Alex, aside from the possibility the driver was trying to stiff Pepe's, isn't it illegal to drive that rig with no windshield? Great recovery! Love this channel!
@@lastplacetrophy3821 I'm assuming this dude was an owner operator since he had to pay the bill directly instead of having his boss give payment to Pepe's office; and because if he was corporate the new truck would have came with a new driver. Would be nice but would probably have someone take it to court or something unless they make it a law but could probably do a Lien or something like mechanic do it. Remember to slow down and move over
language barrier today is really a problem. we had a driver who spoke Russian, we tried to explain to him were on the yard his trailer was. he spoke no English at all. after an hour one of the yard hostlers took him to his loaded trailer, after he was given directions and a overhead map. this country is full of people from other countries and I'm happy for them to be make to the U.S. . but they need to learn basic English. If this driver rolled his truck over on a rural road in Alabama, EMS and first responders would have a hard time trying to help him.
When my family generations ago were on the way to Ellis Island they started learning English so they could blend and assimilate into America,,yes they kept some culture from the past but try and say anything bad about America to them and they'd about wanna kick your ass back to the boat bringing You home.
California is full of a bunch of incompetent drivers as you see in most of Pepes vidoes, so many of these can be avoided by just driving safe, ex. my dad been driving for 20 years and not one single accident or ticket, its all in the driver, but it keeps Pepes busy and us entertained so shoutout to horrible drivers
@@eddieherrera9504 Very true lol, I always say that a HUGE majority can easily be avoided. Cali doesn't have some gravity problem where loads magically shift, speed and distracted driving are big problems here.
@@PepesTowingServiceno matter what vehicle it all boils down to what you just said, worked at Vernola's towing many years ago,I'm sure you know the company or possibly Luigi himself, his daughter runs it now.

There’s a reason why all these containers roll so close to the ports and it’s not usually driver error. Containers are sealed up, so the driver can’t inspect the load or how well it’s secured. A large heavy single load like machinery etc could have easily moved on the sea, and the first corner it’s game over

That's how backed up in videos I am haha. Haven't even had time to finish my home office which will help get me back on track. Soon though!
I wouldn't accept CC as payment. All the person has to do is call his CC company to dispute the charge. At that point, you might lose out on the money. I've seen it happen at truck stops over the years, where drivers fill up on diesel, pay with CC, then dispute the charge and get away with free diesel.
@jennifurzoe1302 Ppl will do it, especially with the lottery. I've stopped at several small truck stops in Ohio and they won't accept debit cards for payment bc too many people have challenged the charges and got away with several hundreds of dollars in lottery tickets.
i've Seen that Before When i Was Doing Mobile Repair before the Smart Phones We Would Write Down the Customers CC Info On Billing and When We went to Process the Payment at the office The person would Claim the Card Was stolen! same Game different Tactics to Avoid Paying!
I think there was a language issue here. I think the tow guy said he'd send you the bill after the owner said he'd pay with a credit card. So in reality, the tow truck guy mis-communicated. The truck is probaby a short run vehicle that is going to drive to the dock without the windshield. It is not gonna be a big deal for him to travel a short distance with no windshield, The truck needs to be removed from the roadway ASAP.
2:05 wth, is that a newer cabover? That's the first one I think I've ever seen in your videos. Is that a dockside/terminal thing, or are they more common in urban areas?
@mtsky-tc6uw figured it was something like that. Well, glad to see them over there as well 😊 I'm sure the operator appreciates the manouverability on a regular basis👍
let's play that game again of .... me work in USA but me not know english , me not understand , but me do drive a truck , me get paid myself , me always know everything very well if its suits me .
That only works on a basic tow where the price is agreed upon first. How can you collect first on a police call that's billed hourly? What if once upright, the load is badly shifted as is quite common and then I needed a Landoll? Well I already collected, let me collect again. Then before you go in tow, the guy says he I want it towed here now which is 50 miles more. OK let me collect more. That's just unrealistic and 10x more complicated.
@@PepesTowingService Pre authorization on a credit card is not too hard. I used to use Chase merchant services to do it, but in my industry it is not really needed. Pre-auth the customer's card for as much as you think the job could possibly cost. Then you know they have the money, or it would have gotten rejected. Now go do the job. When the invoice is finalized you charge the card for the amount and then the higher pre-authorization gets released.
