Yeah. I like SHIELD Conjure Deck with Collectors (i have good Ink & Gold Variant SHIELD) its Fun to get Shiny and Mono Random Card without Split Farm (my Shield Skin: Chibi AG13, Maria & Coulson Noir, Sport Nick Furry, and Dan Hipp HelaCarrier & Collector, and Blue Quinjet)
Man I have to say, following your variance talk, having you go back and watch your vods to understand what you could've done better in your games would be golden, such a treasure of a content, which would also produce such a low amount of views that seeing it would make me sad, so I'm already bittersweet about it without even having the content. What a time to be alive
Got blown out by a variant of this deck in conquest just now, they were running White Queen and Cable instead of Sentinel and Enchantress. Biggest problem was like you said, they'd generate cards each round I couldn't prepare for and just had that element of surprise, like every round was the first one.
Agreed, great talk. Sometimes you do just get unlucky, like me not drawing shang chi in my chavez deck vs a high evo deck in 7 full rounds of conquest. But that’s super rare, marvel snap has way less variance than other games. One thing Jeff neglected to mention was deck building skill. A lot of “unlucky” moments can be attributed to using an inconsistent deck.
I distinctly remember a "bad luck" run and I called it that at the time but I was playing a off meta deck, not using the one tech card in it and never retreating losing. Their was a few game where the locations screwed me over, but I get a few games with bad locations all the time and normally I retreat but not that day. I lost and blamed it on bad luck.
I like the no-Dino here. It makes it easier to see that the strength of the deck is the flexibility--Zabu and both 4-drop hate cards, plus Nick and Phil's huge output range. As I've played other decks based more on generating cards, or with a Darkhawk package, they can feel kinda clunky. The stats are reasonable, but nothing more than that. Swapping that for control tools looks good. As to variance, I mean, you're not wrong that cumulative decision making makes the biggest difference, but sometimes you Jubilee into Altar of Death in two separate rounds of the same match, and both times she only pulls Wasp.
Thanks for the deck and video Jeff! I hit Infinite (first time) and got an Infinity ticket with this list in 2 hours (started from 93). Fun and quite powerful deck to play
I wonder what it takes to get Devil Dino back to being in a good spot. I assume a Hulk nerf would help, but I don't know if that's enough because Bounce is putting out 15 power Angelas, 10 power Kitties, and 20 power Hit-Monkeys. Sad Dino Noises continue.
Yeah, poor DD does seem to have been power crept on pretty hard. Being vulnerable to Shang-Chi, Enchantress AND Spider-Ham doesn't help, either. Five drops generally are kind of a hard sell at the moment, it seems like a lot of decks are just opting to play multiple cards on that turn instead.
I love how Jeff tell it how it is. Anyone complaining about Jeff telling people off haven't watched him enough. He's never put up with peoples shit. I love it.
My current favorite: Thanos with Wong. I met many players with rogue and Enchantress and still got 3 gold tickets, because you are doing so many things that losing Wong is not large detriment - and them stealing Wong protects other ongoings. The combos you try to get: Wong + green stone get 8 mana on last turn, If you can get Wong on turn 4 then Wave + green stone is evil (you get to play two cards). Then there is Wong > Gambit > Odin (you play stones after Gambit to draw Odin or before Gambit if Odin is in your hand). I'm testing Sera and Magic to get the ultimate combo - green stone and Space stone on penultimate turn, move green stone out of Wong and play Gambit + Ironheart + Odin on single turn (costs 2+2+5 with Sera, you if you have Magic and play green stone you have the 9 mana for it). Did not happen yet, but fun was had along the way.
Watched the long version of this session but I'm here for engagement. Also with these decks I often feel sentinel keeps my hand full when I'd like to generate better cards, i wonder if i it's worth swapping it with something else
The tracker somehow got a Pig into my opponent's deck and I didn't know what was the 12th card, I believe it was Chavez because it was never played nor pigged
I love a non-Dino Fury deck, I feel like people instantly think of him when the OTA came, I actually love the Shield deck for it's unpredictability in Conquest, which is key because you play the same person multiple times. I also agree that Marvel Snap is less random than other card games. Forgetting locations for a second, you have 6 turns to play a potential 12 cards, of which you see 75% of them without any outside factor drawing you cards. When you have 75% of your tools to access, even with the variance of locations, you should have a winning strategy more often than not. It really is a matter of understanding the opponent's decks and your own. I've played a lot better this month because High Evo is still the top meta deck and I actually have access to it (unlike Shuri and Thanos a few months back). Playing the deck I play against the most has taught me all the winning conditions my opponent has and I rarely go int oturn 6 and not knowing what's coming. Great video Jeff!
29:30. i…REFUSE TO BELIEVE that Launchpad seriously played Thanos instead of just going Spectrum or or ANYTHING else. He had to have either done it for the memes, or just has hardcore Bot tendencies. Launchpad WHY
@@HooglandiaSnap oof, yeah shows how much of an impact that card had, but I don’t want them releasing a tier 1 banger every single week so I hope the tribunal brewers are having fun :)
Nick fury was my most requested buff card in discord... i was expecting the buff to happen sooner but they seem to delayed it for the secret invasion. Anyways nice deck!
Snap makes me furious at times, often causing me to blame locations or card draw. But I also recognize the majority of why I lose is simply me not playing optimally with the what I’ve got. Sometimes it does feel targeted though lol so I see both sides of the conundrum
while I agree that ego is a sort of skill check, the point remains that the possibility of you losing a match in conquest in the last round due to ego exists. Comebacks are a thing in conquest and ego on the last round makes that completely up to chance.
Zabu is the only card I’m missing, it’s effect seem important for potential multi card turns 5/6, is there anything you would suggest I could use as an alternative?
its funny to me that hes talking about variance while playing a deck that creates random cards and while winning games playing those random cards. 10/10 🤣
I used to fly across the country to play a card game where you routinely missed your third land drop and died. Nick Fury variance has nothing on the stuff I've seen.
Complaining about variance in a card game is ridiculous. It is intrinsic to the concept of cards. Anyway great video, cant wait to see what you cook up with 2099 and Phoenix force!
I enjoy your content, it has helped me to climb to infinite during multiple seasons and become a better player, but engaging with the trolls in your chat makes watching these uploads, and your stream in general, a really unpleasant experience at times.
I agree chat interaction makes youtube uploads worse after the fact, but a big part of the reason I'm the most successful Snap streamer on Twitch by a wide margin is because of my interactions. This is my secondary platform and always will be, so twitch interactions come first.
I want them to add a Round Robin type Aspect to Conquest. The player picks 6 Decks out of the however many they have and Each Round you Randomly get one of those decks. And then maybe even have a random round in Infinity Where you get each others Decks
Hoog with the based takes as always. 😂 Have to hear this all the time from m8s who arent infinite. Always some bs location or deck matchup. Like i dunno bro.... Think you might just be bad
No one is dumb for disliking ego. Liking something is subjective. The thing I am pushing back on is the idea that ego is devoid of skill - something I hear often.
I love a conquest deck highlight, this one is especially fun with the variation from our SHEILD friends!

