4:10min. BTS (behind the scenes) embedded in each story block. A full scope of the story in one place. Smart. Thank you.
Very cool... I always enjoy seeing behind the curtain
Neato presentation and the theater looks fun. You’re welcome at any BBQ I’m at.
You’re a cool guy man. As a teacher, you spoke my truth. Thank you for this insight; and what an amazing way to showcase what Character Animator can do.
I just used character animator for an animation if a character promoting Baltimore improv festival, so I was really happily surprised that you spent some time in Baltimore. You're having a positive impact here still 😍
Now, I like your channel even more!👏👏👏
Thank you for inspiring me and others!
Man every time I think of doubting, you pop up with something like this😓. Thanks Man!!
Good on you Dave to tell it like it is (the disparity in educational facilities in the US).
This has to be the best video you've made so far! Absolutely Beautiful!
That’s a great story. As a product of a troubled school like the one you worked at, you have my thanks for the hard work you put in.
Thank you, Dave. What an amazing journey. Thank you for sharing. You are my hero.
Extremely heart warming video. You really are the man. Congratulation on everything, you earned it.
You're an amazing human being. Keep doing whatever makes you happy ♥
I really love your work keep it up and I'm always looking forward to the things you guys are going to make.
What a great video Dave! I loved learning about your journey, and it is so sweet that your whole family can do theater together.
Wonderful story!!! When I have watched your tutorials I kept asking myself, "Where did this guy develop this great teaching approach?" Now I know more. Thanks so much!
I have taught in public schools with low socioeconomic demographics for 11.5 years. It is without a doubt the hardest thing to do. I am looking into ways to get out of the classroom. I have used Character Animator in lessons and for an after school animation club. I absolutely LOVE it. That you for sharing your story with this wonderful video! I find it very inspiring.
I am hoping to apply the the Adobe Creative Residency Program for 2022-2023, but am beginning to wonder if Adobe will be doing it this year. The applications usually open around May and they still have not.
I absolutely love Adobe products and am having an absolute blast learning the software - and for that I must thank you because you have been my teacher for Ch. So thank you very much Dave.
This is so inspirational! Really loved how you embraced your kids passion for theater instead of sports. I suck at sports & it hurt My self esteem as a kid. Ironically at 60 years I am running my 5 th marathon. By trying new stuff we make new stories that make a positive impact. It all ties together. This is wonderful story Dave & a great Dad!
Absolutely love it!
Been a big fan of your tutorials and showcases over the years. It was really awesome to hear about your story, accomplishments and getting out of your comfort zone to try out new things. Definitely gonna keep a lot of this in mind the next time I start something completely outside of my skillset and expertise. Keep up the amazing work! 😄
Thank you for sharing your story!😌❤️
Absolutely inspiring and touching glimpse into your past and present life Dave. You are a fantastic teacher and role model. Keep doing what you are doing. I really love the name of this segment- "Pivotal Moments".
Just Wow........... Mesmerizing and inspiring. Thanks Dave
You’re the man Dave! Great video
Wowow! What a great video (and life) on every level. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing!
Really beautiful story telling and a great way to showcase how every part of your journey matters, even the parts you leave behind. ❤
Great personal story Dave! Some home truths really resonated with me to take action.
This right here is inspiration for life! Thanks for sharing.😀
Wow, this was so cool to learn about, thank you for your hard work on educating kids. I always hope for my young one to have positive influences at school
Awesome stuff!
Love your story Dave! You got me hooked on Adobe Character Animator, and it is unbelievable how much I have learned and capable of doing now. Thanks again, and hope that you get bigger roles in your acting career!
🔥 as usual
Hi Dave I have to say, I am a big fan of your CH tutorials and it inspired me to start my own channel with videos made with CH, I even started a freelance animator career and getting paid to make animations and videos, my clients here in Hong Kong are very impressed with animations I made with character animator. So thank you and keep going!!
This is like whoa! Pivotal moments!
Love it.
Great message presented beautifully. Thanks for all you bring. :)
Great inspirational video Dave! The drama piece got me as I have some thespians in my crew at home. How cool. Keep us the great content!
Nice! School of Rock is up next for us!
What a really engaging and interesting story.
Nicely done, sir.
Thank your for sharing, you give me nice ideas for my own children's website. TXs Dave
Wow, it's a very interesting experience.. you deserve all the success. I wish you and your family more success.
Very cool
Love what you did here sir. I student taught English but after I student taught I decided it wasn't for me. Been using Photoshop since I went to high school and built websites. It's pretty cool that someone else in this world had a similar experience. It's great to see that your family remains the most important to you. Many people choose work over family. Family always comes first. Everything you mentioned with the interview stuff, is so true. I remember that as well. Now everyone just throws it online. Love seeing how your life story was written, but it's still being written. What will happen next? :)
Subscribed, we are going to be learning everything about character animator(and maybe animate also) and making something awesome and it looks like your videos are going to help.
nice video!
I have performed in a musical before, and now I am learning Adobe Character Animator. It's inspirational that richer life experience could make you more creative.
Wow 🎉This was a lovely and inspiring presentation of your self 🌟⭐️ you really got your one style in this drawing’s,loved it 🙏 And nice to now some more about your life path 😇🎵
Didn't know you did TFA - really sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. You remain a natural and impressive teacher - just doing it on the grand scale now. :)
And the rest of your storytelling here is both authentic and amazing. Well done!!!
Thank you for sharing your story, it is so inspiring!! You need to speak at TED!
This is such a cool and simplistic style! How did you do the drawing portions where is looks like you're making it in real time? 2:03 is a great example of what I've been trying to make, but mine looks far less impressive (I've just been revealing the finished art with masks and paths in AE, but I couldn't figure out how to make parts of it reveal first before the others like you did).
Thanks for any pointers!
Thanks! So I do all my drawings in Adobe Fresco on an iPad Pro. It automatically takes a timelapse of everything you do, so you can export out a video at the end. Then I just used a multiply blend mode to remove the white background, and keyframes in After Effects to make it slowly scale up or down. It's a great way to make illustrations look more engaging for videos!
I made a documentary on the Battle of Gettysburg using character animator. It’s 55 minutes long. A few days later, I took a 13 minute excerpt from it and released that. The excerpt video has 4 times the views of the full length video, so I guess shorter videos are better. 18,000 views in about 5 weeks. Not too bad.
do you have a link for that? i would be interested in seeing that.
You are an inspiration to many and you are an amazing teacher, hats off to you. I just had a question about your live action and 2D animation combo. Is it possible to animate objects not only characters. Like a soccer ball into a field to make it look like the live-action actor and the 2D animated character are playing together? If so what software would I use and would I need to hand draw each key frame or can I use adobe animate, create the animation and edit it in through after affects like you do in adobe character animator.
Thanks! I would probably use Character Animator for the character and composite everything in After Effects.
@@okaysamurai Oh thankyou so much :)
That's really cool. The older I get the more I'm afraid to perform in front of people. You seem to be the opposite. That's really cool.
hello, how did you make this video, because it has a background video.
CH + AE. ua-cam.com/video/MUtRnMMOTmo/v-deo.html goes into more detail about this workflow.
Kinda wish we were friends in real life.
It actually really means a lot that you respond, Dave. Thank you.
Hi sir can you help me to learn adobe character animation? Sir, can you please refer me to some tutorials so that I can learn adobe character animation in one month.
