- I used an HP ZBook Studio G9 with an NVIDIA RTX A5500 GPU to see what it could do. I ran a Blender test, UE5 and then tried to simulate 1 million cubes in NVIDIA Omniverse. HP and NVIDIA provided products for this review

This made me want to buy this laptop!
Its a good choice for art school in the year 2023. Thanks Marc.
Nice!
3:52 looking at the reflections and the text in the top left.. is that raytraced? ..in VR? I'd imagine if you combine those two things most PC's would melt!
The zbook series uses Quadro GPUs - these are workstation GPUs designed for accuracy over speed, and generally cost much more that gaming cards.
They will slow down to produce accurate results rather than render inaccurate results in order to get faster results.
This means that you can rely on the results for professional work.
madness?
this is nvidia!!!
If I configure a ZBook with those specs in the HP store ... it's close to €7000, which is roughly the same as US$7000 ... more realistic would be to take teh I7 (is very close in performance to the i9) and maybe teh RTX 3080TI ... ye sthe RTX A5500 has more "Quadro" functionality, but don't think it is that much better, if it is better at all
I do have this device with the same aspect! It's not worth it! It hit 60c° CPU and GPU temperature when I just run chrome 😃when you run heavier things! You can't even touch! So if you need a new heater or you are living in cold place! It would be a great choice
Nvidia should send you a 4090 to better evaluate the Omniverse .
4000 $ USD it better do something
Since you are clearly so ambivalent 🤣 about it, I volunteer as tribute to take that bad boy off your hands. 🤣🤣🤣
I dont get the hype, to me its waaaaay overpriced when compared to a consumer laptop with a 3080. Not to mention missing a dedicated numpad.
I thought the same. My work just got me the G10 version of this with i9 and 64GB of RAM and it's a dream to use. Obviously speed and such is outstanding, but the laptop is just so darn nice. Build quality is extremely high. Keyboard is superb, screen (OLED) is insanely nice, audio quality really shocked me (I didn't know laptops could sound so amazing)... It's just fantastic. Also, I know there's some extra stuff that's more secure, safe, reliable for businesses that I barely understand that make them more expensive.
Is it overpriced though, despite all that? Almost definitely. I'd have to pay nearly $7k out of pocket for what I have, but my work only paid $3100 because they have deals with companies like HP. I'm sure that's how a lot of these mobile workstations are.
Z like russia army. :O
O, V, X are also for armies
going from that, a lot of symbols couldn't be used, anyhow, HP removed the Z logo for the g10-series
@@barsam2a sure but right now that is not really appropriate
What is your experience with thermals, fan noise, temps that kind of stuff?
It has actually been pretty good. It has been very rare for the fans to go nuts, unless I am rendering something. Doing Blender has been fine as well.
I own a HP Fury G9 with 64GB RAM, RTX A3000, it's perfect for CAD programs, but really bad for Unreal Engine (gets too hot way too quick)
