A ratchet strap and paracord is easier and cheaper always.

Great little pully set, need one of them, getting a bit long in the tooth now to be lifting the R1200GS fully loaded.
But you will undoubtedly drop it away from a tree !
@@maxflight777 yeah your right, probably 70/30 where I ride, and don't think I will only drop it once that's for sure and it's a heavy bastard.

Remember being at an old engineering demo 20-30years ago, think I was 10'ish max little tacka, they were doing some examples of lifting an engine, 2-3guys on avg to lift it stirght up, 1 guy about 140kg was able to do it solo, then they hooked up a block and tackle and gave me the rope, could hear people laughing and carrying on like i had a chance, raised my arms up got a good grip and bent my legs and up it went, was able to stand up and hold it in the air at the same time. To quite the surprise of other and some popped egos... Good times.

I was thinking it would be good to hang game out of a tree too.
Add one or two more pulleys/snatch blocks, (cheap at most hardware stores) you could make everything even easier to pull. Granted, the mechanical advantage gained means it takes longer to pull anything the same distance of course, but if you are desperate enough to need to use that in the first place, taking a few more minutes to get yourself unstuck wouldn't be a huge complaint. Also, if you have nothing nearby like a tree to hook up to, digging a hole and burying something, (AKA a "Deadman Anchor") or a big tent peg type thing staked at a steep angle into the ground, is a time tested and proven way to attach a winch line to. Again, it all depends on how desperate you are and prevailing conditions, in an emergency.

Watching Nay lift that bike with little effort was pretty impressive. Very good chance that would come in handy if you are riding alone and your bike goes down in a tricky place.i admit I was sceptical.

@@blacksheep6888 oh $ bags over here. I built 6-1 with bearings but it made out of 3mm steel plate. Ebay rope block and tackle look for the sheet metal thing that looks like wafers

It would be great for pulling bikes out of mud holes.
You mentioned a winch pulling the Paracord. My question would be why not carry a small winch giving you 50 feet from wherever the tree happens to be. I realize it's going to weight probably 10 lb, but if you're stuck in a bog it's 150/1 pull ratio and you can sit on the bike and push a button
I don't really think it would be practical to carry a winch on a motorcycle! 😃
This would be interesting to know if you can use your mates bike as a anchor point. I'm thinking if they were sitting on it with the brakes on. I guess if you have a mate with you he could give you a hand to lift it 😉

the cord looks same as my home window roll shutters...might work with a winder than pulling it
I actually carry a similar thing (bit beefier though) on the bike, got me out of a few pickles!!

Nice but if kit but check out the Aussie invention HitchMaster. Similar concept but no moving parts & using standard paracord, 250kg breaking strength

Oh ya that is is it, yep no moving parts to break, a great system just made a comment about it but couldn't think of the name of it.
Good for even a Old Man to have to lift a smaller bike like a 300 pound Yamaha XT250 upright.

4-1 if your bike is 100kg ur lifting 25 or is it 3-1 33kg
in sand i guess you dig down to wright the bike to 30-45d before trying?

Oh I think that's a bit rough mate! If you can make a pulley system the same size and weight for bugger all I'd be very interested to see it! If you do make it, make sure you share it with us all👍
@@BikerBits fair comment but over 200 dollars for a simple device like that is way over priced, the weight difference between one you can buy at a Marine store will be minimal
Fair enough mate! I suppose I just look at it a little differently. So many times I have looked at things like this and thought the same as you, but when I start to work out all the bibs and bobs of making the product and the selling it... I then realise that it's not that bad after all. MADE in the US not China. Lifetime Guarantee. Size and Weight. Capable weight lifting. You can call him directly if there is an issue. He employs people! I run my own business and I know all the expenses that have to be paid in order to sell a product to a customer. We all complain about buying from China and loosing our manufacturing to them but when someone tries to do the right thing and keep it in our country, they are called overpriced. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. 😩
@@BikerBits well I agree with not buying from China, I personally try to buy Australian made things, or make it myself, I am a Diesel fitter and can make things like that from scratch, I guess it's easy for me because I am a tradie. The ones you buy from a marine store will be stainless steel so will more than likely to be smaller and very high quality, although the locking system would probably have to be incorporated separately, but all in all it would be cheaper and you would get the satisfaction of making it yourself, having said all that it's a great product and you did an excellent job reviewing it, you have passion for what you do so keep up the great work, it can't be easy thinking up subjects to post on UA-cam every week like you do. Ps did you give pyrethrum a go on those pesky spider mites?

Number 1, NEVER go riding out bush ALONE!! So if you obey this simple rule, and always stick with your mates, this expensive little piece of kit is totally unnecessary.
