I think these tanks were only for propaganda use. Or misguided leadership. Weapons can become too complex for practical purposes. Simplicity is often a better option. Close looks at the tanks do show some weaknesses in the design. Partly. it's armor protection. An active armor protection would be more effective than AA missiles. Ukraine's success has been largely and openly due to other countries having a strategic motivation to shadow fight back Russia and little to do with Ukraine leadership. I could rant about this topic for hours but turning it back towards NK, you bring up an interesting hypothetical comparison. Countries like Russia and China would actually strategically benefit from helping NK in a full conflict and you'd probably see similar success from NK to what we see in Ukraine due to shadow support from those other nations and not due to NKs failure regime.
