    Oh boy, here I go, thinking of buying my first heli again. The Tx is just so expensive though. The DX6e isn't bad, but if you want voice, then it's the NX8. Yikes! I look forward to your flight and comments. I hope you try the larger battery, as well as the standard.

      You definitely need to buy your first helicopter! Such an awesome part of the hobby. I would highly recommend the NX8 over the DX6e. Yes transmitters are expensive but! You only buy them one time and they last a very long time! I still have a radio I purchased 10 years ago and works great.

    Have a question about the servos,if these are micro servos,can I use the spectrum battery checker to test the servos,or do I need an adapter because it is a micro servo?

    Can you please help me out. I bought some smart batteries, but for some reason I am not getting telemetry, even after I choose auto config. Also, I have the odd tail twitch and tail wag, can you think of any way to make that a little better. Finally, how on gods earth do you put the canopy posts in. It looks like they’re threaded. I broke one trying to remove it. I guess it’s just me. Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, and happy flying.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Рік тому

      That is very strange you are not getting telemetry? What radio? Have you tired to rebind? Tail wag or twitch is a gyro setting. Check out my Infusion 180 video on the head and tail fix and I go over some settings in that video. Try that on your 150 and it should help! The canopy post are loctite in to the metal bearing block. So you might need to use a little head to get the threads out with out melting the plastic post.

    • @stevejohnston8543
      @stevejohnston8543 Рік тому

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 I’m using the DX6e and I have tried to rebind. It auto configured but does not show me anything regarding the status of my smart battery. My 230 works fine. No difference in how I set them up. Also the smart batteries without the balance lead for the 230 (850 mah) are immediately recognized and charging is initiated in my smart charger right away. Not so with the 3S 450 smart batteries for the 150.
      Also sorry but I didn’t understand some of the terms you used “head” for example. Finally if you could provide me with more specific info regarding removing and installing the canopy pin I would really appreciate it. What exactly does it thread into? The hex screw? Thanks.

    Hey jeff. I just got the m1 and in normal mild 3d the model is okay, but when i do hard 3d the tail motor kicks like 90 degrees or close to it making it uncontrollable. I think I’m running the stock fbl settings, can you by any chance give me your gyro settings for the m1 evo?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 роки тому

      That is a problem with the M1 I had to take some pitch out of the blades to get it to stop blowing the tail. I run nine blinks for speed and four blinks for Giro.

    I appreciate the run thru with the IX-14. I bought one but I haven’t transitioned over yet. So, are you affiliated now where these links to Horizon help your channel? If so, I’ll buy a 150 and I still need those better servos for that fun scale PT-19, and of course I forgot which ones I need to get for it. 😂

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      Unfortunately the affiliation link has not been processed fully yet. I’m still waiting on the OK from them. Any day now lol do you need to use your IX14, it is such a fantastic radio. It is so smooth and effortlessly through everything you do with it. I believe the servos I recommended for you were the Hitec 645 MG‘s.

    I wish the ix14 wasn't so expensive, I really like the look of them. I have an NX8, but it's so old fashioned, no USB C, just manky old micro USB, and it's nor touchscreen, for the price of the thing you think they could have stretched to touchscreen, they are hardly a big ticket item at that size.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  10 місяців тому

      Highly highly recommend the IX14. Best spektrum radio made thus far. Well worth the money. The NX line is over priced and cheap feeling in my opinion. Every one I know who has went from the DX/NX to the IX14 never been happier. If you have the chance to play with one in person one day you will never go back and buy one right away.

    Hello Jeff! This partiular heli is one that I am very curious about! I do have a soft spot for Blade products, as their nano qx, blade 120 and Blade 450x were responsible for me learning to fly helis. I will always be grateful to Blade for making it possible for me to jump into this awesome but quite complex hobby. Besides several helis from other manufacturers, I still run two Blade 230s helis (one of them converted to a Microheli scale Hughes 300, with the 3-bladed head). I have had my eyes on the Blade 150s for a while now because it is under 250g AUW and because it has a proper "windshield" pattern painted on the canopy. Anyways, very much looking forward to your flight review of this little guy. In the meantime, can you tell me if the Blade 150s is tail-heavy with that 450 mah battery that you show in this video? Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.

      I have personally flown blade helicopters way back to the CX and CP days! I learned how to fly well just hover on a cricket. Which was a old nitro model. And then what really taught me how to fly was the Boyd CX. And then I moved to the Blade CP then Blade 400 and then Align models after that. The 150s was not too heavy with the 450 MAH battery. It flew great with that pack and a 3s 700mAh pack. Flight video soon! It’s a fun little Heli!

    omp m1/m2/m2 evo or Gsky s2 + edgetx/opentx transmitter = best combo for beginners 😇. Cheaper to get in the air and most importantly, way cheaper in the long run😃

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 роки тому +1

      Those are fantastic models! But I don’t agree with OpenTX being good for beginners. It is a much more complicated radio system compared to spektrum. And can really be difficult for somebody to learn that has no idea what they’re doing.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 I think blade does a good job making BNF easy but at the same time I was able to hook up my 15 year old DX7 to the m1. Took a seperate piece but really wasn't bad. I do like how you can see the battery voltage on screen with this model though. That would be a huge plus

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Yes, i agree that it is easier in the beginning. But as you know lol, although you make it look easy breezy & thank you for doing what your doing👍, nothing about this craft that is easy. To all who are thinking about switching, its actually really easy now, there are a lot of information out there and here on yt about getting set up with an open protocol transmitter. In fact ill make a video myself about it soon. The benefits far out weigh the small learning curve. Once again, thank you West for helping us, you really helped me out tremendously👍
