I really enjoyed this video without the talking. Very calming and relaxing to watch while you prep your skeins. I have always loved winding the yarn . It's just therapeutic as you prepare for your project. More of these...yes please ❤
I love this style of video! While I enjoyed the music, I personally feel that music without lyrics work a little better for this format. Or even just softer music, not so loud, so we can hear your working a little better over the music.
I love this style of video! It is great to turn on while I’m working from home and gets me excited to log off for the day and knit! I love your regular videos too though, you are fantastic!
Hey Natalie, yes, this is a very relaxing video. I love watching it while i crochet/knit. Definitely would love to see more of this kind of video. Thank you for taking your time to do this. *Thumbs up*
Can't wait to see What you decide on for the colours. Maybe the purple is the issue? I'm not good with colour so could be totally wrong! I liked the style, but not the background music. I also found it was a bit loud compared the the other sounds. Maybe no lyrics?
I loved this so much. Would love to see more of these sprinkled in with your regular stuff. Also my 2 cents is it’s the yellow throwing things off. Maybe replace that one OR find another color that brings that shade in more. Maybe a green? I’m confident you’ll figure it out though and I look forward to seeing your decision.
Love the colors you’ve chosen. My own opinion is that for me it’s the dark color throwing the others off. It could also be the yellow though. It’s such a beautiful rich yellow but maybe is too rich for the lighter colors. I hope you find the combo that works for you!! Loved the video ❤️
Since I tend to listen to videos more than watch as I'm cleaning, knitting, or child caring (that's a verb, right?), I prefer the talking videos so I don't miss anything, but I do enjoy the calmness of this video and I'll still watch. I think the problem might be the contrast across the yarns. If you look at your colors with a B&W filter, the dark pink stands out, the yellow is the lightest (and yet the brightes in color), and the other three all very similar and very close to the yellow. Something a bit darker (via the B&W) but not quite as dark as the dark pink might help balance it.
I really liked that you showed that you weren’t really satisfied with your colors! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has those issues from time to time! Good luck, I’m sure whatever colors you end up choosing will be fab!
I love both types of videos!! Talking vlogs keep me company when I’m working and wanting “a friend” to listen to. The mainly music videos are great for when I’m needing to relax more, when I just want to listen to something. I want to watch the video, what need to have something vanilla/plain knitting, or something I really don’t need to concentrate on so that I can follow along. Talking videos help me keep up with what’s going on when I’m not necessarily able to watch the whole time. I can’t wait to see what you’ve decided on for your shawl. That is one of a few reasons I don’t like mkals, I don’t want to hate it half way through and wish I used the yarn else where.
Fun video! It’s nice to still have some commentary tho. With your color choices, I read that Stephen recommends having a mix of light, medium, and dark colors. Looks like your burgundy was your only dark, so maybe get another one in there? And then switch out for a lighter with one of your others since the rest all felt medium. Does that help? Hope it makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
this was a great video too Natalie. very nice on a cloudy day. i was hoping you were going to re-think your colors.... i knew you would see it once you were knitting them up for a swatch. i think you have the right thing in your stash.......dont panic- you always will know it when its right. hi to Toaster. he is such a calm knit buddy.
Like this format. Very relaxing 🤗🤤😎😊🤔🥴😍😇 The range of emotions excitement and beauty in what’s going to be, let’s our eyes decide how we all of us choosing from stash and not buying a predicted color combinations that someone else choose to go together. It’s glorious fun and I am so excited 😆 as well.
Although this isn’t technically a tutorial, this is the closest thing I’ve found to a “Color Sequence Swatch” tutorial. I’m currently swatching to figure out which fading sequence I like best using 3 colors. There are 6 Permutations (possible variations a number of items can be arranged) using 3 colors. That means working up 6 swatches! Using the lazy colorway swatching method by wrapping the yarn around something to see how the colors look next to each other doesn’t show how the colors will actually look fading/blending/melting into one another. I’m determined to find a more efficient way that won’t use up so much time and yarn on swatching💪🏼
I loved this video!! I love your usual videos, too, but this was so nice to listen to and watch while knitting during a quick lunch break on an otherwise hectic workday. So relaxing. Sometimes you don't need to chat when hanging out with friends!!!
I loved this style but love you others as well. May I ask, I did look in the description but didn’t see it, what brand yarn winder is that? I really want a wooden one since it will be on display when I’m not using it.
Hi Natalie this was a lovely gentle start to the day for me I think an occasional gentle one would add to your blend of podcasts. I hope you find a colour palate for your shawl that you are happy with. I struggle with putting colours together for large projects Can’t wait to see what you decide
I loved it as a change of pace. I also liked that you didn't cut out the background noise. So relaxing while knitting. Good luck deciding on colors - so hard.
Love this video! Also really love your other videos, since I have quite nailed down knitting without looking. Love the colors of your shawl, I agree it may be the yellowing throwing it off or perhaps the darkest one. Can’t wait to see what you pick!
This was a nice relaxing video. But I like hearing you talk too. Listening to you puts me in a good mood 😄 I’m very curious to see what you come up with color wise!!
Time to take the swatch and hold it up to different colors of sweaters, etc you have. That may give inspiration for which color to swap out and new one to bring in. Trying to get at least one of the sweaters in the wip rotation done before Friday’s shawl cast on.
I liked this version and the music too but also like your regular podcasts. It reminds me of your Christmas vlogs. Curious to see what your final color choices are. Take care, Kris K from CT 🧶🌻🌞
