Great guest. Love Dan’s Journalism. Now for more of the British alumni. Henry Catchpole, Dickie Meaden, Steve Sutcliffe, Tiff Needell, Harry Metcalfe, Rory Reid, Jason Plato, Vicki Butler Henderson, Matt Prior, Ollie Marriage and Jack Rix. Oh and you also need to get Jonny Smith & Richard Porter back on. And from the UA-cam world Sam from Seen Through Glass, and not that I watch his content but Shmee would be an interesting chat.
1:35:26 As far as I know when the pandemic hit most industries including the car industry thought sales were going to go down so they reduced their chip orders but a few months later they realized sales not only didn’t go down but even went up in most cases. They are currently trying to increase chip production and even make new production plans but like any other big, complicated industry it takes time to make changes especially when there are only a few companies with only a few plans in the whole world that can produce high-end chips. All things considered, the chip shortage will probably continue into 2022.
Not only that but people were buying lots of other electronic equipment that use the same chips during lockdown. There was then a fire in one of the big chip factories and then the boat that got stuck in the Suez Canal delayed chip shipments even further.
@@DrivingDistilled Oh yeah, I forgot that he drives the silver one at the end. I think their comments in the podcast were directed more are the touring version than just the manual.
I'd love to see a new version of the i8 with more up to date tech. BMW certainly left themselves some room for improvement, but I still love the look of it. Kudos to them for at least taking on the challenge and trying to make a green sportscar for the future, even if it turned out to not really be that green.
I'm all for more paid journalistic content , but if it requires a dedicated app, and is mobile only, I won't even consider it . The content does sound intriguing, but being unavailable on computers, and with tablet sales declining, mobile apps facing major regulations anyways - it's gone way too far already in that app-craze segment - app based content just won't make it . Especially considering smart phones are simply too small to consume ambitious content, and still don't play nice with computers without extra hassle and paying a bundle for half assed emulators. If it's not web browser based, don't even bother .

Jason Plato’s stories on The Late Brake Show were some of the funniest I’ve heard. What a guy and what a driver.
You definitely need Henry on here. His UA-cam videos are some of the highest quality you will see. Up there with Harris

Im loving the Intercooler! This was a very entertaining chat as well
Yes catchpole!!!!!!! Sideburns man 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sweet guest, across the pond ftw
Matt not remembering that Dan was at guest at his house was almost as embarrassing as Matt not knowing how to pronounce Manuel Carrillo's name
Matt and Zack the same age, wow I have no idea
The Intercooler really rocks!!!!!!
Love this guest 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I bet the A110 is amazing to drive what a great looking car.. I would like to drive it too bad we don't get it here like the GR yaris,..
Agree 100% Imagine if the A110 came stick
German road quality at this point is a myth. Autobahn or newly surfaced street, fine. A lot of 'normal' roads are crumbling.
Acura tlx type s must of been the car that shifted at redline
Tim Schrick reviewed a manual 992 GT3. Needless to say he was besotted with it. He was on track though.
Great podcast!
His latest video was a PDK car.
@@jryalls At 7:17 he is in a manual car. :)

Tim Schrick! I had so much fund with that dude in Europe. Haven't seen him in years. What a fun guy

My thoughts too. I love the long form automotive writing but I don't want to squint at and hold my phone for 15 minutes straight while reading it

Ah yes because even tho millions of people have had their shots and 99.9%of them have been fine, it's still an experiment
@@danielbatmanj349 sure man. Early days though isn't it?
