- Me and the 1988 firebird "Lola" go head to head in knock out elimination match at least that's what it felt like watch the video to see who comes out victorious!
This honestly wore me out trying to get this thing in there definitely recommend if your using the 5.3 truck oil pan to install the engine and trans separately do to the oil pan hanging so low or being deeper from the trucks just not a lot of room for it to slide past the k member!
Hope there was some good information in here for people trying to do this swap even though its been done a lot lol!

Chuck the chain up real close to the intake and when you jack up the car in the back real high it drops drops the front end down lower to the ground
I went through the same thing with my torque convertor, and did the same as you, with the adapter from chevy. Keep up the good videos!
Appreciate you showing us the challenges you had to overcome, will save us people a lot of time who are considering the same kind of swap, didn’t know about the different flex plate spacers needed with the 5.3 vs 6.0

I've done a lot of motor swaps in 3rd gen Firebirds it's easier just taking the 6 bolts out of the hood then Jack the car up as high as you can get it in the back then it'll go right in

Pretty sure you're supposed to modify the K-member OR swap in a after-market K-member.
That’s what I thought but the oil pan seems to clear fine maybe it’s the mounts I have on it. The ICT adapter brackets and then the longer umi mounts. Because from what I see it dosent hit the crossmember
Just gotta spend the money for a F body oil pan and manifolds save the headaches
Yea I thought of that but I’m also just seeing how cheap I can get this swap done also. Got 3 cars as toys and 2 daily’s so there’s money going all over the place.
