Dear WestHobbiesRC, just a short question: Does the Goosky GTS FBL unit have Rescue / Panic Recovery, e.g. like the MSH Brain 2? Did you fly this heli with the Goosky GTS FBL unit? What´s your opinion about it, can you recommend it or should I stay with the (more expensive) FBL units like MSH Brain 2 or Microbeast Ultra that I already own? Thank you very much.
@@markuslang6695 hello! So the Goosky GTS has auto leveling but no rescue. You can flip the heli back into auto level as a rescue but no it’s not like MSH Brain. I flew this heli many flights on this FBL. I gave this model to an awesome kid who still flys it on the GTS. I’m using an ikon 2 on my Venom and definitely recommend using an ikon/Brain FBL over the GTS.
I've watched one of your old S2 videos, i don't recall you doing all this(centering, throws, etc). Will all this work on the s2? Their instructions suck!
That’s because on the S to it is a find and fly type of model. You don’t have to center your servers wipe your pitch and adjust cyclic throw and everything else. but, yes the same lights and menus will work on the S2 as the RS4. Only thing that is different is after you set your pitch on the S2 you will not have a blinking pitch light to adjust the tail.

hey west i’ve been thinking about this heli as i have the s1 and s2 but have never built a heli kit before but have a hangar of about 13 fixed wing rc airplanes, can i translate these settings to a futaba radio as well?

@@westhobbiesrc8051 thanks again west, you deserve more exposure for how much work you pump into these videos man, you guys are also the reason i got into helis, i got some inverted hovers and some flips and rolls down in a matter of several months, the guys at the field say i got age on my side and i’m passing up a lot of members at my field lol
Hi! I tried settings up the attitude mode but the heli drifts in that mode and does not hover in one place so I cannot not touch the controls as per manual otherwise I would crash. In normal mode the heli is super stable and balanced. Any clues?
So that’s “Auto Level” when in auto level mode the heli will not hold in one place but keeps it for coming to far and brings it back to level. If it drifts only in auto level but not in regular mode then you will have to do what’s called a trim flight.
@@lionelcregut1222 no, never use radio Trims on a FBL heli. So a trim flight is a calibration flight. I’ve never done it in a Goosky but I’ll look and see how it’s done and let you know.

