bro...what happened with that 6 min game you have with ahri
@jessieiiiballesteros2016 Enemy rage quit blaming their jungler. You know how solo queue can be 😅
too complicated, i just played whatever i want and i still won the game. because too much thinking will makes u lose. my k/da is 8.60 by the way
Love the fact that you showed all of the games to prove you weren't cherrypicking and show variety of results to expect. Even if something goes wrong, I'd love to see every game just to know how to compare myself to this.
Glad to hear! ❤️
I’m always amazed at the effort league players put into everything about the game! Due to my job and life I don’t think I’ll ever dedicate this much effort to a videogame

A bit of an addition to this topic, because I've been watching Faker on afreeca and adapted this strategy as well. Faker does not necessarily place them at 1:15-1:30 if someone is protecting the ramp or if he is on a champ with good push - in that case he often places that ward after the first crash. On another note, that kind of vision, especially if combined with good teammates, gives you nearly constant awareness of the enemy jungler, if they aren't in sight, they are at blue, drake or nash. Top and bot wards should eliminate those possibilities, so that we know the exact place where the jungle is. Of course, in low elo, most teammates won't think that far and still die to obvious lanes, but that is something nobody can change. These wards, however, give them at least a chance.
I saw that too, but was worried it would add too much confusion to the video if I had a whole other segment trying to break it down - in retrospect probably had room to add it. Just wanted to comment to let others know you're 100% right and that if you don't get that 1:15-1:22 timing you just hit the raptor ward after that first crash and you're all good.
Yep. People in platinum and below still dies to the "3min gank" now "3min30 gank" toplane. And the only thing the jungler did is full clear bot to top. Every. Single. Game.
So don't expect them to over a lane the correct way...
As a Rumble player, it's super easy to get first wave crash if I decide I want to, and often do the ward you're referring to after the first clear. It's definitely better assuming you get back in time for xp for the 2nd wave, which you can do consistently with some champs.
The editing on this video is insane! Getting all of the timings just right on showing and hiding vision in the overhead shots must have been a lot of work. Kudos!
As a jungler this is fantastic to learn. And while I don't think my midlaners will do this anytime soon. I personally will be trying for it when I know I have advantage for it
As a midlaner, I used this just about immediately, tho the jungler took almost no notice - I was able to catch a fleeing ADC more than once through it while knowing the jungler was topside
i remember dopa saying how he learned where to ward very early on (s3-5) by copying faker and how faker created the fundamentals for warding. We are still copying faker 10 years later
Yeah this is called the Dade ward lol
this is by far the most useful and insightful video you guys have put out in a long time. tracking enemy junglers has been my biggest weakness in league for many seasons but doing this basically made something click in my brain and now i almost never get ganked. great video!
What a nice video. It reminds me the one you guys made about the jungle vision of Anda. Though im a midlaner that video really helped me to improve a lot. Im pretty sure this one will be very useful too. Thanks!
Funny enough, I’d already tried out a habit of trying to stick a ward there as jungle, but because I needed to get back to my own camp in time for it to spawn, I had to place it slightly too early. Against fast clearing jungle I could still catch them, but they’d see the ward time out and they could just fail to reach that ward due to slower clear speed so it was less useful than midlander sticking it there.
I know exactly what you're referring to and had the same problem as jungle was main role prior to swapping to mid lane. Seeing Faker do this made me realize how important it is for the mid laner to place this ward in the current meta as it basically alleviates all other lanes from having to do any super early ward like that.
I've been using this ward for a long ass time and it's been crucial for me and my team. I usually spam ping my laners where the jungler is thanks to that ward
its good that you make those videos to teach people smoe basics about ward placement, this ward is pretty old and yet rarely used, as a jungler i can say thank you , this way my mid might not feed so much
Hey guys, im a brazilean player who has been watching your videos for a couple of months, I usually watch just for fun but after being a platinum player for years Im now a Diamond player, tho its not much for many people I still wanted to thank you guys for helping out the community. 🙏👍🙌
That's awesome to hear!
Something i've noticed to check who leash the jungler if they do fake leash (even if they shouldn't) is that you can usually check for missing mana or health
This guide maybe the most useful guide i saw in this channel , my biggest weakness in league is warding , i hope you do this for each lane
Ive been using this strategy every game since this video came out and it has almost conpletely eliminated my lane phase deaths. It also drastically reduces bot lane deaths getting the occaisional vision on junglers or my mid laner attempting to roam on a crash.
isnt this just the midlane ward that was used like since forever?
Edit: because skill capped actually changed the title it's confusing for new watchers now.
