Gut instinct for the win. Local vintage "flea" market CL ad about two years ago had a ratty copy of ASM 99 visible. Gut told me to go. Hulk 181 (later graded as 6.5) for $15. I doubt I'll ever beat it - although the New Mutants 98 for a dime at a yard sale a decade ago is a close 2nd.
Marvel premire 21 is the first appearance of Misty knight you got lucky with that one. They probably had #19 as well (first Colleen wing) but I'd be too nervous to look for lower tier keys if I seen a sabreooth book for that price 😂 nice pickups!
Hi! new to your channel and not sure if you will even see this comment, but what are your tips for going to an estate sale where it's advertised that it's ONLY comics? How do you approach it if there are many many long boxes? Do these estate sellers organize them well (i.e alphabetize them at least?) It seems like a madhouse if everyone is just going through and looking for major keys. Thanks if you reply.
I’ve actually never been to one like that… My guess is that most probably WONT alphabetize them. In that case it will always be a madhouse im sure. Personally id get there early early, keep my head down, and focused on the books in front of me. It will always be a madhouse lol especially all comics
@@paperchasecomics thanks for the quick reply! Actually looking at your other videos and find it very informative. Congrats on that Iron Fist #14! For those big collections, would you try to look for ‘big’ keys or go for those ‘smaller’ keys. Would you make a ‘hit list’? Like you said, a mad house! I’ve never been, but I wonder how cordial people are at estate sales. Keep up the good work!

How do you find these state sales? And how do you know they have comics before you get there
Estatesales.net
Search your zip.
Most sales post photos of items sold Nd you can input your email to get notified when they’re in your area.

I would grab any key issue at an affordable price. No list
What website do you use to find the estate sales? Did this particular sale advertise comic books?
Estatesales.net
Yes they had photos of a few books. They typically dont photograph all though
