Below the Fender H.O.T, you can see a Fender Sidekick bass amp. John used it in stereo with the H.O.T, after the DOD chorus. Keep on making these videos, please!
@@MistaMahcos there is a small clip on youtube where it can be seen a little more clearly. The are several Fender Sidekick amps, but only one model matches the typography used in the amp seen below the HOT. It took years to me to find one, but I am from Spain and I think those where not sold here.
Hi one more great video 👍 BSSM being my fave album ever, I ‘m particularly interested in that one ! About pedal chain did you tryed with the dyna comp in first position, before ds2 ? Won’t it be better ? Just wondering cause with my set up, if I place the compressor after the wh10 as you have done here, it tames it as the ds2, both pedals are loosing punch /gain and expressivity, gets less gnarly and a bit darker !?!
No i didn’t try it that way at first I just used the wah and it was so loud I thought the speaker might go out even with the vol on the amp turned down. So I did use the comp to tame it.
Thanks for noticing! the music in the back ground is mine. Its just a guitar and bass track that I made. Kinda don’t like when UA-camrs use the same background music over and over again. I’m going to try to make new ones every few episodes 😊.
@@MistaMahcos I really liked it. I paused your video and after a few seconds realised the music was playing in my head. Its really cool. Look forward to hearing more!
Strip my mind or cant stop would be nice. Also if you’re up for live versions, I’d like to know your take on I could have lied (Budokan 2000 & Hamburg 2002) and Scar Tissue (Moscow Red Square) cause I’m struggling especially to get the live tones. Also Under the Bridge cause thats probably my fave tone of John ever, and nobody ever has nailed it completely imo.
I've got a question! I've usually seen (and played) this intro played with the high e tuned to eb, and used as an open string. Here it seems you keep it tuned to e nat. Is that how john plays it? Seems to make a lot more sense, honestly.
Great question something I should had brought up in the video. I had the high E tuned down to Eb you can hear John tune down the guitar during the slane castle performance just before they play power of equality 😁
@@-rubbersoul- looking to get a 1959 reissue I know John’s guitar during BSSM was a 58 model that would be closest there are only a handful of full of pickup makers that make a “58” strat pick up hard to say how they sound not allot of info or sound clips of them. I could probably get away with an eq pedal but I haven’t tried yet

I don't want to hate, especially because frusciante tone recreational videos are my favourite on this website, but if you literally have every single piece of gear that he used and then some, then maybe you could play the songs better? The production on your video is great and you are entertaining, but honestly the fact that I haven't heard you play any of the songs correctly (or at least close enough to not bother) have really ruined my perception of you and the things you say even though you seem likeable...anyways keep it up but yeah please learn the songs better
It’s not hate but constructive criticism, I don’t think my guitar playing is anything to boast about. I lean on the fact that I have the gear to make up for my playing. “If I can’t play like John at least I’ll sound like John” is what I tell myself. We all know it’s not about the gear but being a good player takes time. I don’t know ANYTHING about technical playing, I should practice more, work on my finger/hand technique, and make sure I’m playing the right notes. I’m glad you enjoy the rest of the video. I definitely will take more time with any performance I do. Not because you mentioned it, but I want to be proud of my videos. Which I am because I know it’s the best I could do at the time. Im not perfect so it will never be perfect. These videos can be so much more. I know that and they will be eventually. I’m just learning as I go. 🤟

Yea I can see the H.O.T on top of another amp but had no idea what it was! Maybe that’s the “bass” amp he mentioned that he used

It's tone recreation not guitar cover lmao
