Eric's contribution to the music industry is exemplary. So sad he is no longer with us. However this musical genius lives on through his music. LONG LIVE ERIC WOOLFSON.
God I love you guys. I saw APP in Durham last year.and during break asked (begged) someone on stage (a roadie?) to ask them to play "Old and Wise". When they came back from break AP waved his hand over the audience like "This is your request" since he didn't know, and played it. I cried. Literally. It meant so much to me.
My Mother, passed in 2014. Her Mother, my Grandmother also gone from us, had last name Wolfson. Family too poor for the extra O, but so very wealthy in love. Missing them. And missing Eric♥️
Eric Woolfson is easily one of my heroes, not merely because I enjoy his music, the music he conceived with Alan Parsons, but also because I myself am a Jewish (by birth) musician who shares his first name. He is one of two artists that I regret not having had the opportunity to meet or work professionally with, the other being a resident of my native Hudson Valley, Laura Branigan.
Everytime I hear his accent I remember how proud I am of being a Scotsman. His accent is quite softened, but here it comes out when he 'lets himself go', just to quote one of his masterpieces. I also visited 11 Hamilton Avenue in Pollokshields... it was magic... that red brick wonder in the middle of trees all around in that quiet and residential area, typically 'South o' the Clyde'... I love and have always loved Eric throughout my entire life, I'd love Scotland will finally discover his talent as many others in Europe has already done, so that we'll one day have the privilege of having an 'Eric Woolfson Glasgow trip'. Sorely missed, but a Braveheart never truly dies. :-*
I once had a stopover at Charles de Gaulle airport and did not anticipate to find myself in one of those tubes. I love "I Robot" and when the realization hit me, after having entered the tube, that I was at the scene of where the album cover was taken, it was a most intense feeling of exaltation.
Odd how Woolfson thought the people-mover tube chamber at CDG Terminal 1 was "dehumanizing". I thought it was cool as! But then, I was thinking of the I Robot cover as I went through it. Hard to know how it would have struck me in 1974, when it opened. The surrounding space is rather spooky.
i remember as a kid in '78 at CDG airport having fun going up and down different tubes within 15 minutes with my younger brother. Thought it was cool having crisscrossing glass tubes some going up others going down.
I sas in a hospital for a period of about 35 days just looking outsides to the buildings and it was so silent and I was so alone with my thoghts. When I went out and I went home, I started to put my songs in order and I started by the letter A.... ABBA and Alan Parsons..... I saw the cover of the record I RObot and I got so amazed that I went for versions of that sleeve to find one with more details and I found One japanese version very detailed I started to see things that I didnt see in the other times and the more I looked to the detail the more I saw Ideas of time and space, like 2 guys entering the robot like serious persons and they 2 get out in diferent positions. One is going up in a escalator and the other looks to be out of the sistem. the one ho was in dark green suit now is wearing a white suite and I saw the same guiy in an upper place and there was another one like saying ... Dont go! And at the top there was some one with long hair and he was in two places at the same time like looking what happened and what happened before that robot and so on. I still look at that sleeve. I woul like to have an even better resolution in that picture to make a poster
I love these behind-the-scenes tidbits. Hypgnosis Studios were geniuses at album covers. I'm sure I spent quite a few hours pouring over I Robot's cover! Thanks for all the great music which accompanies my memories in my older years! Peace!

Great guy and true talent .
I like how the robot on the cover is "see through" so you can see it's spirit.
