Hey guys, if you're looking to start a clothing line in the UK I recommend The Pattern Room they do Tech packs, Pattern Cutting, Sampling and Small production runs MOQ 5-10 made in England
Successful business is a great logo and brand that the people your selling too relates too. Quality of the materials. I advise 100% cotton or wool. Quality is always better than quantity. Also your price for your product. If you’re paying $1 for a 100% cotton hoodie. $25-$30 is a great price. You will sell quick bc it’s affordable and the quality. Most people’s hoodies are $40-$50 with mixed fabrics. You won’t go wrong! I’m getting back into the clothing. I barely kept up with my orders the first time around. Things I know now I’ll crush it. I’ll post soon on my next logo. Waiting for my logo guy now
Had to watch this again, dope video! Had a few more questions. Colors - if you’re starting out using blanks the colors can be limiting so what do you recommend as far as wanting to give options, or concern about always having the same shit? Planning - when you say build out the brand beyond the logo and colors, what does that look like? Is it coming up with different slogans that make sense for the brand? Different logos that make sense? Mascots? How you design your tags? Etc etc would be dope to do a deep dive video on this or review from another brand like Chinatown market. They use a lot of yellow, the smiley or peace symbol for ex. Essentials - it was hard to see what the designs said on your mock of the hoodie tee and hat, but are you suggesting that each piece have a different saying that makes sense for that collection vs the logo on each piece? Or is it the same slogan or logo for that specific collection for ex “Mondays suck” on the hoodie hat and tee for that one collection? Are you a brand - are you saying to only focus on selling to one type of person for ex the non preppy baggier skater? Some people who like a brand will wear a SnapBack and a dad hat another day so how do you take that into consideration? And if you are a streetwear brand not collection, do you stick to one type of silhouette that makes sense? Find your lane - people who buy into one brand might have slightly different lifestyles so how do you know who to design for, like what situations the clothes will fit into their lifestyle? Do you pick and choose or design for as many situations as your clothes can fit into that person’s lifestyle? Thanks, Mike! For ex some ppl wear nike because they are athletes and some wear it because they are into streetwear and just think the Check is dope or whatever the case.
what he means about being a brand is you have to have an identity that runs thru the collection and beyond. its an identity that informs every single aspect, marketng, your tags, how your wrap and ship your product, the language you use. You need all this to be a brand, but you can also just make a bunch of tshirts and start selling them without doing any of that. thats the difference between a brand and a person who sells clothes

How common is it for a customer to buy multiple garments from the same brand? Because I've never done that, unless it was on special and I wanted more than one of a specific item.
Tbh I think most guys don't have huge brand loyalty. Generally speaking majority of dudes aren't super into fashion so they buy whatever iss cheap and comfortable. For me, if I like a brand I look at their entire offering and see what they have. For example, I love Stampd, Supreme, Bape and have many pieces from them. Short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, and accessories. These things are important to consider when creating or identifying your target market. If your customer is someone like you then I would create that item that makes you want more of the same thing. For example I sometimes buy multiples of the same piece in the same color so that I can keep them on rotation and have clean ones. But those pieces are THAT comfortable and good quality. - Mike Leisure
