I had one of these executive model on a 96 plate i had the 2 litre auto, same maroon colour and leather interior, i loved it , i had it 5 years most comfortable car ive ever owned
My brother in law got made redundant and was given his 406 2.0hdi as part package. It had done 120k miles. He kept it many years until it gave up at 300k.. peugeot were real leaders then, even little 206 became best seller in Europe. Daughter had one and drove beautifully 1.1 8v totally reliable and handled like go cart but still aupple
Only the 3 French automakers, Reno, Pozho, and Citro, know how to make a supple suspension handle so well !! A secret still not known to the Japanese, American, and even German carmakers!!!
I had two facelift 406's as company repmobiles. The large boot carried a full selection of samples and they were great to drive. The first was petrol and the second was diesel and I thought it was the better car to drive. When Jaguar put a turbo diesel in the X Type, they got Peugeot to help with development on the engine. That says it all.
I wasn't a fan of the Frenchman's car but l accidentally bought a 406 2,0l 16v. My gosh! I regret the pleasure l could have enjoyed with this car from new🤔
4:55 - is that a body on the back seat? For what is now a 26 year old design I think these still look absolutely fantastic, especially compared to its rivals. Think only the B5 Passat came close in the style stakes at the time, but the 406 still had the edge. I've been keeping my eye out for a phase 1 estate for a while now but there really aren't that many around anymore. Shame.
Tiff normally reviewed cars on TG back in the 90s. But this is described as a promo video instead. Hmm? So instead of reviewing the car properly, Tiff got paid by Pug to only highlight good things about the vehicle?! Erm...
Hard to think these are over 20 years old now, they still look very modern and have aged very nicely
Kieran White welp i have from 2004 and its second version
Скоро 406 будет 30 лет, а он до сих пор считается красивым. Такие машины не устаревают, а становятся Классическими.
Nearly 29 years old now, still look good.
@@daveyboiyeah Yep, still a fantastic looking car
The 406 aged so well because of pure classic lines and no odd 'modern' design features.
Классика никогда не устаревает.

Beautiful car
beautiful 406
Daniel Morales’s 406 from Taxi 1998
Still got my estate model, 179,000 miles now
The 405&406 were the best handling cars I ever owned. Better than Mondeo 2.0Si mk2.
the 405 and 406 were different class back the, its not that the other were bad the pugs were just way ahead
PSCavalier 95 i agree

the estate an all round great car
Still probably the best European car made.
Is Tiff actually saying something nice about a pug?????
I owned the 406 2.1 TD bhp mk1 then 406 2.0 HDI 110 bhp mk2. Also the predecessor 405 1.6&1.9TD.
Love it.
Great job, thanks for sharing

Yes. Thanks for explaining the obvious....erm
Yes. This is promo.
peugeot cut the drift segment...u could clearly see the car got really sideways indeed.
Не то Пежо показывают 205 ралли ,а нужно было 406 stw показывать
It's pronounced PEU GOET not Purrrrgeot. Dunno why they pronounce it that way in Britain.
Possibly because in Britain, we have our own accent?
