I'm a mobile DJ in need of a software controller upgrade and I basically spent $1,200+ on my new 13" Macbook pro for a new controller. I think I've made up my mind on what controller I wanna get. I have a friend with the NS7 and that thing is awesome. Can't wait to get one of these controllers.
Indeed! All music is being recorded internally in Serato DJ, and you'll notice I've got an in-ear monitor in my left ear; I'm just listening to the overall mix output through the controller. Recording like that means I can have a clean audio feed of the music, without playback interfering with my microphone recording.

Numark should come out with a Ns74 with dual usb and have the platters with led ring like denon sc5000m plus a touch screen dashboard, send and receive making this industry first controller with that feature. Numark should call me I have lots of idea lol! DJ raylove

I own the ddj sx. Bottom line, if you just want to mix, pay a little less which is shocking.. then get the Pioneer. If you want to do any sort of decentscratching or even quick beat juggling go with the numark. The ddj sx has a platter lag where if you put your hand on it in vinyl mode and it stops, it takes around 2/4 of a second to continue playing.. I'm not quick by any means in beat juggling and even I found it to be a little slow
When they stop making the NS7ii & NS7iii, they will become sought after classics like the tech 1200s & 1210s. Prices will skyrocket soon after. I just want to say that the NS7ii feels better built than the iii due to having thicker metal surrounding the edges, Its bombproof, and will not dent so easily which is better for gigging djs. So just add screens to the NS7ii if you really need to. If you will be using strictly at home, then for sure go with the slightly less durable NS7 iii.

I have found an used NS7 II less than AUD 400 , I am bit worried about the software support as it will work until Serato DJ pro version 2.3.1 and it is almost 10 years old model. Do you still recommend for NS II. or should consider DDJ SX2/SX3 which works with latest Serato version according to Serato website. please help to to take a decision. I am a beginner and wondering will I miss any interesting feature other than stems
as much as i love my ns7, i dont think i'll be upgrading to ns7 2. I'm in a process of selling my ns7 and upgrading to ddj sx instead. I dont like the fact how heavy heavy the ns7 is and bulky with the flight case. As a mobile dj i would prefer something a bit more portable
just got this and wondering, where on the controller can u switch to headphone mode to listen what youre mixing to? on the ns7 there was a switch on the controller and am confused on the newer model where that is located! thanks
I haven't owned the original NS7, but a few people seem to be having success with the same cases. Best thing is to have a look on the Serato forum to be sure.
mine say not compatible do you know the problem is its getting annoying never had this problem with the old version it worked straight away download newest/latest o.s version and for it to work but still nothing , what do i do wrong ?
1. Make sure your usb csble is completely plugged in amd not damaged. 2. If that dosnt fix it you have to goto their support page and download the latest device driver. Mine did the same thing, soon as i installed driver it worked. If you're still having problems you need to either upgrade your computer or upgrade your windows
The Serato is the better of the 2, use that one. But neither software is user friendly. Your'll be spending more time trying to figure out how to get the controller to work with the software then you will using it.

I've got the numark ns 7 2.but I've noticed that whenever I playback a recording it's very low. What can I do with serato to improve this

Both softwares are trash...... but yes, you can use this with virtually any dj software. Works with fruityloops and protools also.
So what is the best software in your opinion and please don't say none. ..records are over please don't be one of them dinosaur djs

Helio Aguiar I highly recommend it if you love the vinyl feel. The pioneers sx/sz are cool but didn't have the spinning platters.
