I also have ADHD so I struggle sitting through entire videos but everything was relevant and the information/tips were all presented in a very chronological way, so it kept my interest the whole way through. At the moment I'm only doing my first embroidery and I'm sewing purchased patches onto a jacket but this is the next step that I want to learn so I am writing a shopping list of the tools I will need for this next step. Thanks again.

I personally don’t have any experience with them. Whenever I embroider on clothes I double knot all of my threads and wash everything on delicate / hang dry them and it’s held up ok for me! But I’ll have to look into some different products and maybe do a comparison soon!

Anything you're going to put through the washing machine, make sure the exposed threads aren't too long! Use couching stitches and other techniques that keep the visible parts of the stitches nice and short and they'll be less likely to catch on something in the wash. My first-ever embroidery project was a patch of my favorite Pokemon. I put it on one of my favorite dresses, but because of the long satin stitches I used as fills, the whole thing got utterly destroyed in the wash. I had to remove the patch completely, and the glue I used stained the dress permanently.

thank you so much!! this video is so clear and helpful. I especially appreciate the product recommendations-- there are so many different stabilizers out there, it's hard to know where to start. I have a question: when working with a product like super solvy and using a permanent marker (like a micron pen) to trace a design, do I have to worry about the black marker showing through the final embroidery piece if I use light colored threads? If anybody out there knows the answer or has thoughts/opinions, I'd love to hear them!
