For those of you struggling, after you get the tool totally inserted DONT PULL ON THE TOOL, JUST THE PIPE. The tool will but up against the ridge that you’re attempting to slide the fitting off of. It just comes right off. So. Easy. But it took me an hour to figure that out.
I been trying all day to get mine off. I wasnt pushing in. I was turning it. Its late at night. I went out there and had it off in 30 seconds. After watching your video. Thank u so much.
Good video. It took me about 10 minutes to take off the right side (white). & about 25 mins for the left side (black). I couldn’t get a good grip on the tool on the left side. I used a small slide hammer with a hook & put the hook behind the tool & it finally came off. I used “Lisle” part# 39190, 3/4” Heater Disconnect For GM & it’s metal & has a pin to keep the two halves together. I got the LISLE tool @ Oreillys for $14. I also sprayed WD-40 inside the hose connectors & tool.
PLEASE HELP⚠️⚠️⚠️ Can I just connect directly the hose without the the valve??? I’m currently stuck in a small town in Mexico and it’s very hard to find parts, specially like these ones…
If we bypass the connector and go straight to the tubing on the core, then where would the refrigerant line hook up? Is it a matter of just putting a "T" fitting in as well?
Confused. Most of these new parts have the white basket release inside. Yours did not and you slid the plastic piece onto metal heater core. What locks it in place? Also, using the tool to get the piece off the heater core I did not see the white release BASKET COME OUT EITHER. Thought that was a needed part to secure connection. 2 hrs into watching videos. Onward.
I agree. If that's all you have, that's all you have but you should use a spring clamp. It is self adjusting with expansion and contraction through heat cycles and much easier to use.

Skip the plastic fitting and just slide hose on and clamp to heater core
For the love off god I can’t get it off with that tool
Very good video. It would be helpful to include the size of the tool I can't seem to get the right fit in there
Those Dorman quick connectors failed and slid right off. Ended up just connecting the hoses to the inlet and outlet with hose clamps.
very cool 🙏🙏🙏 thank you so much. it was just the video I needed.
Thanks was able to fix my truck great video
Just what I needed to report the rear heater core hose line on my 08 Tahoe!
Same procedure for the other hose as well?
Worked super fast. Thank you!!
PLEASE HELP⚠️⚠️⚠️
Can I just connect directly the hose without the the valve???
I’m currently stuck in a small town in Mexico and it’s very hard to find parts, specially like these ones…
I still can't understand why people install the plastic ones. Few dollars more to get the metal one and tlot would never need replaced again.
is the left hose the inlet or outlet?
Is it the same for both sides
Are both hoses the same?
I don’t need to bleed the coolant from air?
If we bypass the connector and go straight to the tubing on the core, then where would the refrigerant line hook up? Is it a matter of just putting a "T" fitting in as well?
Is replacing the other side any different?
You can connect the hoses to the heatercore without the plastic piece
What’s the hose on the left ?
You can do that with both hoses?
Is the one to the left the same?

I'm about to rip mine the f--k of the firewall, I cannot get the left side off, no basket and I have 2 different types of disconnect tools any ideas.
dumb question, im just here to find out if thats the inlet or outlet that hes working on
it's weird to me that you suggest a hose clamp instead of a spring clamp
I agree. If that's all you have, that's all you have but you should use a spring clamp. It is self adjusting with expansion and contraction through heat cycles and much easier to use.
Spring clamps are usually for turbos or air intakes
What about the hose next to it ?
So now to get the connector off since the hose and old clamp broke off apparently.
Thanks for the vid helped me out
Can someone answer if you take both off. I see two? Help before I freeze to death😅
I cut mine with a sawzall
