell I could make.
The hate for the Black American(FBA) is what has ultimately caused the destruction of America. That’s the truth and the only way to get it back. Is to do right by the Black American(FBA). Notice, I’m not talking about all Blacks. America owes no other groups and it needs to start acting like that again if you want it back.
THIS is why America is crumbling.
If this is an example of a conversation between adults in America - the problem is self evident.
True.
Andrew is in as much of a bubble as the women on "The View".

Thata why we need more investment in these communities. Austerity has failed
Yep, he's a really intelligent guy, but he's got a huge blind spot. When he admits to driving through and seeing tent cities, he misses the point that they're Americans too.
Shultz acts like a semi-racist white liberal. Not that he’s hateful but he’s above being bothered about n-word problems, sort of speak.
Hence, why “being more arrogant” seems like a great idea to him. He’s exactly like the typical white male Gen-X Democrat, in Portland.
Andrew was absolutely spot on about the downfall of cities.
If we live in a country now where everyone has to spend their money only for "the greater good," you just might have the answer to why we're failing as a country. The "working class" isn't entitled to the product of my labor, and I will never be entitled to the product of someone else's labor just because my skills suddenly don't matter.

@@darylhenry9595 I agree, but secular society has failed to replace that sense of community that religion used to bring to people.
In some aspects sure, less religion is great. In other aspects, less religion is no good at all. Even Nietzsche understood and wrote about this as an anti-religious philosopher. As an Englishman, I'll give my input here, a confident and arrogant nation is a double edged sword. We are taught that the empire is over in public schools, but close ties with former empire countries like Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Sometimes feeds the notion to some that we are still a powerful global empire, but the truth is we are just one strong country one among strong allies.
I will say we do have a somewhat nasty racist atmosphere in England, but the rest of the UK is better in that regard.
Our main problem is the class divide, we still have an aristocracy, lords and lady's, the rich and the poor, and the rich have always ruled, even now with the right wing tories , they serve the rich only, yet the poor still vote for them.
Also corruption is running rampant in the government, and the UK is on the brink of breaking up, with Scotland wanting out and to rejoin the EU and Northern Ireland talking about reunifying with the Republic. So England would lose the strength of its British allies to some regard.
Its a lovey place to live, and with a rich history, both dark and heroic, it definitely has a prideful people, and the good and bad that comes with that.
But we are definitely taught that the empire is over, at least in my experience.

Andrew had a real “aren’t the problems mainly on twitter” moment
The war is economic. I’m from Africa, most African countries no longer turn to America, The World Bank, or the IMF for loans and infrastructure deals. China is literally supporting almost every major infrastructure project around here.
It’s the same story you hear over in the Caribbean too. Due to this a lot of countries are having their loyalty bought by China. If china acted the way Russia did, majority of the developing countries will be quiet and support it the same way we used to be quiet and support America when it would invade other countries.
A lot of developing countries have been pretty quiet in regards to the Russia/Ukraine war to be honest. I think our media has a tendency to present European opinions as "World" opinions.
These countries are gonna regret it. China is intentionally lending money they know these countries can’t repay. They do this so they can control the key infrastructure of these countries when they eventually default. China will exploit Africa in a way America never would, and many African countries are starting to realize how screwed they are.
Well Russia played a major role in helping South Africa fight apartheid that's why most a majority of Africans don't give a shit about the Ukraine and Russian invasion, Europe has never been for us
China is hustling the Fuck out of Africa
I’m from Africa to I’m glad Africa is doing well I’m not a big fan of China really buying up everything is a problem
Tim is talking poetically about the deterioration of the middle class. It's beautiful. Schultz is sitting there bewildered. This is a simple matter of America being as strong as our average citizen. Opportunity is strength. Instead we are top heavy. The top earners are sitting around making their own rules and running companies more interested in their bottom lines than the health and longevity of their workforce.
That reason of the average class dying out in America is why China is becoming better, China's middle class over the years has increased and improved.
We need to foster business. Take emotions out of it. It makes sense to incentivize business and tax 1000 workers for their fair incomes than to ask the 1% to pay all of them. Along with just lowering taxes for everyone because our spending is such an absurdity. This doesnt mean I love billionaires and think they are generally good people, but you cant stop them from setting up shop overseas if you price them out
This is so scary accurate. Tim is spot on.
History has shown that once an empire starts to decline drastically then it's pretty much fooked.
And it's not just America that's on the decline.
The entire Western world is falling.
Power is now starting to shift towards the East.
We deserve it, for we brought this upon ourselves.
Yes but deserve it? That indicates poverty of morality as the cause of the disorder, very myopic view of the situation. It is cultural, geopolitical, economic etc and morality is just one small part of the beast.
@@bradmodd7856 with morale alone you could beat the odds
I really like Andrew, I don't think I've ever criticized anything he's done so far but, on this video,...He should watch it, sometimes we get too much in our ego and want to listen to ourselves talk...Let Tim talk, he was making a ton of sense.
Pretty amazing how people think the entire point tim was making was moral bankruptcy when, actually, his point was not having HEALTHCARE, well paying jobs, or having easy accessibility to these jobs leads to where we are now.
The 50s were great for the middle class because they could walk down the street and get hired to do a job that could provide for their family with no previous training.... my grandfather went from being a butcher to a boiler operator at a power plant and he started both those jobs with no background in those fields... when he retired in 1988 he was making $27 an hour, over six figures in today's money when adjusted for inflation...
With no prior training