They originally titled it a new strategy which it obviously wasnt
yes it is mainly in pro play
yea true but the whole concept shown in this video kinda expands this to a level where honestly if you are aware of what you are doing (if you're low elo it may take some time) then it's useful as fuck and uncomparably better than just "1:15 raptors"
Yes but do you use it?
@@JoshuaKoh well i used to use it.
i guess the double ward i never thought about.
but still
this is nothing new is it?
compare your title to the video title and think about which will get more views. also would you like to place wards like any ordinary midlaner since forever or do you want to place wards like faker, common the answer is so simple
as a jungler, I would kill for a midlaner that does this in my games
6:38 It probably has little effect at my rank (I'm bronze/silver currently and doubt a lot of players are paying that close attention), but this is why I like to delay a bit in showing myself in lane if my jungler started on the opposite side of the map. Mostly only doable as top (unless you're bot and you can expect your lane partner to stick closer to you and not show themselves early too), though mid can go set an early ward and then pretend they came from helping leash red or blue. But in theory it helps mask where the jungler started if all the lanes act like they just gave a leash, and you can still be in your own lane with time to not miss any CS.
Also a fairly easy ward to drop at the start of the game as a support, if nobody's invading, albeit a little more risky if someone's not nearby just in case an enemy is sitting there. But most of the time, they give up waiting in a brush and go to help with their jungler's leash. Not as ideal because you're one ward down early in bot, but when nobody else is keeping tabs on the enemy jungler, it feels more valuable (to me) to be putting that ward down and trying to use that knowledge on where the first gank might go. Obviously the rest of the video doesn't really apply to a support for the rest of midgame, since those are wards the midlaner should be maintaining, but it is something you can still start doing again once you have your wardstone and start roaming to set up vision, i.e. if you've got a midlaner who's starting to carry and you want to make sure they don't get shut down (the "Faker ward" is a pretty good spot in general for covering multiple paths, especially if it's not safe to drop anything deeper).
Helpful for not only mid lane but for junglers as well. Good things to keep in mind. Thanks!
I do this sometimes, but ward the enemy raptor bush when I know they start blueside so we know when we can expect ganks. Which works great too.
10:30 "I immediately get punished for trying to do the right thing." I laughed out loud :D
Regarding the leashing side lane, I've started to simply stay out of vision until about 1:50ish in order to give the impression that I helped the jungler, just to keep their pathing more unpredictable. Of course, this is natch up dependent, but the potential value is higher than 2 or 3 cs to me
Very nice and informative video. Although I was already aware of the power of these ward locations, it's nice to see you guys make the community aware of what a handful of wards can do. Keep it up!
Thanks! ❤️
Very cool! Is there a similar thing I can do as top?
best viedeo ever i saw in my whole life ty for all and i hope everyone enjoy this viedeo =)))
I know I've been doing it for a long time as mid lane, it's small but has avoided a decent number of ganks. All that said, it signals that I should be starting sweeper when I play support to stop this strategy lol
When I do jungle, I always opt to not have my laners leash for me to prevent information from being given, especially when I want to avoid the enemy Jungler.
This is what I wanted to ask.
Whether leashing is even worth it at all. Not only does it give away valuable information, it also means the laners have a harder time to get their level 2 spike first. As jungler I'm only marginally slower without a leash since so much of my damage on the first camp comes from smite and my jungler-pet.
will this strategy work normally with season 14 map changes?
Love to see an updated version with the new map. Shouldn't be that different but still
W video skill capped 10/10
@1:14 Or he walks left to dodge the vision and gank mid. Or he walks right and paths to bot side behind the bush to dodge vision. Or he walks top to gank top.
I can see now why raptor start then pathing behind red/going topside is ideal
Already knew this ward from the German streamer Agurin.
As a support I almost always put a control ward at the bush behind red buff. Would that counter this ward?
as a d2 jg main i always oracle lens the raptor ward everygame i head to that spot and swap it
so sometime i like to wait in top or bot side jungle to synce up with the person leashing the opposit side jungle to make itr harder for enemys to track my jungler
mind games
Is this tactic also good for top if you are on the blue side of the map?
Need a update version of this
Would have been interesting which ward you used before that casually
Like half my games the jg places this at 50 and recalls for sweeper
As a jungle i ask my mid/top to place that wrath ward at 1:20. But only 20% of my games do they actually place them though. And this is in plat/Emerald.
Also as a Leona support main, i usually do more damage than my adc for the games that we lost. And i do focus peel my ADC's. How do i get out of this elo trap?
I have been doing this ward for years no its not enough for free wins but its really nice for early
Great job on the vid. This ain’t the clickbait title most streamers do, this is scientifically proven.
