Please give us a series, I'm so happy to see you uploading it, I really hope to see you do something similar to what you did with sunset city, having a story behind your work.
I love cities but holy sh does cs2 lack sooo many things, lets be honest here too the only reason cs1 lived for that long was bc of community, mods, assets etc. base cs1 suck ass and so does cs2, all and all I genuinely dont believe teams making these games are all that inspired or at least leadership aint.
@@tkokflux6322 I think people have high expectations for CS2. It feels like a lot people expected to be everything from the current version of CS1 including mods, better graphics and more features. It was never going to be that though. It was always going to be more like base CS1 with better graphics and more features, but overtime eventually be better than CS1 through DLC. Performance problems were definitely inexcusable though.
25:25 look at all the UI panels of the tools before you use them, the game is very powerful. You could just untick rides, or inversely only have trees ticked.
You can make the rollercoaster trains longer by making the station longer. Also, you can adjust the deceleration of the brake run by selecting it in the coaster editor.
@@twodollarstwenty As you said, the tools are deep but not very intuitive, some of us have had almost a decade with them though. You can clearly see you have an eye for design with the coaster along the terrain. As soon as you wrangle the tools to match your vision, you'll be unstoppable
As if our world collide?! This is like a weird super-hero cross-over (I'm often called the TwoDollars Twenty of Planco on my own channel)!! I'm even going to go out there and ask if we can colab... :D
What's cool about having followed you for a couple years now, is that I know that if you stuck with this game, learned what you need to learned, and then combined the available toolset with your designers eye, you would probably go on to create some really thematic stuff, as opposed to just the typical, standard, 'amusement park'. I could see you making some really thematic, next-level-Disneyland kinda stuff, the 'GTA open world, Oceania of planet coaster' if you will. Like, instead of 6-Flags, I could see you be makin West World. Completely understand if thats not the direction you go in, buts its fun to think about haha
I'm completely new to the series and know very little about theme parks despite living in Orlando, FL. Seeing you figure out what's possible through a series would be a great source of inspiration for me as I dive in. Looking forward to more content!
Man watching this has made me so inspired. I've also recently been watching Behind the Attraction on Disney+ (which I highly recommend, even if you're not into rides or Disney) and its making me really want to build and maintain my own park.
I Love Planet Coaster original as a huge amusement park and coaster enthusiast and I am so beyond excited for this sequel to play it myself. I have 1,949 hours in the original and love everything about the game and this sequel appears better in every way and I can not wait for it. It's nice to see the view of someone more new to the game and more familiar with a different game from a different developer explore, play and talk about the game. I would love to see more!
You should absolutely visit Dollywood!! I've been going almost annually for YEARS, and it is without a doubt my favorite Theme Park (even better than Disneyland overall, imo). The theming, infrastructure, and surroundings are THE BEST. I'm also a sucker for that old western/mountain style that runs through Dollywood's veins. Keep it up and I can't wait to see more of this series!!
Agreed! I have a season pass every year! I was just there Monday lol. It's my favorite park ever, the atmosphere is just unmatched, and the cinnamon bread is even better :D
I was the same where i wanted to build everything myself and dive into it deep. The way i gave myself direction was to set aside the natural want of making a full park and started with making just one coaster. Then extent from there by decorating the queue. Making the station building with the custom parts. Some view points for guests. After doing the first one i made a twin coaster that raced each other and detailed it like crazy with a mining theme. Once i was happy and polished up my skills and knew where all the tools are i started a park from scratch.
Also for your first park and coaster not too bad at all! You’ll only get better bro and it’s so much fun and you’ll spend hours on it per day. I can’t wait to get my hands on Planet Coaster 2 in a few more days. 😁
Part of the fun of Planet Coaster/Zoo is learning the building tools. Once you learn how to creat a custom building it becomes like a giant virtual Lego set. You can build whatever you want, but there is a bit of a learning curve to the building tools at the start.
Lake Compounce is such a great little park. Boulder Dash is my absolute favorite wooden coaster that I've ever ridden on. I would go every weekend every summer as a kid and I never got tired of Boulder Dash.
Omg the feature of adding things to rides?! Imagine all the lights you can put on the swing ride where u put the tree on. The colourfull lights on that thing in the dark.
I think they expect casual/beginner players to play the campaign first to learn the game. Nonetheless extremely extremely excited for this. Planco 1 was really good and I cant wait to get into this one. You could spend hours on small details and that balance is the hardest part for me.