i love this style of video and please post more vids like this! I think the darker pink is throwing it off since all the other colors are lighter except that one. Maybe you could replace it with peachy color or a lighter version of the darker color?
I think it might be the purple-gray color that you used at the end of the swatch. All your other colors are warm toned and bright and that one is cooler and subtle. You might be able to use a cream color instead if thats something that you like! But I can’t wait to see what you choose!
Liked the other way the best, but this one Is good once in a while. Wont stop watching tho...sunny and nice here in Iowa today. Beautiful fall day. Good for setting on the deck and knitting, enjoying the weather.
the 3 mid colours are all very similar contrast, I personally would take out the purple! the “3 in a colour family + 2 pops” works here, red-orange-yellow contrast gradient and a bright pink + _____ maybe a blue?
i love the calmer type video. i was able to focus on a part of my project that requires more brain power, while also keeping up with what was happening in the video. on the colors, i think it’s a combination of the yellow and purple that throws it off. yellow at purple are opposite the color wheel, which means they should work together, but the difference in tone throws it off. i personally would get rid of the purple and exchange it for something a bit more pigmented. i would try to do for either a blue or darker purple, if not a dark grey. red, orange, and green wouldn’t work too well and doing another shade of yellow would take away from the brightness of the other yellow.
I would keep the yellow and the deepest pink, maybe the orange, add aqua, and perhaps cream or gray. Whatever I chose, though, I would photograph in black and white to make sure they're not too tonally similar. If any of them are, I'd make further changes, then try another sample. I enjoyed this video, but I also like your regular ones. A mix of both?
Please advise what kind of winding tools you are using and include a link of possible on where to buy them. Thanks as they are smooth to use. Love you project bag as well so include any info for it as well. Thanks
Loved this kind of video! It was the perfect video for me while I'm working on my tubular bo of my fallgarmentmal sweater! So sad about your colors... I think it's the orange? I think you need a deep contrast to sub out that one, something really dark
Loved this video, but when we looked out the window , did I feel dizzy is it good living that high up , and I noticed we always film in the bedroom , have you any other rooms , just love your podcast , and loved the colours chosen stay safe xx and thanks for sharing
The visuals were all great, loved watching you open your room to the city view and of course Toaster is always fun to see but I watch UA-cam for the energy and "interaction" with the Podcaster. I too don't always knit without looking at my work so when you are talking I know whether you are showing a project or yarn I want to see. I prefer your energy, it makes me feel like I'm with a friend. (BTW, I think you need another dark in your color choice in your Shawlography to balance your beautiful pastel colors) Happy knitting! *)
I love this kind of video! Maybe you could do something similar for future cast ons? So people who don’t like it won’t miss all the info about the project?
Totally different vibe and I think an interesting exploration with what ended up happening. Would love if you credited the music when it is going to feature this heavily in the video. How many cameras did you have up? Was Kent filming or did you reset each angle?
I liked this a lot. I think you did a lovely job and your room is so pretty for videos like this. But personally I like listening to you talk about stuff a bit more. Feels like I’m hanging out with someone who gets as excited about knitting as I do.
New subscriber here! Love this style of video so relaxing while I was getting ready for work, on the hunt for a yarn ball winder and umbrella swift, just started purchasing hand dyed yarn and I’m obsessed 🤩 don’t have a lot of room for one that’s large and permanently sits somewhere, need something compact 🤔
just a thought on your colors - only because you said you weren't sure about them - what about a darker purple instead of your Lavender? I pulled from stash but am not sure about the shawl now (after seeing clue 1 video today) so might not join. I loved your colors but think that purple might work!
Love this style of video, so relaxing and almost hypnotic 🥰 I’m feeling you on your color choice …. I’m having doubts about mine too 🥺 oh well still have plenty of time ….don’t we 😳😳
I think you need a dark. I think that a couple of brights a medium and the a deep jewel tone. I wondered when you were choosing your yarn that it was to close in a color family to add that yellow. If you want to keep the bright pink tones either add neutral like cream or a deep shade of the pink or a purple. A lightly speckled yarn he said was ok, so cream with your pink family speckled would add rest for your eyes.
I really liked this video really relaxing but I had to pay alot of attention to what was going on. I also missed you talking lol. Can't wait too see the colours you choose I would t be able to do it. I've heard of people using the colour spectrum or taking photos in black and white to see if they go but it's way too much for me to compute
It's cool that you tried a different kind of video, but I prefer your other style better. I missed the interaction. Can't wait to see how you figure out your colors. I think you were on the right track with adding a black or dark gray. I think you need more contrast.
Natalie, I loved this video for a change, but I really love your regular videos too! I’m sorry you don’t like your color choices. This is so frustrating. I know because it happens to me a lot! I know you will find the right colors and your shawl will be so beautiful like all of your other projects!!!
Loved this video it was very relaxing, but dont stop your other videos! I think it might be the yellow thats too bright with the others? Hope you find a solution 😄
Video was relaxing but I would prefer some talking also, I need to look down at my work fairly often 😁
Love the video style; it's good to have variety! Can't believe you left us on a cliffhanger about the yarn though, lol.
This was exactly what I needed this morning. I think it'd be cool to do a little bit of both :)
I love this style of video! It is great to turn on while I’m working from home and gets me excited to log off for the day and knit! I love your regular videos too though, you are fantastic!

