@@adventureswithneels5014 i will have to do that- probably on my way home- usually when i head that way i usually go to the Ely area first- I then come through the Superior National Forest on hwy 1 from Ely to 61 by Silver Bay. theres a new state park that has hiking i am looking to check out- Lake Vermillion State park between Tower and Ely but i will take your advice and stop on my way home through the french river trail! peace and cheers!
@@adventureswithneels5014 ever since 2008 every summer I take 2-3 weeks off from work and head up to the arrowhead region- i've gone up to Lake of the Woods to Zippel Bay state park- stayed in Baudette, gone to International Falls to Voyageur National Park- Rainy Lafe and Lake Kabetogama- road on a tour boat to Kettle Falls motel, gone to Vince Schute bear Sanctuary in Orr, to the north American Bear center in Ely, to the Soudan mine in Tower, to taking a boat across Lake Superior to Isle Royale National Park in Michigan. i've gone into Thunder Bay Canada to Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park before needing a passport to enter another country. About the only thing up there i like to do up there left is get a passport and see the Northwest Angle- you have to cross into Canada then back to the US- theres no hiking there- I just would to see it- it is mostly a fishing area on Lake of the woods and also French River trail that you posted- a few years ago i fell and broke my right hip and had a total hip replacement so i haven't been able to get up there til this coming summer and after coming across your videos about the north shore it is reminding me of what i have missed up there and what i am looking forward to get back to doing what i enjoyed doing and what i have missed doing the last few years! Thank you for posting your videos- you might say it has inspired and motivated me- i cannot wait til July/Aug! Cheers!
Can you access this trail from the south side of the river and not crawl over that scary bridge on your knees?..... something to check out perhaps. The river was really flowing. There must have been a recent rain up there. Loved your pictures and video, Neely.
I have never seen a spot while driving a place to enter on the other side. I thought about that while making this video. I'll have to look closer next time I drive by. 👍
very nice! I have taken the scenic route from Duluth to Two Harbors- i have been by French River but never been on the trail before.
Make a stop next time, it is well worth the eye full. ;-)
