When I saw Poco on this tour I was in the first row in a BIG tent in Waterloo Village, NJ. When they played this, Randy came out to the stage about four feet frrom me and did this. You could have knocked me over with feather. Best concert moment of all time for me.

@@sblack48 They all collaborated and wrote songs. Each one of them song lines, tunes, beats and them they put it all together and start to refine each part. No single Eagles member wrote any song by himself it was all Team Work. That is why they were and are still successful.

Hotel California was a collaborative effort by Don Felder (music) Don Henley (lyrics), Glenn Frey had a cup of coffee with them during writing the song, so he got a credit. If you look on later pressings of the record, Felder, who’s name was first on song credits was slowly edged to the back and on some pressings not even mentioned. Not picking hairs, just shows how much Henley and Frey “Took it to the Limit” to gain all credit on anything Eagles, which with the help of their manager Irving Azoff hold a tightly clenched fist. Just my opinion from what I’ve read. Don’t get me wrong, Henley and Frey were creative geniuses (sp?) responsible for almost all of the Eagles success, but not all of it.

It’s my opinion that The Eagles would have remained a well-liked but relatively obscure folk rock band until Felder came into the mix. His musical ability, creativity and amazing guitar tone is what made Hotel California a sizzling album. Without Felder’s and Walsh’s contributions, just another band.

Never bought a Beatles album. I know my generation is supposed to love them but sorry they suck. See Joe Walsh's interview where mentions how easy their stuff is to play.

Randy RIP. He was truly a legendary musician in his own right. He had a great resume before he joined the Eagles. Sadly, this whole music drama with the Eagles is about greed and money.
They were a decent band in the 70's. That's it. Another classic rock band from the 70's who tour now and charges up to $2500 for tickets., They are finally hanging up their rock and roll shoes.
Thank God. Untill they finish their last tour (they keep saying they will retire and believe me, they will continue to tour and add dates as long as people are willing to give them lot's of money). The Eagles now are
a Tribute band with only one orginal band in group. Randy was in my opinion the best member of the band with his own incredible musical backround. (Ricky Nelson, Poco etc. )

@@jeffkahl That is because "the gods" were making the lions share of the money when their songs were featured over the other 3. Even when a song was ready, one or both would "change three to get a fee". Yet when changes were made to their side by the likes of Felder, he didn't get song writing credits like Frey & Henley.

Poco are a criminally underrated band. Absolutely nailed it guys.
Possibly because they had so many band member changes that it was different bands playing under the one name. Most those different line ups were excellent.
Randy has done this song with the eagles and without. It sounds so much better when he sings it than when Henley allows someone else to sing it today.

I can remember the first time I heard this song, I was so pleased with the world and with the people. But,..... I'm sorry to say we are finding a hard time to enjoy the song, and the freedom that we knew in those days. Thank God for the beautiful memories of such great song writers and the way we feel, and the way we believe when it comes to letting everyone live their life and be good friends. How hard is it to be friends?? How hard is it to just except each other and just help each other when trouble comes from Mother Earth. So sorry to ramble on. I would just love everyone on this planet to just see if we can share and love, because we have seen enough, and lived and I believe it's time to set down with the people who say they are all for us..... I think we have the right to find out how every cent is spent. And I believe that we, have the right to approve the spending and the politician's salary instead of their giving themselves a raise and a pat on the back. So sorry, I did it again. I was glad to protect this country and swear my life and soul. I still served, and I would do it again.
