One thing I have notice with great coaches in sport they are also great human beings. John is so positive, intelligent and humble throughout this lesson which makes me think it would be near impossible to play worse golf after having a lesson. John doesn't seem to be one of the guys who has the answer but is willing to explore to get the best answer for a particular situation. I have often been critical of the basement golf gurus that BBG has had on the channel but its guys like John that keeps me subscribed. Good work and thanks for posting

For me the most important statement in the video
"thats part of the beaty of the golf, everybod's searching for something's"
That's also why I love golf

I think it would be useful to think about what you are more afraid of. That will highlight your motivation. My guess is that you are more afraid of the hosel than you are of the pull. So the closed face is safer and your mind-body knows that. Eliminating the underlying fear is necessary to erase an unwanted pattern. Recently I’ve been hitting smother hooks (with driver). The real issue is that with the fault I was having, the bigger threat was the center face block. I couldn’t undo the smother without realizing that.
Ultimately there was a path issue that was at the root, but the repeated pattern of that you have will speak to the safer option.
    Hope all is well,
    Alan

"Why chase a picture if you can hit the shots? The ball doesn't know." Best. Advice. EVER!
I think Bobby Clampett says something similar: he doesn't teach style, he teaches you to get the workhorse (pivot) down to impact.

Would you be able to centralize audio in future videos? I’m noticing a lot of your videos have one person speaking in the left ear, and the other in the right ear. Sorta makes it hard to listen to it using headphones.

Striking the ball is about timing...
    Timing is about balance...
If you stand up straight then lower your left shoulder you will feel the weight shift straight down into the left hip....
This balance point is Key to the takeaway...
Everything can happen naturally instead of forcing it....(forcing it is the idea we are out of balance- the timing is off)
I swung the club for 3 hours effortlessly last night with an extremely consistent low point and no body aches at all after..
In the takeaway as the lead shoulder drops, it's important to not let the weight shift to the trail foot....
Let it work into the lead hip then you can feel that pressure in the lead leg and from there it's the step drill

Just wondering why you feel the need to add to the instruction? Your written description doesn't make sense.

16:25 have you seen jacobs 3D golf?
He talks about alpha and beta forces....
Alpha is vertical Beta is Horizontal....
Beta force of the right wrist in the takeaway was my illuminating moment before standing between two guys yesterday who had no clue how to use the lower body.
Thinking about their extremes, one swayed back and through and the other couldn't get back to his lead side, he just loaded up like a baseball player and tried to brace off the front leg with no weight on it to turn the hips.
I realize I need ground force but also need to "quite" the lower body....
The Only way I could imagine was to keep the weight on the lead side longer in the takeaway....
    Gold I tell you

Why do we lower our body to jump? It gives the opportunity to accelerate up and jump higher. So, staying on the lead side is like jumping without lowering. Good for short shots but will not help create speed in full shots

    • @myaccount3402
      @myaccount3402 2 місяці тому

@@martynzlI like the analogy of jumping...
The weight is distributed more evenly, it's not just staying on the front leg like a stack and tilt thing or just loading the back leg and pushing off one leg...
Maybe I'm peculiar in the sense I throw a ball with my left hand, but swing the club as a right hander
essentially we could reverse what you're saying and make it about the back leg....
If All your weight is on that leg, it's jumping without lowering as well no?
this was my struggle, I tried getting the weight to my back leg early but would be stuck, or get hip slide pushing off it...
I'm sure you've heard teachers saying you're not getting back to your lead leg Soon enough...
That's me, so the longer I keep the weight feeling like it's on the lead leg, it's only to about hip high, it gives me more energy to transfer to the back leg without getting stuck there....

If they are all top players and they all release differently, what should that tell us?? (It means we have to find another 'magic' thing to sell golfers that want to buy a swing.) NICE STUDIO!!!