Super happy to hear you about the boulder dash inspired coaster! I have been on boulder dash countless times and the experience in unmatched! The sheer speed, mixed with the shakiness of a wooden roller coaster, and going through the forest is amazing! Glad to hear CT getting represented in TDT vids
Cool to see you switching to this game, it was my introduction to new-gen games when it came out and I first got a pc. I ended up finding cities skylines from a planet coaster youtube video and through that channel. I loved the og game game but it lacked so much in coaster smoothing and difficulty to detail (partly from my 10 year old intelligence) but it looks like this game is solving most of the issues from before and finally introducing water parks which were a thing 12 years before it in rct3. Would love to see a full series of this!
I remember first seeing the terrain tools Planet Coaster has, the fact you could bore tunnels into the sides of hills and cliffs. I watched a series by Nerdcubed where he essentially spent the entire series placing lanterns in a cave lol. I don't think I've ever played a build-your-own-whatever game without unlimited money (or cheated money in when needed). Idc for the money aspects, I just wanna make stuff, although that's not to say that I'll try to make the books balance afterwards. Also I'd love to know where 23:32 is from, it's a great piece of music (please tell me it's PC2 Soundtrack)
Really happy to see you play a game my father introduced me to! My interest in the game had died down but this is going to spark that up! Please create a series on this, it would be really nice to see more builders instead of just Cities: Skylines.
Planco 1 faked the numbers for guests. If you watch closely you see they all travel in group's moving as a single unit. So you'd have a group of 5-6, but the game treated it as 1
@@ShaggyBNE i didn't know but by that logic there are even more guests in Planco1 5 groups of 5 is 25 guests. But if you treated it as 1. its only 5 guests. So if all groups were 5 ppl, its 17 000x5 that makes it even worse for planco2
@@Yautja24 No, it would be 17,000 guests. But because they travelled in groups, the game only has to simulate the single group. So 17,000/5 = 3400 "guests" for the game to simulate.
Oh boy! Twodollarstwenty meets Planet Coaster? That's a very unexpected combination but one I am more than happy to go along with. Sign me up for more!
26:45 lol shows how out of touch they are with their community members, especially given how popular the mods are that allow you to build with collision or remove default assets from buildings. What’s worse is that from that take it sounds like they aren’t evening willing to put the effort in to give players the option to do things like that - they won’t even add a toggle or something in the menus to allow it. It’s no wonder the game flopped so hard when it released if the devs have takes like that where they just don’t listen to what anyone in the community wants.
Probably going to buy the game off the back of this video and would love to see you make more PC2 content. To be honest I'd just like more content from you generally on any strategy/builder/management type games.
I’m already planning my park. I didn’t play planco 1 much but I’m really enjoying this. Though I stand by that it’s not an easy game to instantly be good at. Making things look good takes skill I gotta get!
Pleeeeeeeeease make highly detailed theme parks. Also watch some other PlCo creators to see how they do some stuff. For instance, do many don't use terraforming and instead use flat pieces to create levels For paths, make blobs of pavement. More like a parking lot then a highway or road. As people go really slow, so you don't need streamlined lines of pavement
Planco 2 has waterparks, New staff management features, flat rides that can be themed (Planco 1 has prethemed rides), the path builder is infiinitely easier to use, the graphics are a big jump, there are scenery brushes, coasters now have switch tracks, tilt tracks and drop tracks, day/night cycle is much much longer, theres power management now, and a lot more its a sequel that builds on the original instead of changing things just for the sake of changing them
I didn't even know this was coming. I loved Roller Coaster Tycoon so much and when I saw planet coaster I had to have it. I purchased all the DLC and set to work building my dream park only to find out it was SO BUGGY. Also, bugs aside, it really wasn't very beginner friendly, much harder than building stuff in Skylines. I gave up after a few days and never went back.
Planet Coaster 1 didn't live up to the hype for me. It was much too focused on the customization and decorations (beyond those thing just being customization and decoration), and despite all of those options, I often felt railroaded into the various themes. Moreover, while you could build some pretty crazy scenery, buildings, paths, etc it all felt really awkward to work with, especially the paths. It also didn't really scratch the management itch either. The "teleporter" entrances were also really weird, and while that detail itself is small, it made the fact that the maps looked like you were in the middle of some uncannily unsettled territory all more apparent and immersion breaking. Having map borders that were "built up" with man-made stuff could have helped with that and given some more variety to the landscape. Some of that looks better in 2 so far, but some of it doesn't. I appreciate the attempt to add more management to the game with electricity, but I'm not enthused with the implementation. I don't think this will live up to hype for me without a lot more going into it. I'll probably pick it up on sale at some point.
i love theme park games, played since theme park back on dos and up to rollercoaster tycoon 3. planet coaster is too complex for me though. theres a fine line between customisation and micromanaging and planet coaster just takes it too far.
