I like ELT much better because it allows more flexibilty to change things. I agree it doesn't fully replace ETL. I like to think it makes that first T lowercase, or deemphasized. Do only enough transformation to get it loaded to the data lake/warehouse. Then the business logic transformations can be the main focus all in one ecosystem.
Of course it also always depends on what exactly you want to do. If it's a transactional use case and not an analytical one then the focus is on relational or NoSQL databases. Then you need ETL
Your comments on the topics gave me way more actual information than the source video. The source video seems heavily focused on style/entertainment and too little on actual information/education.
