when my partner and I turned 2 years we were absolutely broke so we decided to celebrate at home with a bottle of cheap white wine and discount cheeses from the supermarket. when we were slightly drunk my boyfriend brought out the main attraction: a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle. We didn't get to do anything of it but it was one of the most fun nights of my life.

I love to have wine and cheese. And yes I once got a puzzle for us to make together. My husband didn't want to make it.
      Chocolate is also good :-)
We used to go to a church feast for 8 days and he would ask what I wanted for presents and I would say cards. You know, like greeting cards. He used to draw pictures of little bears inside of them. Sometimes they were holding hands. That was really nice. And on my birthday all I wanted to do was stay in bed together all day and be together.
Of course one time we drove to Pennsylvania for the weekend and our car broke down and we had to rent a car for the weekend when we got there and then we had to rent a truck to tow our car home... And of course when we got home the car worked fine. I hated that car so much! When they finally towed it away, I cheered. I don't cheer often.

In the town where I grew up, the library had membership to various museums, and you could check out for a day and go to the museum. We usually went to the museum of science. There was an aquarium. Probably art museums. But the museum of science was the only fun one :-) I don't know, maybe libraries might have games or puzzles that you can check out. Ours has DVDs And they also have a butterfly garden. They have ASL classes, which is sign language, and they also have a genealogy center. Recently they were trying to sign up people to volunteer to teach English.

When we were dating my husband and I would go to a restaurant where we would order an appetizer to share and then go to a dollar movie. We would also go hiking in a local state park. Your list gives us lots of ideas of things to do now after 25 years of marriage....and still needing cheap dates.

Luckily my wife and I enjoy similar things - during COVID lockdown we would take walks in different parks every day. We have a gifted membership to our botanical gardens so it is free for us for a year, and we also LOVE picnics with yummy grocery store items. Great idea for a different type of video. Hope you all are doing well. Xoxo, from Michigan.

I looove date night. Just gave birth to our second daughter, and looking forward to take her on her first restaurant ( in carrier or sling)
We honestly prefer going to the Independent cinema and/or to the restaurant, but car picnics or honestly, shopping dates with coffee break, are very enjoyable too. Just time to talk to eachother, and laugh❤️

Two of my dream dates would be:
    - Going apple picking and then having some fresh hot cider
    - Walking in a nature-y area in the winter when there is snow
See? I'm a cheap date! I just need someone to ask me out!

Hey Vika, Tolya, Agatha and Adelina! Great topic. I agree with most of your ideas, except I agree with Tolya on decluttering. "That is not fun." lol
I've done most of them with different partners over the years. My ex-husband and I used to have a weekly date night, which was usually dinner and a movie. The movie was either a rental or at a dollar theater. The dinners were usually a little more expensive, out at a nice restaurant. An ex-boyfriend and I used to order one full-size meal and extra plates to share it. That helped us lose weight, as well as save money. Another ex taught me how to have date nights living off-grid deep in the mountains. While we were in town on errands earlier in the day, they downloaded movies using free internet at the public library, and gathered ingredients (on sale and with coupons) at the grocery store for a special ethnic meal I'd never had before. Then they made popcorn, served in a paper grocery bag, and we watched the movies together. Sometimes we read aloud stories we had written. This was in addition to the sunset and moon and stars outside, which was a magnificent free show we could see just by opening the door of the cabin or go sit on the outdoor sofa or at the table and chairs outside. It was an amazing place! Once, we drove to a city an hour away to see their free public fireworks show that exploded in different parts of the city, so we were literally driving through the fireworks beside and above us. The trick was you had to keep driving the whole time in the pattern with everyone else, while watching the fireworks. The local people there even sold drinks and snacks from their driveways and sidewalks, like kids used to do with lemonade stands. But everyone had lots of fun, and it was a wonderful evening. Another ex taught me how to make eggplant (aubergine) lasagna pizza, just continuing the layers of eggplant and other pizza ingredients, on top of a plain frozen pizza, until we ran out of eggplant, then wrapping it bottom to top in foil and baking. It was fun to make, beautiful to see, wonderful to smell, and totally delicious! I agree with you that fun and romance don't always have to be expensive, it really is more about the time together. Happy holidays! 💖💖💖

