I somehow forgot or maybe just overlooked that ash twin warp exists lmao I learned consistent hot shots because i forgot the ash twin warp towers existed
Taking your ship there and being able to jump from the ship to the sun station merits an achievement, so it's understandable why people would do it that way. This way is just...Sadistic, almost.
Oh god please no. The timing on this has to be perfect or you'll easily miss. Not even to mention the flying skills this takes once out of the shuttle.
@Jean-Malabar Not everyone remembers the individual characters, for me they kinda blended together because they're all only represented through text (and I'm more interested in what they're talking about)
In Outer Wilds the training wheels are off, no trajectory lines, wildly amplified gravitational scales, and limited thrust capabilities make this game much harder than KSP IMO.
@@c4sualcycl0ps48 Yeah another complication is that: apparently only the sun has a gravitational force that scales with 1/r^2, all the planets and the comet have a gravitational force with a linear dependance on distance.
Heh, it's definitely closer to the latter than the former. There aren't that many viable launch windows to the near orbit of the Sun (unless you go for something fancy involving the other planets), basically you have a single launch window per rotation of the Ember Twin, so it was just a matter of seeing which one of those made the most sense :) Glad you liked the flight! Outer Wilds is an amazing game.
Pye would be so proud of you. Absolute Madlad. Using the Nomai’s own ship to land on the Sun station. The complete opposite of how they intended you to reach it
This is such perfect absolute skill, you could make the entire human hearthian and Nomai races very jealous. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would say you may be Pye reincarnated.
At first i was like "holy shit they're gonna line up the ember twins and line up the trajectory" but holy shit i didn't expect you to recall the nomai ship and take that, bravo my fellow hearthian, bravo
I don't remember how long it took, several hours though. The Sun Station wasn't the only target I was looking at when messing around with the launch timings.
At first I was thinking “cue classic ‘Interstellar’ docking scene,” then you jumped out to catch it and I instantly thought, “nope, Mark Watney moment.”
new players doing everything in their power to avoid learning about the ash twin warp:
I didn't come here to get called out.
You know damn well why noone waits for that.

Some poor soul is going to search "How do you get to the Sun Station in Outer Wilds??" and come across this video thinking it's the solution.
Oh god please no. The timing on this has to be perfect or you'll easily miss. Not even to mention the flying skills this takes once out of the shuttle.
That's why it is recommended to play the game completely blind to find the solution yourself
Pye would be losing her mind if she saw this happen

Amazing flight, you must have spent 10 hours doing math.. or 10 hours figuring it out the deadly way

My jaw dropped when you looked at the map that last time, seeing both trajectories align so well. Amazing job!!
I tried to land on the quantum moon with the shuttle on brittle hollow because I thought that was how you did it. I knoe the pain of this
same friend
I wonder if you can lock the nomai ships gravity to the quantum moon (assuming you solved the mystery of the quantum moon first)
@@LethalLuggageYou can land on the QM with the nomai shuttle. It's how I did it the first time.

This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen
Well done dude, that's impressive!
I've gotten the Hotshot achievement, but this is on a whole other level!
Yeah the hotshot achievement was pretty wild but this is way more complicated. I don't want to know how log this took.

this is insane and I love it

I'm curious if the shuttle's third toggle would allow you to dock, or if it would beeline for the sun...
i wonder if landing the shuttle itself onto the sun station platform would be possible
dude this is a sick way to get hotshot
This is magnificent.
