I literally cancelled my Honda appointment for CRV and ended up getting a Mazda CX 5 S preferred 2 weeks ago. After much research, it’s the better car for what I needed. I’m still discovering many features and testing it. So far really good experience and value for money.

I couldnt stomach the premium price for a rav4, didn't want a CVT transmission, so the CX5 preferred was the choice for us too. It's a great car and feels like luxury.

I bought this exact model 4 months ago. As with most car dealers, mine did not conduct a thorough introduction to all the features of the car and I had to figure out a lot through trial and error. Plus I even made a Playlist of Mazda CX-5 You Tube videos and took notes as they showed me things about my new car that I wanted to remember.
    That was repetitive and time-consuming.
I found this video after I had watched a dozen others. It is easily the best, especially as the young man surveys the interior controls and demonstrates functionality. It made almost all the other CX-5 videos superfluous.
So thanks, and if the maker wants to take one piece of advice, title your video “Watch This AFTER Buying a CX-5.”
Other than a detailed, screen-by-screen demonstration all the options of the 10.25” Information Center, this is a perfect introduction to the car after you’ve decided it is the best value for your money in its class.
    Which it is.

Your content is smack on, I've owned Mazda's for 23 years, they are a Drivers Car, Zoom Zoom, 1st was a 2000 Protege (349,000km), now its the 2019 CX3 in Soul Crystal Red, and I had the Dealer paint the steel wheels also Soul Crystal Red, for Free and it was a $700.00 cost for them. I get looks and comments allways. This spring the 2024 CX5 will be my next car and get the Painted wheels as well. Love Love my Mazda's.

This is equivalent to an EXL CRV . That car is close to 40,000!!! At 32,500 this is a bargain. The only advantage of the CRV is the better room overall but with a CVT/Turbo. I will gladly save the 6-7 thousand! Really great review. Hope you reach the 100,000 views. You deserve it !!!

    1. We have a 2024 Mazda cx5 turbo preferred and the transmission does not shift slow - it shifts smooth which may seem slow because it is not jerky. For comparison, we also own a low milage Toyota Avalon, and our CX5 shifts much better - it is both faster and crisper while also very smooth. We have rented German dual clutch transmission cars and prefer the Mazda autos for smoothness (yes the DC transmission is faster for racing - but let's get real for everyday driving - smoother is better. BTW: the transmission on the review car does sound slow (very similar to the Avalon) - our 2024 cx5 turbo transmission is much faster/crisper. than your review sample...the learning point being drive the exact car you wish to purchase before you buy...not every transmission for any given model behaves exactly the same. 2. Hey guy, are you aware you are driving a Mazda with the smaller (17") rims and higher sidewall tires? - The 17" rim version absolutely does ride smoother/softer than the CX5 Turbo version's 19" rims...you are mixing apples and oranges when you quote differing driving impressions without clarifying if they are for the same set-up...the cx5s w/ 17" rims drive significantly softer than the cx5s w/ 19" but the 17" are less stable in hard cornering obviously. If you would drive both before you start reviewing you could better present and explain the difference...rather than quote other driving impressions out of context.

I felt the same about CVT and didn't like it. When I changed cars I went to a normal auto and was glad to do so. However just updated again and went to a CVT to get the SUV I thought would be the best. Surprisingly I just love the CVT. It has been brilliant for city use and no issue on the highway. Only question I have is longevity, but I'll probably be out of the vehicle before it is a problem (if).

I'm torn between this model/trim vs. the CX-50 in the same trim. I like the looks of the CX-50 better and seem to have better interior space. But, trim for trim, the CX-5 offers more while costing less. Leather interior (better interior materials), sunroof (not a deal breaker), quiter interior (dual pane windows and windshield), the more "preffered" rear suspension set-up. It will probably come down to the test drive. Which one i prefer more the luxurious ride or the sportier and off-roady feel.

What is ridiculous is NO SIRIUS XM. You have to spend $3000 more just to get it. Should be standard on ALL models.

cx5 will be discontinued sooner than later. It's the only cx- single digit model to still be in mazdas lineup. it's also down 30% from previous years. It's only popular in the US.

Probably right. This is exactly what I like about the CX-5. Late in the model refresh cycle...issues have been worked out. Just bought a '24 Turbo Premium. Love it. 0% financing made the decision a no-brainer.

You’ve got bad information. An all new Mazda CX-5 is due in 2025. There will be Toyota hybrid systems available in this model. Stay tuned!

@toucantee that's not true... people are still buying even if bodystyle is outdated.... Mazda just refresh the 2022 model and last year got some updates as well as this year... during the pandemic, dealers were mark-up prices while supply and demand were bringing production issues not to a extreme stop but also made people not want to buy just yet. Dealerships also had inventory issues having a handful in stock vs pre pandemic levels. But now sales figures are slowly rising and people can get what they want.

The CR-V has more cargo space, lets stop there,
BY compare in any performance aspect, the CX-5 leaves it for dead. It handles better and out-accelerates the honda with ease. The CR-V is slow and handles like a truck by compare.

DO NOT buy this car! I bought one and the transmission went out a year later. The transmission is backordered until June 2024, which will be 8 months total, I will be without a vehicle. I will NEVER buy another Mazda.

Just got it yesterday run fine , I traded my 2022 hyundai tucson , horrible wind noise , but this CX5 is so back in time with the screen and auto conect that it reminds me of the historic Era...2024 CX5 and still have to plug a wired for auto Android ? That's SUCK .

@@MRGILLPTYit is head and shoulders better build than Hyundai Kia ... You can easily get 50 dollars small adapter that plugs into USB and turns it into Wireless Android .
To me it is not all the critical .
Oh and if you can't feel that it drives and handles better than rest in this price than take it for some less boring roads and slowly discover how it handles them... It is lot of fun .
