I'm currently bingeing your videos as I'm trying to launch my own brand of 'feminine' clothes for masculine bodies - I'm just wondering how clued up you were on the business side of things when you were at the stage of contacting manufacturers! I'm so eager to get going but I'm scared of sounding so out of my depth when in meetings or on phone calls as, at this stage, I've got the branding/USP/design side down but not the costs or business side. I've got total 30 tops in the making currently on a hand-made scale but am raring to get going. Your videos are proper helping
Amazing! I was not cued up at all, I have learnt soo much from my journey! if you watch some of my earlier videos you will see the ups and downs I have faced. Business wise I did a course with the princes trust (UK) and I learnt alot about business from that! xx
Hey Tadii G, can you talk about how do you change the measurements depending on the size, like if you start off measuring a small or a model that is a small in size how do you tell the manufacturer to make the garments in small - large cause the measurements would change.

Hello, thank you so much for the video! Quick question, I was considering hiring a freelancer online to create a tech pack for me, but would it be better to hire a designer in person, just so a sample can get made in person or something to get the size specs? or how does that work
Hey Tadii, for your bill of materials, do you buy what you need from suppliers and then send it to your manufacturer? Or is it on the tech pack as a buying guide for your manufacturer to buy the materials themselves? 🙂
In my case, I provide some of the fabric so I note down the companies and then send that fabric to the manufacturer, but a lot of manufacturers will provide the fabric for you xx

Hey, the manufacturer can grade it for you if you give them a size chart to work with

For me the easiest way is to find brands/websites that has sizes you align with and use their size chart as a reference.

how do you determine how much gsm to use for a specific garment without a gsm cutter?
I worked it out by ordered loads of fabrics with different gsm and selected which one I preferred xx

Yes you can just copy a size guide that you like or do what I did and I took multiple size charts and took an average to make my own xx
