I'm disappointed that the Gold Tools still break. Why did Nintendo not make them permanent? Gold nuggets are hard to come by so it would make sense that way.
Like why did tools break in ACNH but stay forever in ACNL? Probably because you craft the tools yourself in ACNH with island resources rather than just buying them from Nookling Junction in ACNL.
Note that if you have online/literally any friend with a golden tool you lose the insentive (gosh autocorrect) to get upgraded tools at all since, well, you already got the best of the best! Not mentioning sites like nookazon..
They really have made these tools more elusive. In past games, these things were as easy as buying 30 axes for the axe, getting a perfect town for the watering can (which is easier than getting 5 stars by a lot) shooting 12 balloons for the slingshot and literally just burying a shovel and digging it up the next day for the shovel. The net and rod were still pretty hard though. Thing is, they were much easier to get yet so much better than now. Each one had a special ability, like the net and rod had better fishing and sneaking abilities, the shovel let you grow money trees that gave you more money than the daily ones in New Horizons and the slingshot shot 3 bullets.
I feel like Nintendo has been actively trying to make Animal Crossing harder for players (especially for new ones), to the point it decreases the fun. Take the bank interest patch, for example. What the heck am I supposed to do with 0.05% interest? I don't know how so many players seem to have billions and billions of bells, I find them hard to come by after they even made the rare bugs and fish spawn fewer. That bridge will take a lot of time to build. :T
These are good to know, for collection purposes, even though it's a lot easier to just get a strong tool and customize the color to reset the durability.
The Gulliver one. For the Nook Mile achievement of Gulliver's Travails it counts both helping gulliver and gullivarr, though the shovel diy is only from helping gulliver.
People should also remember that this game was meant to be played troughout the year slowly. I think it takes so much away when you rush things. Also the burnout is insane. This was a good video tho! 🙊 i didn’t know all of these things
I've watched quite a few play videos, but I've never seen anyone show off the aquarium or the butterfly garden. That's so pretty. I don't have the game myself. I just like to see what people have done with their islands. Love your elevated fishing spot too! That's clever. Thanks for sharing this info. If I ever do decide to actually start an island, you've given me some good ideas.

I dont have any golden tools yet, but a quick tip to save your tools from breaking, except the axe. Customize paint the tools and it restarts their life span. Enjoy the same tool forever 😜
i'll probably still try to get all the recipes but since gold tools break, i won't be crafting any besides the golden watering can. gold nuggets are just too hard to come by 😭😭
Quick tip: gold tools can still break but you can reset their durability by customizing their look with a workbench (this is useful if you don't have alot of gold)

Their superior durability means nothing. They cost a gold nugget to obtain, which is rare. Regular tools can be repaired using a customization kit, which you can buy hundreds of from nooks cranny.
Gullivarrr counts for the Nook Miles achievement, but NOT for the golden shovel, unfortunately. That’s the last golden tool I need to get, and I earned the Nook Miles Achievement several months ago.
Well this was helpful. I just started the game a few weeks ago, so now I know to save ALL of the gold nuggets I find so that I have plenty to make golden tools. Thanks!
I just need to catch the Scorpion & Tarantula. I keep fainting when I try too. 😂 For the fish, I missed the napoleonfish so I have to travel to a SH island. Then I have to grind catching the tuna & stringfish. 😁

After after 2 years of on and off play. I got the golden slingshot I didn't even know that I was so close to it. And then it just showed up one day. Also I don't think I'll ever get the golden net I am terrified of the tarantulas lol. I hate seeing them on my Island I'm never trying to catch one.
Today I learned that the Gulivers travels nookmiles stamps are not only limited to Gulliver but is also associated with Gullivarr whom I helped anyways because I wanna see what he gives this time. So that is interesting no doubt.
Every flimsy axes takes about 30 seconds to break, if you spam A 30 x 100 = 3,000 50 minutes plus time for every speech after breaking a filmsy axe so basically around a hour
Thanks for the guide but like a lot of players I won’t be making or using them. The only exception is the watering can. I’ll continue to buy my tools and use the customization kits to make them last longer.

Since gold tools break and after a certain point I stop hitting rocks (so I lack gold), I didn't really care about gold tools. On my first island I had enough bells to just buy tools when I needed them.
The lily of the valley will only spawn if you talk to Isabel first you must talk to her to be able to get Lily of the valley and to be able to get the recipe on your nook phone for the Colton watering can recipe

A tip for the axe grind - try to get bad luck with possessions via Katrina, that will allow you to break axes faster.

They don't have a use other than indicating your island is perfect! You can't destroy them or pick them. They also don't breed.
I love them! I put them in my paths because they can’t be destroyed and I can run freely over them plus cuteness!

omg. i read somewhere that you also had to break 100 shovels for the golden shovel. i’ve been using flimsy shovels for weeks. no wonder i haven’t gotten the golden shovel DIY. i had no idea it was actually tied to gulliver 🤣🤣

the count on the nook miles reward includes the times you've helped gullivarr, which don't count toward getting the golden shovel

Since gold tools break and after a certain point I stop hitting rocks (so I lack gold), I didn't really care about gold tools. On my first island I had enough bells to just buy tools when I needed them.

The lily of the valley will only spawn if you talk to Isabel first you must talk to her to be able to get Lily of the valley and to be able to get the recipe on your nook phone for the Colton watering can recipe
"the axe is easiest to get", but i still dont have it yet! that and the shovel lol. i need to stock up on wood anyways so i can grind out that one quick enough. and ohh, i thought gullivarrr counted! annoying that he seems to show up more than gulliver these days. but i was worried something was wrong with my game, cause i know ive helped them COLLECTIVELY about 30 times now. (id probably have it by now if i had been playing every day and not just in bursts of a few months at a time...) but ok!! i should be able to actually get all the golden tools now!
