❤ Steve Perry can't go wrong with him with Journey or his solo career. Thank you for reacting to them. Steve still sounds great not the same, but still very good in his 70s. I grew up 20 minutes away from him and he went to school with my step-dad. ❤
I’m sitting here remembering the live concerts I went to in the 70’s and 80’s. Excellent choice for reaction my friend! Steve Perry is the VOICE!! 👵🏼💜☮️
Sharon....tell me a few! I saw Journey with Loverboy and Joan Jett!! And Styx, Rush, Luther Vandross, Tina Marie, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker....my parents took my and my sister to see the no. 1 Karen Carpenter in 74. The only good thing my parents did for us. Unfortunately my sister who had the voice of Karen died at 38.
Love Steve Perrys voice no matter how I can get it though his live performances are fire!! Steve Perry's energy and soul shine when he performs live. You feel the music and it's always uplifting❤
My favorite is the live version too I loved the way Steve plays with his voice. From this same concert you should check out Walks Like a Lady I think you will love it!
Thanks for doing my request. My favorite has always been that live version. The whole concert rocked. Another song I love from the same concert is Dixie Highway. It has a lot of energy too. I've only seen it reacted to once. I'd love to see you react to it. Love and hugs back to you ❤️ 🤗
you have to watch the Escpae tour Houston, all the songs are awesome. Steve is the best and the group's composition at the time couldn't be topped. Neal Schon underrated on the guitar, Jonathan Cean on the piano great but also the drums and bass perfect. Check out "Mother Fader" Live Houston, an orchestra couldn't produce a fuller sound, Steve just awesome...
Written by Robert Fleishman, Neal Schon and Diane Valory. RF was the lead singer before he quit. Diane Valory was the wife of Ross Valory, bass guitarist in that album.Great! Greg Rolie would continue playing until he retired in 1981. In 1991, he, Ross Valory and Steve Smith founded The Storm. Lead singer Steve Perry would release his 1st album in 1984. In 1987, Journey broke up. Jonathan Cain reunites with John Waite and Ricky Philips. They, along with Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo founded BAd English. Suggested videos. 🎥1 Steve Perry sings Foolish Heart 2 Bad English performs Straight to Your Heart 3 The Storm performs I've Got a Lot to Learn about Love
So sorry to hear about your dad, my man. Steve Perry - one of the greatest voices in rock 'n' roll. Studio versions are often preferable, for the purity of the song. The live versions, just for the pleasure of seeing the artists perform. Thanks for your reaction.
Steve Perry... OMG... one of the best ever.... Do not mess with him... My very first concert out of the Delaware State Fair... Saw Journey in 1983.. the Escape Tour... Philly... 15 yrs old... Mom made me go with my older sisters bf... he was so responsible... he was 19 and he got thrown up on by the higher deck... lol... To me.. the live here sounds just like the recorded version
I’ve got one for ya. The Band: Great White. The song: Rock Me! ( the studio album version). Quite possibly one of the BEST bluesy rock songs. The build up is EVERYTHING
Back then all we had were live performances that were taped. Now the official videos of the older artists are usually one of those live performances that the studio or artists considers the best version of the actual studio recording. No sound stages and elaborate videos until MTV made an appearance in 1981. Now MTV is more reality shows than music videos.
I suggest you reverse the order doing the original first then live because you can hear how they changed it easier when they add stuff live IMO then hearing what they cut for the studio and the lyrics are clearer almost always on the original. I saw them live at the Rose Bowl headlined with Blue Oyster Cult, Triumph and Aldo Nova and Steve sounded just as good live.
If you didn't catch it this time, next time listen carefully and you'll hear Steve Perry wailing along with the guitar solo ( unbelievable) he may even be a better singer than me,, he's known as the Voice and I've been called the Hinge!!
I’m so sorry that this version was recommended to you Rickk as it’s a much faster paced song than the original. Please check out the link for a far better video, in my opinion, of “Wheel In The Sky” performed on The Midnight Special in 1978. During the guitar solo, be sure to listen for Steve’s high pitched vocalization. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/UgeJ15aucdc/v-deo.html
Sometimes bands need to speed a song up to keep the concert going and alive. Plus it gives the band a way to play their songs how they might have wanted it.
15 .29 hes matching the guitar with his voice a beautiful thing happened
The most beautiful voice we will ever hear. Steve sounded just as good live as he did on recordings. Never missed a note.
Steve Perry is the "Voice". I love Freddie but Steve's voice is the best
Journey with Steve Perry will forever be my favorite all time band!!!!!!
Steve was always better live. He just loved to sing to an audience and get them involved. a true pro. Love your analysis.

excellent song choices, Mary! that live performance of Wheel in the Sky is one of my favorites 💕
@@lorigurney7280 Thanks. Journey is my favorite group. Ready for more
@@Mary-cz8pf mine also🥰
My fave Journey song!!!!!!
You need to catch them on Midnight Special in 78 doing Wheel.

Steve Perry sounds as good, if not better, live then on the albums. He is just an amazing singer.
Great reaction.
Love your reactions, baby.

I love the intro to the 1980 version, but I prefer the slower tempo of the official video

I hope you caught Steve going up his notes during Neal's guitar solo. Steve standing next to him and he got his voice higher than the guitar notes.

Steve Perry can sing the Bible!!!! The prima donna of Rock!!
Steve perry made journey
ya the live was sped up abit ,they had lots of hits to get through

I still prefer the original slower version of this song. 1978

I prefer the slower version live of Wheel In The Sky. Steve is phenominal in both.
I prefer the more rock songs over thier power ballads. But hey its win win
The Ballads just get more airplay.
Normal Music for me
why the audio so fast?
Your really not going to comment on Neil’s hair on the second video??
I definitely disagree. In most cases the studio version is better. Bands that sound the same better live are more of the exception.
