A standing ovation for Madonna, Janet Jackson and Cyndi Lauper for being the artists with the most albums on the list! 👏🏻
3 pop divas of the 80s who really raised their voice against social issues…
Katy said "Witness" was gonna be darker, but opted for a more hopeful vibe following the 2016 elecrion results. I really would've loved to hear what that darker sound was going to be.
I would have loved to hear something dark in the style of Power or Tsunami! 😮💨
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES Definitely hoping for something in the vein of "E.T.," myself. One of my fav tracks from her.
@@OpticalSorcerer totally agree with E.T. 😍
Hey, I think K12 by Melanie Martinez should have been on this list since this album talks about many social issues such as bulimia, bullying, feminism, discrimination and politics with the song The Principal
You're right, that album definitely could have been here!
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES 🤍🫂
The Velvet Rope is what I can call the definitive masterpiece of pop/r&b music, the album is full of so many layers that goes beyond quality but a scream and spiritual search.
A very important album in pop culture, reading about it months ago I was inspired to make this video! 🙌🏻
Thanks for including ADIAML ! It felt like I was the only one that proposed it and was afraid it wasn’t going to make it in the list ahah
Impossible to leave that album out of this video! 😱
Thanks to these women for making this wonderful music so necessary for a better world 🤍
Like a Prayer in 1989 is also an advocacy about HIV awareness and support to the victims. Each album sold has a leaflet inside it giving rightful information about the disease
That's right, Madonna really knows what she's doing!
Ancient dreams in modern land deserves much more recognition.
Purge the poison is a great song
That album was a powerful and valuable closing for this video! 🙌🏻
Madame X, like a prayer, erotica and american life are such amazing albums! was true blue a political album tho? it's the only Madge album i haven't listend but papa don't preach is about teen pregancy? so does that album talk more about this stuff or sum
True Blue is more of a love album, but Papa Don't Preach is definitely a political song.
If you haven't heard it, you should do it soon because it's amazing! 🥰
Thanks to these women and many more the world became a slightly better place and their music a stance helped millions of people to accept who they are and be proud for it. There aren´t words to describe the thankfulness to these ladies.
They can't imagine how much they have helped and comforted so many people with these songs and albums ❤️🩹
I'm not dead is wonderful and p!nk's best!! Thank you for mentioning it!!!!
P!nk really said *POLITICAL* with that album, couldn't miss it here! 🙌🏻
So good that you mentioned Björk cuz she deserves her flowers too
Björk could not be missing in this video!
i add :
- Alanis Morissette "Jagged Little Pill"
- Alanis Morissette "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie"
But my fav album on the list is : P!nk "I'm not dead" & "Lover" Taylor Swift
Thanks for your additions! 🩷
Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land❤❤ Best
Too bad it didn't get as much recognition 😢
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES 😭💔💔
Erotica, American Life and Madame X are criminally underrated Madonna albums. They always criticize her the most when she releases political albums. I guess truth hurts cause Beyonce didn't have these problems. Only Madonna is the one to blame
Actually yes, the public has always crucified Madonna but not other artists who have done similar things after her, that shows why she is the one to watch! 👑
1) the first to do something will always get the most criticism 2) Beyoncé dealt with a shit ton of criticism from right-wingers and political pundits from 2013-2018. I guess you weren't paying attention.
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES other female artists do get unfair criticism in different phases of their careers. The only reason Madonna got more at their age (and still) is because she was the first to shake the table on a socio-political level. To her and the others critics "it's all her fault".
@@chantoya17 That criticism (of Beyoce ) was nowhere near as big as Madonna's one plus Beyonce always got a ton of awards and praise at the same time which easily overshadowed that criticism. Madonna didn't have that luck
@@irina1296 Well remember what happened to Janet Jackson after the superbowl? Madonna is lucky that her music is still widely celebrated.
lm5 will always be that betch for me, what an album!
I REALLY LOVE THAT ALBUM!!! 😍
The addition of Dónde están los ladrones by Shakira was very good; but it could also have included Oral Fixation vol. 2 because there we find several interesting topics that touch on political, sociocultural and religious issues: How do you do, Animal City, Costume make the clown, Timor

God I forgot it! Oral Fixation Vol. 2 could easily be here 🤯😢
This is a good collection of albums but some of these I would call more personal rather than full on socio/political commentaries. Also, The Velvet Rope's main through themes were depression and acceptance. They should've been added to the list of topics. And considering some of the albums' inclusions, seems like BEYONCÉ (2013) is a glaring omission here. It is what started her polarization with certain sects of society. Other than that, good video. The intro was perfect!
Certainly some of these albums talk about social issues through personal experiences. I'm glad you liked the video! ❤️
Oooh on the tlc tip? CrazySexyCool?
At first I thought of CrazySexyCool but the only really political song is Waterfalls, the rest is focused on love and relationships 🤔
Saw witness on tumbnail. It s enough for me to click🌟
Here's a taste! 😎
😍❤️💪
🩷💪🏻
Witness is so underrated
Witness definitely deserved more recognition 😢
And what about Kylie's Impossible Princess ???
At first I thought about it too but it's not really politically charged, it's more about Kylie's personal experiences 🤔
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES Yep, you're right, but the message about, self confidence and breaking the rules is all trhough the songs
Shakira ❤❤❤
Si! 😍❤️
When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? - Billie Eilish??????
I know no doubt isnt gwens only but tragic kingdom had some real political undertones with just a girl, different people, make the world go round and tragic kingdom touching subjescts on feminism, diversion, capitalism and pop culture.
L.A.M.B is also very discreetly political in what you waiting for? commenting on society and pressure on women, long way to go being about interracial relationships
Probably Tragic Kingdom would have been here if it wasn't because it's a band and in the video I only included 100% female albums!
How about Dixie chicks :taking the long way they're single not ready to make nice and they're album gaslighter with they're single march march
Lover by Taylor Swift is truly for me the BEST political album. Also it's one of my fav Tay albums
One of the most risky things Taylor has ever done, I hope she does something like this again! 🤩
She's so unusual should be here too😢😢😢
At first I thought about it but it's not really as politically charged as the others here.
It could go into another category 🤔
@@TOPSPRODUCCIONES what? One of the first openly feminist pop records is not political enough?
@@gabbyb7347 Of course, but the level of political charge that Hat Full Of Stars and Sisters Of Avalon have is higher and that's why I wanted to give them their moment.
In my video ‘Revolutionary Eras That Shaped Feminism’ She's So Unusual got one of the highest ranking spots!
lover? are you serious?
