There was a very wholesome comic I saw once, and I would like to describe it.
A Banette is wandering the woods looking for its 'mama' (aka the girl it belonged to). It comes across a Phantump who asks it if it's seen her doll. The Phantump is actually the girl that the Banette belonged to. The two were reunited as Pokémon.
I wanna see that comic. And at least they have a happy ending :)

I think that the dead people turning into Pokémon might be Arceus’s doing. He might have felt pity and great guilt that the person died because one of his beloved creations didn’t help them. So he turned them into Pokémon so they could have another chance and help others that could die in the same way they did

Awesome vid :3 One thing that just hit me though.. Banette is a doll that was brought to life seeking revenge after abandonment through it's powerful feelings of *hatred* for it's trainer.. Yet.. It has a Mega Evolution..? Doesn't Mega Evolution require a special bond between Banette and it's trainer? Does that mean a Banette unlocks the ability to Mega Evolve when it finds the heart to forgive it's trainer..? That's.. Actually really sweet.. I really like that! :D

I think how humans become pokemon after death is the cause of Xerneus's life magic and Arceus's creation power working together to let innocent humans become pokemon. How it would work is Arceus finds a dead innocent human and creates a pokemon form for that human, then Xerneus gives the human/pokemon life energy to live again. It is very rare for this to happen with very few pokemon once being human in their last life.
And when a persons soul is stolen the body and spirit wanders until being bound to an object or Pokémon

I personally love the way Pokemon draws inspiration from myths, legends, yokai and oni (etc) so my theory is that seeing as the legendary Pokemon are pseudo gods the Pokemon that used to be humans follow the stories of gods granting mortals wishes or punishing them, (for example the story of Medusa being changed into a Gorgon with powers as punishment/rescuing from men). Maybe as the humans die they subconsciously wish to live and legendaries take pity on them: the first to come to mind is the children wandering the forest wishing for a way out or to live are pitied and turned into phantump. This also could be caused by Unknown specifically instead of just random legendaries as in the third Pokemon movie we see the girls subconscious will wishing for things to happen enacted by the unknown with their reality altering powers. Seeing as it's a common theory that the unknown surround the world existing as the fabric of the universe they would be everywhere to grant strong enough wishes given they also include some sort of transfer of energy (can't create something from nothing).
Jynx was always the creepiest to me. I was convinced for the longest time that Jynx's face was shrouded in shadow like a Jawa and that her eyes and mouth were glowing in said shadow. To this day, I'm not convinced I was wrong and that Jynx isn't just a floating face wedged between a dress and a wig.

You gotta wonder how humans ever managed to tame Pokemon in the first place. It seems like they would've been casually eliminated by all these monstrous beasts.
Perhaps all living things in the Pokémon universe are Pokémon. Plants, animals, household items.... even humans?
So we can think of yamask and phantumps as possible evolution branches for us? Like we're basically super special eevees that can become phantumps, yamasks, gengars, and several other ghost type Pokémon when we die, depending on the situation.

Shedinja was actually one of my favorite 3rd gen Pokemon... up until I realized it would only ever have 1hp. I did still use it a few times. Every one of those times: "Welp, there goes my soul!"

A little bit of context for Honedge: in the Unova region a legend goes that a man with a sword wiped out all the Pokemon race but one, having the heart to spare it. Considering the fact that the Pokemon race was nearly wiped out by a sword, is it no wonder that Honedge makes sure it isn't used by humans?

Well, Victreebel IS based off a pitcher plant, and that's exactly what they do: Lure their prey with sweet secretions, which is slippery, and it causes the insect to fall in. Then the insect drowns in digestive fluids. Some pitcher plants actually eat rodents too. That's why they're so creepy. ;)

Um... In one of the Pokemon XY episodes, a Cofagrigus turned Iris and Axew into a "mummy" and they were alive. So if Iris was turned into a mummy and lived, then Cofagrigus turning people and pokemon into mummies is just a harmless prank.

Can I be honest? Hypno honestly has to be my favorite Pokèmon. I'm not as much of a fan of its backstory, but I find its design just very pleasant and the nice. Hypno has always been an appealing Pokemon to me. For the longest time Hypno has been a part of my team, and, despite his creepiness, he always will.