It’s a gloomy dark rainy day here in GA. Thank you for this video, it certainly brightened my day.
Love it! I needed something calming to watch today while working on my knitting. But please continue your Q and A videos. So informative
Oh I loved this video! Exactly what I needed after a stressful day. Can't wait to see what you decide for the colours. X
Love it 😍. It was so calming, especially with your music choices. Hope you find the colors that speak to you.
Way to leave us on a cliffhanger! lol Great video, Natalie! Can't wait to see what colors you end up using.

I love this style of video ❤️. My unsolicited two cents: I loved the turquoise cakes yarn that you held with your shawl.
I love both ways,, but really like when you talk to us😃 and can’t wait for the continuation

I loved this video!! I love your usual videos, too, but this was so nice to listen to and watch while knitting during a quick lunch break on an otherwise hectic workday. So relaxing. Sometimes you don't need to chat when hanging out with friends!!!
I enjoy both. Thanks you so much for sharing your MKAL journey
This was a very nice video, Natalie. I enjoyed just watching and listing to the music. But, don't stop your other videos!
My two year old really liked the Toaster clips!
I loved this style but love you others as well. May I ask, I did look in the description but didn’t see it, what brand yarn winder is that? I really want a wooden one since it will be on display when I’m not using it.
I like it already. Thanks. All your usual knitting is good too.
Hi Natalie this was a lovely gentle start to the day for me I think an occasional gentle one would add to your blend of podcasts. I hope you find a colour palate for your shawl that you are happy with. I struggle with putting colours together for large projects Can’t wait to see what you decide
I like both kinds, this was very relaxing but i love your bubblie personality to
This is the perfect style of video for me today! I love your chatty style videos just as much, though. Please do both styles!!
I love the colors btw. It’s a really summery palette. So maybe that’s the problem for you. Working on a very summery item during fall?
I loved it as a change of pace. I also liked that you didn't cut out the background noise. So relaxing while knitting. Good luck deciding on colors - so hard.
Love this video! Also really love your other videos, since I have quite nailed down knitting without looking. Love the colors of your shawl, I agree it may be the yellowing throwing it off or perhaps the darkest one. Can’t wait to see what you pick!
Love this episode. So peaceful!
I still need to get my yarn ready for the Stephen West MKAL. You still have plenty of time to get your colors just right. Great relaxing video!
I loved this so much, Natalie. But I also like the talking ones.
If you knit each color separately as a strip or square so you can easily move them around and see if different order/placement looks better.
This was a nice relaxing video. But I like hearing you talk too. Listening to you puts me in a good mood 😄 I’m very curious to see what you come up with color wise!!