Andrew, the rise and fall of cities did happen back in the day, but the way that wealth was reallocated was different. Back in the day, families making minimum wage could buy a house and live the American dream. Now a days the barriers to lift yourself out of poverty are so much higher.
Minimum wage will get you a nice tent by the dollar store and you can save big on batteries.
I am pretty old I never remember Minimum wage people buying houses. I remember Union workers going to the suburbs buying their houses from nonunion workers that built them. Minimum wage jobs for for the kids starting out. Most people weren’t buying the first house until they were in their 30s and definitely not a minimum wage.
1. Finish high school
2. Don't have kids before you're married
3. Get a full time job
If you do those 3 things you have a 98% chance to live above the poverty line in America. Minimum wage isn't the issue. It's people making bad life choices. Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be a living wage. It was meant for people just entering the job market and didn't have any skills yet.
Because our homes are an openly traded commodity now.
@@deepg7084 Minimum wage was created in 1938 by FDR to make sure families could survive during the great depression. So yes, they were created to be a living wage.
The people in control of America's destiny have zero horse in the race when it comes to America's success. They are multimillionaire international citizens of the world.
Dam Andrew you dropped the ball with this one I really wanted to see what tim was getting to he was in his bag
Very nice of Tim to give these guys some exposure
What Andrew doesn’t get is that when one city crumbles another pops up. But it’s an American city crumbling and a foreign city popping up
One reason I like JRE is because he knows when he’s an expert of something but also knows where to step back.
Great conversation. Kind of shows the state of affairs when comedians are having real discussions on what's taking place in this country. Chris Farley is on point again. . . I mean Tim!
Chris Farley could take a shit and it would be funnier than tim
People underestimate how damaging the government has been to the middle class. It's not just taxes either. Their regulations and programs and trade deals have made everything so expensive thats its virtually impossible to support a family like a man did back in the 50s
It’s was fucked back then too lol
Austerity has really done a number on us. And I dont know about other fields but deregulation is actually what destroyed the trucking Industry
Naw, we just need more American arrogance. 😂
and then there's AI...
one word: feminism
The thing is, when Detroit goes down, when Cleveland goes down, Beijing goes up, Xianling goes up. When we pay other countries to do what we used to do, any way you slice it, we are taking money that used to stay in this country and shipping it overseas. I think history has taught us that without a robust future for unskilled, but highly productive, labor, every other section of the economy, with the exception of the investment class suffers. Middle class people don't fly to Paris, they vacation in Palm Beach, and spend their money in America.
the entire time im thinking this, he's completely right another city always pops up the issue is it wont be an American one.
Not just this, it's the taking of intellectual property by transferring the manufacturing there. They learn about the products, how they work and how they are put together and then make their own and the US cannot take them to IP court. The best you can do is place a tariff on their goods.
It's impossible to keep climbing as a country.
This is honestly a super important discussion and I think they handled it relatively well.
Don't think you'll find many Brits that still think the British Empire is still in late 1800's to early 1900's full swing.
agreed, wtf is he talking about?
They have been taught to think like that ,just watch any bbc history program or archeology program.people have been taught to be proud instead of embarrassed by tyranny.
He’s a comedian, don’t take what he says seriously lol
@@jkdruid Weird take but ok. I'm a British citizen, moved to the US in 1994 when I was 11, I'm proud of my British heritage but I also understand it was very different times and lots of horrible things happened and I have no problem acknowledging the atrocities and understanding my nations part in that while also highlighting how amazing my nation was and all the incredible things they did and accomplished. I do the same with the US as I've lived here for most of my life now, 28 years I've lived in the US, my kids are all born here my wife is American and while I'm still a British citizen I love this country too but I can also point out all the fked up things that happen and have happened here just like I can with my own country of origin.
I also have the unique perspective of being able to have the outside and insider view of America and the UK, I've had to deal with a lot of American arrogance and ignorance over the years when I moved here and had an English accent, not so much now that I sound like anyone else here and if I tell someone I'm a British citizen today they don't even believe it lol
I'm British and yeah, of course Brits know the empire is over. We do know we have decent economy and speaking English makes life easier.

One thing that wasn’t discussed was the mega corporation’s role in American decline. They are currently raising prices through the roof and claiming CoViD sUpPlY ChAiN iSsUeS, but in reality they’re making record profits. Likewise for gas/petroleum companies. American corporations have pulled out the chair on the social contract in America. They benefit from Americans being apathetic. They now control our government. This ish is straight up by design!
And what's more pathetic is corporate America has you right by the balls. Because for every solution to those problems Corporate America has you Americans conditioned to scream "Bruh but communism!!"
@@otmanh They don't have solutions though. The same politicians that are imbedded with corporations are the same ones we're dependent on to run the public end.
@Top Lobster Whoa!! Your math is horrible, what are you talking about?
@@henrylicious my point exactly…. the Dems & Republicans are both in bed with corporations. Neither Biden nor Trump are the answer. We need someone new, non-partisan, who will unite the country and rebuild the middle class!