@@westhobbiesrc8051 Your very welcome! During my setup of my new RS4 watching your video I noticed you have a plate for your receiver - where did that come from? Also during the pitch settings you said zero out the pitch gauge - where did you zero it out? Lastly, you set your pitch at 13 degrees, I fly sport with occasional inverted flight what degree would you recommend?
@@rjfetz1 I’m Glad this video was helpful! So I made that, I used the ESC tray that they give in the kit and drilled new holes in the frame and mounted it on top. The Goosky ESC bolts into the frame. I use a level surface. I built my table 100% Level for this reason, but you can use any part of the helicopter that’s level. So for sport flying I would recommend +12/-12 or +11/-11
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Okay, thx i did 11. I didn't get the esc tray in my kit. I called Patrick and he thought you may have 3d printed it. I don't have a 100 percent level surface. I guess I need to make one. I used the flight controller to zero my gauge.
Jeff I am using the GTS FBL on my Venom and I would like to know if you know how to setup Cyclic pitch using their app?
Thanks
Jeff - Finally got some flights on the RS4 - when I forward flip the tail blows out and makes a sharp piro until its upright.. Any idea how to tune that out?
Hey Steve, hmmm! That’s not good! What mm are you running the ball on the tail servo horn? 13mm? Try going out a hole or two on the horn and re set the tail up and try again.
@westhobbiesrc8051 - So, Nope horn is maxed out at the ball all the way out. Only Adjustment would be one hole inward.
Hi, dies this gyro have rescue mode?
Hi how do you reverse the tail gyro orientation thanks
@@killrertomato5392 check and make sure your tail is built right. If you have to reverse the gyro in your pitch links might be on the wrong side of your tail grips.
@@westhobbiesrc8051ohhh cause swash is fine but the tail ill make a check now thanks man
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Deyum your right hahaha what a save thanks brother sheesh haha
Just finished mine, flies great in normal but why I hit idle up it want to go inverted.m, any idea why? Thanks
What’s your pitch curve between normal and idle 1?
Normal mode I’m at 30(spektrum nx7e) Idle up I’m at straight linear.
I figured it out though, it was me. I’m having bad drift to the left. I’m correcting it by pulling right stick so when I hit idle up it wants to flip. So now I have to figure out why it drifts in auto level. Any ideas?
i have just finished building my goosky rs4 looking to see where to find setup info on there flight controller ,and if you got the comformation on the srxl receiver to be used in the heli ..thank you..
Find setup info like what? I go over how to setup the FBL. As far as I know, no. You can’t use a SRXL2 on this model. But I have no tired it yet. Just asking there design team.
Did you ask the design team about srxl2 receivers yet?
I know I'm late to the game but I'm buying this combo kit now and already have 7 brand new srxl2 remote receivers that I purchased for one of my turbine jet planes and never used them.
Hi Jeff, at the time 12m25s when you are adjusting the zero pitch, which position of flight mode switch do you use? Normal or Idle1?
It does not matter witch mode you are in as all modes will be zero at mid stick.
hey west i’ve been thinking about this heli as i have the s1 and s2 but have never built a heli kit before but have a hangar of about 13 fixed wing rc airplanes, can i translate these settings to a futaba radio as well?
Hello! Thank you for watching. If you follow the build videos you will not have issues with the build. So unfortunately Futaba is completely backwards to Spektrum but! You can use the video for setting up the FBL, just radio setup will be different.
@westhobbiesrc8051 so I gotta trim it during the flight, save the settings once it's landed and then restore the trims back to zero?
@@lionelcregut1222 no, never use radio Trims on a FBL heli. So a trim flight is a calibration flight. I’ve never done it in a Goosky but I’ll look and see how it’s done and let you know.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you I appreciate it! what puzzles me is that the heli is rock solid when the attitude mode is off , I could let go of the stick for 3 seconds and it would hover nicely, however in calibration mode it drifts a lot so not sure whats going on. I tempted to just just fly it without and call it a day and might upgrade to an Ikon later
can you tell me is there any way to reverse the gyro on the goosky controller mine is backwards it sits and does circles every thing else works as it should..thankyou ..keep the videos coming.
never mind i had the tail pitch sliders backwards{ my bad } flys great ..as always thank you..
Hi Jeff, do you happen to know the tail ratio for this heli?
Hello, Not exactly but it’s around 4.5 to 1
@westhobbiesrc8051 perfect for slow and fast headspeed. Thanks Jeff!
@@JJoeykeke yes it is! Tail performance is fantastic on this model. I’ve tired very low and high head speed and tail was rock solid.
Hello jeff, I have the nx8 and the swash set up in nomal. Left and right is correct but collective and forward and back is incorrect could you advise me how to
I’m having this same issue. Hope to hear something on how to correct it
Hello , my flb was faulty. I now use fc66250hx with 4651t. I sent the original one back and got money back for it.
Would use any of the spektrum F.c on any of builds that you are currently using icons
Dude!!!! This heli has a major collective deadband!!!! Unflyable. I have upgraded the software in the gyro and still has the same deadband issue if not worse!!!!! Do you know of a fix???? I'm thinking of selling it if I can't figure out.
I don’t know about major dead band lol but yes, it does have dead band. It is definitely not unflyable. I’ve got over 200 flights on mine so it’s obviously flyable. Just swap the FBL if your not It happy with it. Easy fix! Try negative expo.
Why didn't you use the Bluetooth setup isn't that as good.
Mainly because I didn’t have success with the S2 and it is just simple with the blinking lights.
As we talked about the Kate Bluetooth works really good but you setup is clear and does stress the compensation of the mail blades and tail.
Thanks!