Trying to get at least one of the sweaters in the wip rotation done before Friday’s shawl cast on.
I will be winding yarn up today for the MKAL. This is my first mystery shawl.
Loved this video style. Very relaxing❤️
Love the video keep up the amazing work have a wonderful day until next time!!
How can I buy the basket with the holders for your yarn. I just found you and I have 3 dogs. And no matter what dog hair everywhere.
Yes yes yes YES!! More of this please!
Love this! And really enjoy the music.
I liked this version and the music too but also like your regular podcasts. It reminds me of your Christmas vlogs. Curious to see what your final color choices are. Take care,

Really enjoyed this styled vlog & knitting along too 🧶
Liked the other way the best, but this one Is good once in a while. Wont stop watching tho...sunny and nice here in Iowa today. Beautiful fall day. Good for setting on the deck and knitting, enjoying the weather.
Loving the yarn holder - did you make it - or where did you purchase it please!
I was just scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else had asked about that project bag! It's fantastic and I need it in my life. LOL
I really really love the video I would love more these but I also like the other ones too so I’m guessing I just like your videos have a great day
BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL……….TY. 💖🧡💛💚💙
I enjoy your commentary with the videos.

She may just really enjoy the way the bedroom looks as the background since she has previously said it doubles as her office
I LOVED this video! Do you have a link to your swift and ball winder? I couldn’t find it on your Amazon store front

Please sprinkle more of these videos n!! I loved it bc it was like ASMR. Btw thanks for curing my headache 😊👍
I love your bag for the five balls of yarn. Is there a video about it? Or a pattern?
Love this style of video, so relaxing and almost hypnotic 🥰 I’m feeling you on your color choice …. I’m having doubts about mine too 🥺 oh well still have plenty of time ….don’t we 😳😳

Love this style
This was relaxing as a special vid but I do miss hearing from you!
Not my favorite, but I like the colors you chose. Always good to try new things!
loved it!!
I really liked this video really relaxing but I had to pay alot of attention to what was going on. I also missed you talking lol. Can't wait too see the colours you choose I would t be able to do it. I've heard of people using the colour spectrum or taking photos in black and white to see if they go but it's way too much for me to compute
I always have the same problem. I can’t never seem to decide which colors work well together.
I love your colours
It's cool that you tried a different kind of video, but I prefer your other style better. I missed the interaction. Can't wait to see how you figure out your colors. I think you were on the right track with adding a black or dark gray. I think you need more contrast.
I think your orange and purple aren't as saturated as your other colors, maybe that's what's throwing you off?
Natalie, I loved this video for a change, but I really love your regular videos too! I’m sorry you don’t like your color choices. This is so frustrating. I know because it happens to me a lot! I know you will find the right colors and your shawl will be so beautiful like all of your other projects!!!
Very relaxing, my colors are a very Dark gray, medium gray, light gray, beet root, and off white, my first time in this mkal thing 🙈
Where did you get the yarn end holder you put on the peg of your swift?
I like both depending on my mood, but please Do one like this in december 😱
Loved it
I liked this calm type of video! One small thing is, I think instrumental music would’ve been nice
I like both kinds of videos! I did miss your voice too though 💜
Loved this video it was very relaxing, but dont stop your other videos!
I think it might be the yellow thats too bright with the others? Hope you find a solution 😄
