My clutch gave out, so here I am lol Also, this is a great video. In my opinion not enough videos bother to remind people that these things come with instructions.
Robert how did you know I needed this video so I can replace my sway bar and lower engine mounts on my 08 xc90 LOL thanks for another great helpful video!
Head's up HFT bar purchased feb 23 was too short to span a V70XC except at the very front, maybe 1-2 inches in front of the front engine hanger. I was surprised to find this video with the bar spanning the car in the normal place.....this car must be narrower than V70 or else bars got shorter.
Mister Robert! I’m about to do the same operation, I’m curious won’t the passenger side of the motor pivot down since the engine bar isn’t directly over the point where the chain loops through? Once the subframe is removed that is, and the weight of the motor is just supported by the bar..
@@RobertDIY Exactly what I figured, other wise if the bar was straight across the points you loop the chain through aren’t directly under the bar. So the bar being diagonal across the engine bay is the way to go? One end by the passenger headlight and one near the driver hood hinge more or less.
@@RobertDIY I’m sorry that was a vague question. I meant to say would it still work for a inline longitudinal engine that the run from front to rear instead of left to right.
@@lamonttwitty2585 Both front wheel drive and traditional engine installations (4 WD and rear wheel drive). Much better than a cherry picker in that it stays with the frame as you may need to adjust the body.

Ouch! 😉
I built one out of wood to replace a transaxle on an 88 Z24. It worked just fine, but I'm going to buy one of these for safety.
good plan.
Thank you for all your work putting up helpful vids on your channel!!👌👍👍
My pleasure!
Sweet! Cheers for the video, just bought one today, looking forward to it helping with future projects. 👍

I did not position the bar straight across. Besides that, what are your options?

Would this work for an inline motor?
Mine is inline.

Take the lever off?
Huh?
@@RobertDIY off the transmission.
yes, that would help.
I been working on engines for a while. No matter how many times I use stuff like this I still think of how many ways I can kill myself
Oh my!
Uuuip
LOL
Once you pull the subframe I would place a jack with a block of wood on top under the engine oil pan just as an insurance policy!
ok
