I used to drive a 2011 Ford Focus, it had one of these 'dual clutch' things in it... never again. I test drove a 118 X1... when leaving for the test drive, i needed to brake as someone ran a red light, then get on the accelerator to merge into traffic... the dam thing paused...then LURCHED violently forward before heading off. I was NOT impressed, the rest of the car is actually quite good! In Australia...the M35i 2.0ltr comes with the Torque Converter Auto. Either that or the electric version will be the pick. I am not a fan of dual clutch self shifting manuals.
Hello Denver, I noticed that you didn't mention anything about the new voice activation process. I really like the new key fob. I also like how the locks automatically as you walk away. My BMW representative has already suggested that I make this car my next choice. I really like the car.
I find the voice activation to be laking, it is better than almost all on the market but not fast enough for me. The proximity locking is the best feature.
Did you say the M sport gives you the 8 speed, not the dual clutch. A lot of negative comments on the dual clutch. Better gas but clunky and delayed acceleration. Savage Geese considers it a safety issue.
@@MR_SPICYon the 28i??? As far as I know the Canadian/US model are the one and the same, 7 speed dual clutch - not 8 speed torque converter as that configuration will not fit within the x1 engine bay.

yes. 8 speed auto transmission is in the M sport package.
