Shearing a huge Valais Blacknose Ram last Summer. Being such a big guy with so much wool, we have to take our time, but will my back last out holding up all his weight, it’s a tough one!
I became exhausted watching you shear that big boy. I almost fell off my chair when you said his weight! He is one beautiful ram and you are one incredible shearer! Oh my back and shoulders were feeling your pain. Beautiful shearing job Cammy. ❤❤
Very hard work, Cammy!! But you can stand back after you're finished, and pat yourself on the back and say job well done!! Keep the videos coming. I love the shearing content!!
Those the most beautiful sheep I have ever seen. At first, I couldn’t even tell what kind of animal Victor was! So pretty and so willing to be sheared. Great job from both of you!
Here in the states I have sheared many rams over 300 pounds and several in the 400 pound range. A 400 pound fine wool ram with 2 ft wide horns will really make you sweat.
I'm from the U.S.A., and the State of Iowa. Our state fair has three competitions that go on every year at the start of the fair. Biggest bull, biggest boar, biggest ram. The biggest ram at the 2023 fair weighed 437 pounds, and the 2nd place ram was 427 pounds. Yes, these big boys do exist! I watch Sheepishly Me, and that's how I found you.
Holy moly Cammy! That was a huge ram. He was, thank goodness , a confident calm subject to tussle with. His wool was so beautiful, it looked so fluffy, which I imagine is harder to shear. You did it !! Look at his conditioning, solid as a wrinkly brick. I love this breed. Would love to see him with his horns intact, what a beauty. However, imagine working around the curves and the added weight! Good job!! I like your shearing channel, as I learn about all the varied breeds. Hugs to the family. 🇨🇦🥰
He’s SO VERY BEAUTIFUL and that fleece and his chubby body…I think he’s lovely. Good job manoeuvring this ram into position. I think your calm steady firmness and how quickly you worked helped him settle into his beauty parlour appointment… PS…I would absolutely love that have that gorgeous fleece to work with!
Wow. That was a big job. It took me back to my youth. I’m 74. My dad was a sheep farmer. I live in south Australia. As a kid I would sit on the wool bails and watched mesmerised at the work the shearer’s did. It was my job to jump in the wool pen and press the wool down. As a 23 year old girl I lived and worked in Scotland for three months. Loved the Muccal coo cows. Wrong spelling. Thanks for the memories. 🦘
Geez O'Pete! I felt that back strain.. These breeds are getting bigger and bigger - soon you'll have to shear them standing up, like Right Choice Shearing does the llamas! 😁
I imagine the yarn from this type of wool is very soft! This makes me as a fibre artist appreciate more fully the work involved in processing wool..very impressed!
I wonder if the discrepancy is because very fine wool tends to clump together on the sheep, while coarser wool can resist and stay "fluffed" ? Not sure, but he was definitely very fluffy.
Cammy I really enjoy these shearing video's I take it the important part of this shear is the Ram rather than any speed. He was definitely very chilled, but you both ken each other by now. Great video as usual, hope you're no in too much pain. Thanks fae the Doon Valley 🏴
I had no idea there was so many different breeds of sheep until I started watching these types of channels!! Victors wool looks so soft and fluffy! Great job! 😊👍
Well done with shearing Victor, Cammy! He is indeed a massive monster of a ram, but he was quite calm and patient too, a testament to your skill in handling him gently and confidently. It was obvious that Victor was a difficult sheer by his size along, much less all that wool, not a square centimeter of his body was bare, and that wool looks soft and sticky [lanolin and texture I mean] so the need for second cuts was obvious and unavoidable. Victor was a good boy tho, he could ahve tossed you around easily, but he just endured your presence, lol. Love these shearing videos, and I've come to love the Valais Blacknose thanks to your videos too, they are cute but also seem like calm, almost docile sheep to have. Thanks for sharing this adventure, Victor is so huge, he was like mowing a whole island with a push mower!
Thank goodness he is so placid! My lower back began to ache just watching! Great job Cammy. Time for a lie down and a cuppa (or beer😉)! Love the shearing vlogs. 🇦🇺
You did an amazing job Cammie, I didn’t see one nick, I don’t think a lot of people could have done that job with all those wrinkles without at least one nick!!! You’re awesome 😎
ahhhhh .. I thought that was his .. ummm .. tail? No, I mean real tail .. then .. oh? Wot's that then? ahhhhhh .. now I see. lol hashtagnotafarmgirl .. coughcough
Wow! He’s a big boy! Good job getting that big boy sheared. I’m much smaller than you and I would definitely need help. I think I’ll stick to the ewes.
My back was hurting.. a tough job.. beautiful shearing job. You have always been a joy to watch. When you had competitions when shearing was fun to watch. Either competing or working, you guys eased at times. I love to crochet with wool. That’s looks so soft. Like cashmere.
As a hand spinner I’m interested in all aspects of wool production and how it all comes to be in my hands. I was trying to see the crimp in his fleece but had trouble because my phone screen is small. I wish you would talk a little about the quality of each fleece and why it is what you see/feel. I love watching your technique and how well the animals respond to you. Keep the great videos coming
Isn't Victor just such a big, handsome boy. OMG, my back was hurting watching you manoeuvre him around. Great job, Cammy. They are the best-looking sheep around.
What beautiful white wool. I have never seen this breed of sheep before. We usually had Columbia or Suffex. When I was a kid, my sisters and I would be the wool stompers. The wool would make our feet so soft as we didn't wear shoes ..... that is until we ran into a bundle that had a lot of large stickers .... then the shoes were put back on ...
Victor! Do you always shear at this farm? I think that’s how I stumbled upon your main channel in early 2020. Another incredible feat, my back hurts just thinking about it!!
OMG Cammy That was your workout for the next few weeks I bet Victor felt better as well Carrying all that wool must be an issue 🏴🏴🏴🏴👍 👍 👍 😍😍😍
Oh Cammy….when you were finished I recognized that ‘back pose’. Hope your back is ok? Beautiful ram, but obviously much harder to shear. Is there anything to be done with this type of wool? I’ve heard wool doesn’t get used for much anymore bc it doesn’t go for much of a price. Thanks Cammy…I so enjoy these vids….from Nashville, Tennessee 🙏🏻🫶🏻🐏xx
Yeah, this job requires a very good shape back. Just seing this, my back hurts. But I'm loving this!! Sheeps are so cute and magestic at the same time!
I raised Wensleydales my rams were huge as big if not bigger than that boy, naturally polled so no horns but finding a shearer who would shear long wool was my issue.
I became exhausted watching you shear that big boy. I almost fell off my chair when you said his weight! He is one beautiful ram and you are one incredible shearer! Oh my back and shoulders were feeling your pain. Beautiful shearing job Cammy. ❤❤
Smooth operator ❤
Is wool the primary purpose for having this breed of sheep?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great Job, Cammy. The owners should have taken the opportunity to trim that ram's hooves while you had him tipped.
Victor looks like a polar bear. What a handful and you did it beautifully 👍😊👍
Victor is one BIG BOY! Great job! Beautiful fleece! 🐏😍👏👍
What a gorgeous ram. 🐏🥰🥰
What a good job, well done Cammy.
💪💪💪😉

