I appreciate the time you have spent to make this video so some of us don't end up getting sued because we failed to do more research on copyrights and licensing. Much appreciation. 🙏💯
Happy to help!
So helpful! Anyone trying to sell on a print on demand platform, or anyone helping sellers on a print on demand platform should watch this video and keep it handy for reference! Excellent! 💯

How do you give credit for the design on a T-shirt? Or is this something you would put in the listing description?
The listing description is the ideal placement for credit information, as long as it can be found if anyone needs to refer to the license. - Talish
So suppose if I am launching a new design on my brand and there is no restriction over the use of image rather than giving credit so I just have to write and give credit to the real owner/creator of it and I am done right???No copyright now...???
@@mayureshrabhadiya Hey, Yes, as long as that's the licensing type, adding credit to the description should be good.
Such a succinct explanation. Thanks so much!
absolutely incredible info! thank you so much

How does it work when crediting the artist? Should their name/handle be included in the print?
Hey! That's a great question. First check the license type to see how you're allowed to use the design. When crediting the artist, make sure to include their name, title of the work, a link to the original work, and license. The attribution should be somewhere visible, like in the product description. It doesn't necessarily need to be incorporated into your design. You can find more in-depth info about this on the Creative Commons website :) creativecommons.org/share-your-work/use-remix/
Great video- still confused by wether or not I need to make ANY changes to downloads from Pixabay if uploaded before January 2019 when it had a different CCO license.
Hi there! It's always best to double check as licensing for images changes all the time.
great content. ty

If an image only has a CC0 license, does it need to be edited/modified in order to sell it?
Hi there! The public domain which is covered under designation CC0, means that image can be used,
edited, and shared without any restriction.
@@Printify Thank you for answering. To clarify, they can be sold as is, without any alterations?
Hi! I am writing a book using Kindle print on demand. I want to use strikethrough on some words, do you know if they will show up properly in the book or will there be a font/format issue?
Hi there! This question is outside our scope of knowledge, but our best guess would be that it depends on the publishing settings in your kindle or whichever publisher you are using.
@@Printify Thank you for your time and answer!
Most websites like Unsplash, pexels have standalone thing in it. Can you please explain what does it mean?
Hi! We're not fully sure what your question is. Can you clarify, please? Many sites may have in their terms of service that you cannot sell designs if they are standalone, meaning you can't use the design by itself. It needs to be made unique with other elements or text.
So is it permissible to sell say suppose an image of a lion with my own motivational quote overlaid on it?
@@saishet2707 Hi again. You'd have to read the terms of service more in depth for whatever platform you are using to be sure. :)
Does adding some text around the image count as editing?
Hi ! This is an interesting question and indeed a grey area when it comes to CC. My first impulse is to say no and to instead pay attention to the distribution permissions for that image, as long as it's commercial, it should be fine. However if the licensing for that image specifically says that it cannot be modified but still can be distributed commercially, it would be better to get a hold of the artist and confirm. You don't want to be wrapped up in a potential lawsuit so better to be sure! - Talish
appreciate
on the other side, Printify is horrable when they missclassiy a design, and refuse to do the work even you provied them with information an proff it a common design and not copyrighted because it cant be. beware they more than happy to not do anything
Hi there! We take IP infringement very seriously and take steps to ensure both our merchants and the sales channels they use are protected from any potential issues. Please follow up with the USPTO or DMCA to confirm whether a design is licensed and under what terms.