9:37 literally my enemy team even if they had 6 waves on their tower.
how do I recover from loose streak. Any tips?
does the ward help vs my 0/25/0 botlane?
Great tip. Wouldnt say its "new" or "fakers", but still an awesome go to ward. I get you gotta get those clicks tho lol.
I been doing this ward technique for the past 2 years now.
2:10 i actually do this gank if the enemy midlaner its pushed when i start blue, but im a otp fiddle maybe its that xD
i love how I have been doing this for like months, now, and then suddenly "OMG faker ward, he is so clever" :D
its not faker ward lol everyone use it
how you watch replay from opgg ,?
I just tried midline since I transfered from jungle main
2-3 years ago people were calliing it dopa ward. Also idk if it wasn't used even earlier without any name.
Now, when an enemy passes through a ward there is automatic signal in the map.
I learned this from fater IN SEASON 7.
u forgot ivern pathing..he could do a gank after gromp cause he smites first buff
Im gonna try this as a jungler tho
1:06 what's going on over at botlane though? :P
can you make some diamond elo guides? i'm hardstuck d2
pretty sure this is a common thing for mid to do quite often. i've known about this and i suck at this game...lol
lol Yamikaze used to drop that exact same ward before that Shen broke him
all good but that flash - e with Ahri got me mad 🤣
I do this always, it doesn't matter at all in low ELO
4:15 first time hearing ample being used lmao

on the next video: INSANE Faker's strat to gain Gold in Korean Challenger! (farming minions)
Why you gotta do me like that 😂
am i the only one who was warding raptors at 1.17s 2 seasons ago?
"They will never do blue, gromp, wolf into then ganking mid lane" That is not true. Tarzaned does a transition gank into mid all the time while heading to his red in order to grab prio and poke the enemy laner.
i told myself if there was timed tags the first time i watched this i would join the service but i guess next time
You should not ward enemy bot jungle no matter what. I don't know what the pros are smoking but in all of my games we have 3 people (supp, adc and jungle) hidden in brush for a potential gank counter. And they also sometimes ward the pixel brush. Do not do that. If he is implying that you should ward after the 1st jungle camps spawn, maybe it's alright. But again, if bot pixel brush is warded, you will see the enemy jungle and enemy mid catch you before you can get out (depending on the champ). A better idea is to ward top pixel brush instead. And another strat no one talks about is using 'Ghost poro' rune. That rune is OP as hell and I see almost no one using it. That alone has saved my life n-number of times, and not to mention it gives you adaptive force after expiring and when detecting an enemy. That's exactly why you take that and if you ward say dragon when the timer is 4 mins, after your ward expires it will leave a ghost poro which can only be disabled by running into it (which wastes junglers time and makes a gank obsolete).
to my level of gaming they walk thru my ward i still don't see them and die xd just goofing im terrible but great strat thanks for sharing!
Tyler 1 has been doing that ward for a while.
neat video
you guys are fast !!
If you guys made an app for android tv I would subscribe, I like watching informative league content while I’m chillin on the couch, not when I’m on my computer =\ (I’d rather just play league)
oh the ward veigarv2 is advertising for years xd
how is nobody mentioning the third game that he aggressively skipped over? is the ward not the direct cause of the afk that let the enemy team ff at 6 minutes?
But if you have vision you can come in from river on that side,
Coming from drag is impassable I think now
I do this strat sometimes
U dont need godlike map awareness at min 3.45 when u have the ward on raptors u see the enemy, no? (I mean when u double ward, rapotrs with normal ward and pixel with a pink....)
11:32
Seems fair.
"The Faker Ward"
*Every other midlane player using it since League exists* : Are you sure about that?
having the voiceover sped up like this sounds so bizarre, i thought it was ai generated at first.
Turns out I've been secretly Faker for 5 years.
"if it work for us regular mortals" 🤣🤣
i call it Tyler1 ward, In ravs video its top 5 things to do in ranked
What is this guy's name and why don't we see more guides from him?
bro sneaking a surrendered game
ngl this isnt new but he plays like this for past 4 years.. at least thats when i knew this trick, but thanks for mention it since i think a lot player doesnt do or know this
Have you just discovered him doing this? cause this is common practice
theres actually another hidden part to the tactic
Thr elite500 ward
I've always done this ward after shoving the first 2 waves (until letting the cannon wave bounce towards me). Never knew that the ward time last that long that you always spot a full-clearing jungler at raptors anyway. Or am I missing something? Does my late ward have other benefits?