Really enjoying the longer discussions that these conquest videos allow!

Thanks Jeff, I've reach infinity rank with that deck (+169 net cube, 66% win rate, 62 win and 32 lose). I really enjoy it. Thank you so much.
I love the multi-minute long rant about variance.
Tbh I expect that to result in people unsubbing from hearing it. They really need to hear it though IMO.

I thought you guys were just misspelling variants the whole time until I saw him talk about the game and not card variants lol
I really liked that convo about ego and variancy. Keep it up ❤

Thanks for this deck. Switched to it from Sera Control in the 80’s and finally got infinite!
This is the SHIELD deck I've been waiting to see for 6 months. This Nick change takes him from unplayable to arguably pretty good.

Last 6-drop I believe was Living Tribunal FWIW.
Appreciate you Hoogland for showing chat their own cognitive biases. This wasn’t the first time, and I’m really glad you’re educating people.
Yay more conquest content, this one is super fun with the Shield cards, keeps everyone guessing
love this type of deck... definitely gonna try it with noir hill over agent 13 tho.... wonder if hill making a 3 drop would be busted 🤔

Love these videos, great rants and also can always use more dialogue on snapping/retreating. Also, I think Knull was the last 6 drop?
Tribunal actually. Forgettable

Ultrons at the end of that last game be like "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" Spawned so many they had to go land on the game board next to you guys XD
the impromptu patriot deck was just pure gold
Tried this deck out today and got blown the duck out by killmonger twice in a row. Any tips?
This Deck really good in conquest bc opponent can't predict our play
Hi, got any suggestion for Coulson replacement?
I called the ego enchantress'ing the quinjet. was not shocked to see it happen haha

Hell yeah, more long Conquest vids.
sweet deck that can pump out good power
been a while since I played such a low curve deck
Pulling Patriot-Onslaught-Ultron, and it playable from Quinjet - that was something!
while I agree that ego is a sort of skill check, the point remains that the possibility of you losing a match in conquest in the last round due to ego exists. Comebacks are a thing in conquest and ego on the last round makes that completely up to chance.
Sure, but the point here is you should be playing better so you aren't putting yourself in a position that you need to come back.
Jeff is on fire today
Zabu is the only card I’m missing, it’s effect seem important for potential multi card turns 5/6, is there anything you would suggest I could use as an alternative?
Psylocke kind of does it, but not really. Zabu is a tough one to replace.
@@HooglandiaSnap thanks! Yeah I figured it’s one of those no substitute but figured you might have an idea at least!

Here for the algorithm. Loving the Conquest content . Hope the metrics are in our favour !
Last time they released a 6-drop-pour one out for my boy Living Tribunal, so soon forgotten v_v
Substitute for coulsen?
Only one I don’t have
İ used this deck in golden and even without coulson i got easily 3 wins and it was quite fun to play with the new Nick Fury
Mmmmm loving the rants on Ego and handling variance and Gamers
I played a similar list with devil dino and yeah it's better without that card
come for the gameplay, stay for the discussion on Ego and variance :D
these decks are always fun too because it can be hard for your opponents to keep track of what cards you have and which ones are just generated🤣🤣
I love generating cards. This deck looks fun
Thumbs up immediately on card gamers complaining about variance vs reflecting on our mistakes.
Yooo this is op deck man.. just destoyed a destroying deck hehe.. i love it man
Maria Hill no ❤?
Just no room. Agent fits on curve better with Kitty. Maybe over Sentinel if you wanted her.
last game was insane, nice patriot deck 😂
Great idea!
the patriot game is insane lmao
What a meta where a 5/13 or 5/15 are bad in an Agents deck lol
