  • In this video I open up the Worker Seagull Nerf blaster and install CNC metal parts from Sabre in Singapore.
I also plug the hole in the plunger tube.
After upgrading the blaster, I test it with Worker Rifling and then two different Sabre riflings, a SCAR and BCAR.

Instead of removing the grip like that, you can flip up bottom corner of one side of the rubber grip to reveal the bottom screw. Remove the screw. Flip the blaster around and do the same. This releases the metal part of the grip and should allow the rubber grip to slide off.

Man I love the look, sound, design, and I’m sure sturdiness of a lot of 3D printed springers… Being a budget Nerfer, I can’t bring myself to snag one when I can get a X Long to 260fps for $50 total. Wish I had more expendable income 😂 Fantastic video!

This isn't a 3D printed blaster, but I can definitely see where you're coming from. Mass produced injection molded blasters like the ones from Worker are definitely more economical to buy than a 3D printed blaster.

I’ve seen that some peoples bcars make a whiz noise after a dart passes through because the bearings are spinning so fast, but with the one in the video and my personal ones, the bearings do not spin or do so slowly. Do you know why?

    • @BradleyPhillipsYT
      @BradleyPhillipsYT  9 місяців тому +2

Possibly the type of bearings. Some don't actually use true bearings but use other things like rivets. Or those ones could be contacting the plastic housing. Not a sound I've experienced with the BCARs I've tested, including Foamwork Adelaide and even the initial Chinese ones.

I want to talk to you all about barrel coatings
Coming back to this video after upgrading my seagull with a:
260mm barrel i cut down and recrowned from the included 310mm barrel
    t238 tracer bcar
    1.6x300mm spring
Sabre metal catch, priming block and still waiting on my metal plunger on backorder
But what I'm interested in sharing with you guys is that I've been experimenting with barrel treatments (not waxing them lol)
Frog lube is a food grade metal protectant and lubricant used in the firearm industry. One applied correctly it leaves an almost undetectable film on the material that makes parts extremely slick. After treating my barrel with frog lube and letting it cure overnight I'm shooting a high of 270 fps with an average of 248 over a ten shot test group. Lowest power shot was 187 but I don't think I seated the pusher all the way.
I feel it would be worth doing a more in-depth study into barrel coatings like this that are super easy to apply and maintain but I'm limited to a Chrono that doesn't go to decimal points and I don't feel I could provide the best data in depth.
I was curious @BradleyPhillipsYT if you have ever done any testing with barrel coatings?

    • @BradleyPhillipsYT

It is twice the weight of the stock plunger rod, so possibly. Though it is padded, the entire power train is metal, and the shell itself is thicker than anything you'd find from Dart Zone, Nerf or Xshot.

@@BradleyPhillipsYT I think it would be easy to modify any existing blaster. And the capacity would be higher with smaller darts. Wide adoption would make them lower priced based on the dart needing less material to produce. Im just wanting a dart that is more aerodynamic has a boat tail for a high ballistic coefficient. Just squeezing out every bit of performance out of this round while maintaining the same FPS limits 250 fps to 300 fps not exceeding 400 FPS. Look at the first strike paintballs. These have fin stabilizers. people claim to hit 100 yds or more. Look at the Minié ball or Minie ball coupled with rifling compared to the round balls shot out of smooth bore muskets. Half darts are blunt and very bad at aerodynamics. We streamline this Dart lower its weight give it a boat tail make it more aerodynamic and give it good rifling we can have a real winner. EPP foam would work fine. The lower weights would make its be more affected by wind yes but if the dark is spinning fast enough and is shaped right it will shoot farther and more accurate but won't hit as hurt as bad as a 1 gram half dart or a .68 caliber paintball.