Due to another commentor faker delays for one wave if he knows he gets the push.
But i would assume placing it too late could create blind spots in the path.
what about if the jungler gets no leash
Go as a team invade a camp either red or blue (i mean ward) as easy as that. But tbh just need one more teamate to follow you so you don't die solo, or wait they appear on map before doing it
That's what's so good about this ward. You just hug the side you have warded until you spot them at their Raptors to reveal their route. The only true "counter" would be if they got a leashless opener, then did something like Red > Blue > Gromp > Wolves > then transitioned back their raptors right after the ward expires throwing you off. However, I've been using this ward for over 100+ games since I created this guide and haven't once ran into a jungler using that route against me. Basically, although in theory, there is a leashless route that could avoid this, in practice it's so unlikely that you don't have to worrya bout it.
im a gold but I have been doing this for a long time lol
I do that strategy ward as a jungler already xd
Instead, start your pathing on their krugs. If your champ can actually take krugs fast you can get their whole red side and skeedadle to base get items, defend your red side. Even if they are starting red, if your champ is a fast krug taker you can even steal the red and kill them (might not get the kill if their red is on the bot side).
@@Arel_KursatDon't do this, it's insane how coinflippy this is without much benefit...
Invading lvl 1 bot Krugs is complete int, so I'm assuming you only do this strat on red top side:
1) top might spot you on your way to krugs
2) top might spot you on their way to lane after leashing
assuming you get the Krugs and enemy started at red and you run to red after Krugs:
3) you don't have smite to secure redbuff. On most champs you probably die here because top and mid can collapse and enemy has redbuff and can stall
assuming you get the Krugs and enemy started red and you realize you can't go to their red:
4) you can coinflip toplane gank... congrats, now everyone knows your location and the enemy jungle can potentially run straight to your blue side and invade with red buff.
5) You lose time while walking from Krugs to blue. Yes, if everything goes right you get an extra camp but it's not worth the risk
6) you lose options. After Krugs, you only have top gank and bluebuff. After a regular start you have many more options (gank side/mid, invade/split map, fullclear
@@Arel_Kursat that's some kayn cheese strat xd
Not like we used that ward already like 2 Seasons ago
So what I'm seeing here is that the ward I place for my mid lane most games is suppose to help them, but they still get killed within the first 3 minutes by a gank.
Dude i hate that so much, I walk by a lane, put a ward there to help them, 30 seconds later the enemy jungler walks through that shit for like 10 whole seconds and I'm like: "Should I ping this? Naah, there's no way he didn't see this", and then they run at the enemy laner and die to the worlds shittiest gank, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
@@Failzz8 If I'm on blue side as a top laner, in most of my games I put a ward down near raptors. And that exact same thing happens so often lol
Very informative but calling it "the faker ward" is ridiculous when this strategy has been implemented since I was in the womb
Appreciate that you guys seem to really care about your tips and don’t just cherry pick, keep it up ❤
@@christopherwray4788don't know about that guy but I can tell that skill capped tips are quite nice.

Thanks for the positive vibes. Comments like this are why we put in the extra effort ❤️
@@skillcappedOMG YALL RESPONDED I love you guys, from silver to diamond using your tips over three years 💗💗💗
I dont understand the "double ward" thing ? can't you just place a ward in the river between the pixel bush and the lane bush ? that way it covers everything, I always do that. ofc you can't place a pink ward like this since it's not in a bush but I mean just a regular ward
I know the ward you're talking about and is actually a great ward location for the regular trinket ward. The issue that occurs is where to place your pink ward in conjunction with this ward. If you don't have a pink ward I would say raptor ward is still better than the one you're referring to, but that river ward is like the second best trinket ward location for mid lane. However, if you also have a control ward then going with this double ward setup just feels so amazing once you get a few reps in with it compared to constantly having to adjust/space out your wards based on the game.
@@skillcapped okk thanks !
@@skillcapped and by the way do you think that in mostly all laning phase the faker ward is better than the ward between pixel bush and lane bush or only at the few beginning minutes of the game ?
@@exunektes7193 After grinding nearly 100+ games at this point using this ward strategy I would say a good 90% of the time the raptor ward+double ward setup with the control ward is ideal. However, there are unique scenarios where I found it unnecessary to place it for whatever reason. For example, knowing the jungler was already bot side and Dragon was a threat I'd temporarily pivot a ward placement near the Dragon - that kind of thing.
Only prob is: I think most common gank is around 3:20 and you will have no ward up for that
Yeah that’s called the Dade ward and is placed in this same spot after shoving the first wave or two lol - this tech is like a decade old
most common gank is after 2:30