Springsteen is an iconic American guy, however if you listen to Springsteen's most famous song "Born in the USA" it is actually a anti American propaganda song. The irony is, when people just listen to the chorus, they think it's Pro American.

I love Tim so much. He's the best imo hands down.
No. We don’t need a new Springsteen…. We need a new Lincoln, Washington, or Kennedy. We need a social cultural icon that is based on their intellectual and policy merit that can unite the middle of the country under a proud (but realistic) history, to drive us through the rough waters that lie ahead
We need a new t pain or ludacris. To rap at my nephews barmitzvah. Ludacriz in da house and got lotsa cheeze.
You reckon it's still possible to achieve that kind of unity with just a social cultural icon? Not an American, but I do have family living there. It's sad to see how you guys got sucked in by politics so much. To a point where it allowed hate to exist between fellow Americans. My own family suffered from this too and split into two camps.
It's a level of tribalism that seems to surpass the one you see in sports. Seeing that lack of unity on a micro level doesn't seem to be a good sign to allow it to happen on a macro level.

America had it's day. We achieved great things in a short amount of time. It wasn't meant to last, and that's fine. It's fine to sit here and acknowledge it, but one shouldn't dwell on it and be sad. Go out and live your life and take care of things within your control. Money, power, greed and corruption will always destroy a country no matter how big or small. We'll be a fascinating subject to study in a few hundred years, much like we are still studying the roman empire.

We accomplished it off the backs of immigrants raised elsewhere and educated elsewhere. The entire country is a corporation and it exists off of trust not material production. The entire world and especially Europe is being put in a very bad position due to having to prop up American debts and bolster their academic and industrial sectors. Americans hate everyone but there is nothing that they hate more than themselves and you see it. There would never be any civil war it is just passive aggressive but still dangerous you have a lot of people being forced to die to keep an old way of thinking in place that is clearly leading to nowhere.
@@jamesbra4410 Bruh, the United States already had one Civil war and it was pretty devastating.
Heck, the USA never really got past the division leading up to the Civil War and when it was over.
Especially with its binary voting system that really only binds you to 2 political party choices, both of whom are extremely terrible and non-responsive to the needs of the masses.
What makes you think another Civil war cant happen?
I watched this clip for Tim… there’s a bubble where 99% of people in the higher socioeconomic status group have no clue what the hell is really happening to the “unfortunate poors” (who are often brown and black here in the US). This country is absolutely divided. The professional class (a.k.a. the elite class in power in DC and on Wall Street) has made the divisions far worse through their greed and incompetence. This will change when there’s a revolution of one kind or another. And it’s impossible to predict what specifically will light the fire that forces the elites in power to enact real change for the masses. Hint: it won’t be the useless culture war garbage that the visionless and corrupt politicians keep throwing out there as red meat for the gullible and ignorant to scarf down…

This is the wrong time to try to boast about "real" politicians being better at making deciscions. And what does "almost hate" even mean ? You thought that would get you out of a jam ? And what's the deal with naming ALL of the media platforms as if you are communicating with the REAL smart people secretly via ham radio. Uncanny how "semi" lol intelligent people are always unreachable in their very VERY small ponds. You need to come up with something better, pal.
@@terjehansen0101 Lol, it never ceases to amaze me that people like you very much exist and manage to find a way to form the most convoluted and incoherent replies to comments. But here you are. So first off, WTF are you talking about? You come out the gate swinging with accusations about ""real" politicians being better at making decisions." Who TF said anything about that? Are you illiterate? Like, seriously, WTF are you talking about? You even put the word "real" in quotations. Do you actually even know what quotation marks are meant to do? If you are going to sling sh** it might help to have actually read the comment before opening your mouth. Secondly, "Almost hate" means literally what it says. To almost hate something. As in, I heartily dislike but do not hate. A negative feeling towards someone or something exists on a spectrum. I dislike eggplant but I hate murder. Somewhere within that spectrum you can find many varying degrees of emotion. Thirdly, much like emotion, intelligence also runs on a spectrum. Someone like you is clearly on the lower end which is totally fine. I don't think less of you for that. It does, however, mean that I have significantly less tolerance for someone like you and your opinions when you go looking to be a troll. We don’t live in a Caste system, we live in a Class system. The main difference is that in a Caste system, there is no upward mobility, you’re forever stuck where you were born. In a class system the class you’re in is only determined by how much money you have. In a class system there are opportunities to leave your class for a higher one by growing your own success. In a Caste system you’re pretty much locked into whichever tier you’re born into. That’s why so many people come to the US for opportunity because they can rise above the positions they were born into.