You yanks. Always bigger and better, eh?
Yeah n in their sparetime they wreck the globe bc of fun............

❤I'm thinking That is Fantastic looking wool and I wish I had some to crochet a scarf for the cool winter weather 🐏
Great Job shearing.

😮 very large ram! Great job! My back hurt just watching you!
I impressed by how you sheared this sheep, very professional 🎉

Cammy that boy was a lot of work. I just love this breed.

Seriously impressive on so many levels!

Their wool is considered coarse, suitable for making into carpeting, and felting.
@@susangrande8142😮😮 it looks so soft; appearance is deceiving…
I wonder if the discrepancy is because very fine wool tends to clump together on the sheep, while coarser wool can resist and stay "fluffed" ? Not sure, but he was definitely very fluffy.
What a good boy he was. He knew you were there to help him. Great work! Thanks for this video.
Beautiful ram and the only shearer to do him justice. Great work!
Good Job, Cammy.
Back and all. lol
That wool is like cotton candy. Beautiful stuff!!!
Cammy I really enjoy these shearing video's
I take it the important part of this shear is the Ram rather than any speed. He was definitely very chilled, but you both ken each other by now.

What a handsome boy Victor is!!! Love that wool! ❤️🇦🇺🏴
First ram I've ever seen that has nearly as much personality as Cammy. What a hunk of gorgeous!
Victor is superb !! i love how relax is he

Beautiful job. You were gentle yet firm and Victor seemed to relax and enjoy the shearing. Excellent work.
Thank goodness he is so placid! My lower back began to ache just watching! Great job Cammy. Time for a lie down and a cuppa (or beer😉)! Love the shearing vlogs. 🇦🇺
His wool is just gorgeous! Such a good boy 🐏 for you! He was so pink when you finally got finished!
Yikes! Your poor back! What a magnificent animal Victor is. Well done on the shearing, Cammy.
Man, Sorry for the heavy ram. I felt pretty ASMR on this side comfortably eating my donut and coffee while watching. I sub and like. Thanks.
I think you’re fabulous!!! Good job on a massive ram laddie!!! Sending respect from Santa Barbara, California, USA♥️‼️🥰☮️🙋♀️
What a beautiful ram!! Watching you wrestling him made me think you won't have any problem handling Jock and Angus!!
That fleece was magnificent, as was he!!!! Gorgeous!!!
Really good job. I was feeling your back pain. You are tougher than me! Respect!🎉
You did an amazing job Cammie, I didn’t see one nick, I don’t think a lot of people could have done that job with all those wrinkles without at least one nick!!! You’re awesome 😎

That looked exhausting you very earned your pay! :)
Not sure who was grunting more, Victor or Cammie
Unfortunately I think it's Cammie.
Big boy getting a haircut 😅amazing job well done💪👍🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
You are a brave and careful operator. You are worth double what they are paying you. Great job.
Tough job and do beautiful work.
His wool is gorgeous, but poor baby, you scalped him to the skin!🫣😂. Great job Cammy 🥰
My pet sheep, a Barbados hair sheep, was also called Victor so I loved seeing this big boy get his haircut!
I feel with you, we have valois blacknose 😅

That was a huge job! What a beautiful Ram! His fleece is lovely!
What beautiful white wool. I have never seen this breed of sheep before. We usually had Columbia or Suffex. When I was a kid, my sisters and I would be the wool stompers. Black Nose are awesome, the lambs are just so much fun to watch as they seem to bounce everywhere! That Ram was massive
Victor! Do you always shear at this farm? I think that’s how I stumbled upon your main channel in early 2020. Another incredible feat, my back hurts just thinking about it!!

Incredible shearing. Could virtually feel the weight and effort going into the process.
Oh Cammy….when you were finished I recognized that ‘back pose’. Hope your back is ok? Beautiful ram, but obviously much harder to shear. Is there anything to be done with this type of wool? He was very chilled out just lying there
Love you videos
Keep them up
I can’t wait for the lambing videos
I'm just drooling over the fleece.
I raised Wensleydales my rams were huge as big if not bigger than that boy, naturally polled so no horns but finding a shearer who would shear long wool was my issue.