My husband and I are together for 15years, married for 12,5 years and our activities changed over the years ❤️
The first 2 years we went to the restaurant, after our girl was born, we went for breakfast with her and made a nice hike afterwards 🤩
This year was the first year we went to the restaurant again (our anniversary is in May) and our girl stayed at grandparent's house...
It was ok, but we loved the "breakfast-hike-all 3 of us together" more 🤷🏻‍♀️
So for next year it will be this again ❤️
Or maybe we try one of your ideas 👍🏻
Thank you for all the work you put in your videos 🙏🏼

When my late husband and I were first married, we had to live frugally. We didn't own a car and had to do all our errands on foot. When we went grocery shopping, we'd get hungry, so we often stopped at an Italian café with small tables covered with checkered tablecloths. We'd order "pasta e fagioli" soup with complimentary bread. This was especially nice in cold weather, and it is a wonderful memory!

We, meaning of bunch of singles from church who were hanging out one day, went to see Titanic, it was a year after it came out, and the seats were $1. And the cinema was packed solid. I think if it wasn't for it being so cheap and my friends going, I wouldn't have gone. But it was okay. I mean it's a good movie. I don't go to the movies a lot. But you just reminded me of that time. And it was really crowded! A couple of us got to sit together I think. There were a bunch of us.
Earlier, when I was married and we were poor, one day we went to the store and bought a loaf of bread for a dollar and we went and fed the ducks. I should mention that now I know you don't feed bread to ducks. But some ducks are really picky actually. I was at a church cookout and I tried to feed the ducks lettuce. They didn't want it. Tomato. Didn't want it. Hamburger. Didn't want it. Now my house duck would eat all of those things. And the first four ducks I had in the backyard Would eat all of those things. These ducks were so spoiled. Finally I gave up and give bits of hamburger bun. They would eat that.
Maybe if you have unspoiled ducks, they will eat healthy things or duck food. Or well, we have Cheerios. I have seen ducks eat that. I don't know what you have. Our ducks will eat oatmeal. I don't know if the wild ones know what to do with that. Some kinds of cereal.
At least it was a cheap date. One time I went to the Grand canyon with friends and we went to the grocery store and bought food and we brought our cooler for the cold food and we made sandwiches in the back seat while we were driving. Lisa made them and Bill drove and I sat there. And it still took us 14 hours for an 8-hour trip. I can't remember why we stopped. Also we left at 5:00 a.m. but we got up at 3:00... Someone was late. People took turns sleeping. We were on vacation so we had money. We saved all year. But still we didn't spend a lot.
Sometimes you can get a milkshake and share it :-)
I didn't like games and my husband didn't like puzzles. That didn't work out. But one time we put all of our pictures into photo albums (which turned out to be a bad idea. I used to just leave them in shoe boxes and then they did not fade. Oops. But at least it was something we did together. Plus they were pictures from vacation so we got to relive the vacation. I have endless amounts of pictures of mountains, and red trees from the fall. And eventually pink trees from the spring, because the red colored trees didn't go well with the colors of our living room wall. Seriously. And yes we took pictures of our apartment after we decorated it and it's in a photo album also. That was before digital pictures and we haven't scanned them because I didn't like the colors that the pictures came out when I started scanning them. They weren't the same color as the pictures. Less saturated, actually. So I only scanned a few of them. Sadly. So far this house hasn't burned down or been destroyed in a hurricane so we still have the physical pictures. Hopefully that will continue, because I really liked the way our house looked.
It wasn't our house. It was the second floor of somebody else's house, but it was pretty when I got done. :-)

We used to have a picnic on the floor in our house😂😂 spread a blanket and eat crackers or bread, fruit, meats and cheeses, olives etc... we'd watch a movie. We didn't have to go anywhere and it felt special because it was different.

I very like your opening. That you clarify that some ideas are nice for you a der other ideas might be nice for others. Depends on your needs.
I also very like your video Style in general. Very minimalistic and it seem like you’re doing nothing what you dont want just in order to pleasure other. I think you’re very authentic! :)

Thanks for adding this! I agree that you need to spend time with your spouse. We are self-employed, so on our cattle ranch we work together feeding, moving, and caring for our livestock, along with our 28 year old son who lives in his own house on the main ranch. We spend a lot of "quality time" on a day to day basis. LOL (I just got back from helping to deliver 40 bred heifers to the buyer this cold and snowy morning!)
Since we ranch way out in the middle of nowhere, our "date nights" consist of a romantic movie and a few drinks, typically on Thursday and Sunday evenings... depending on what we have planned the next day. One of us will say something like "Are ya getting thirsty" or "I'm fixing a drink tonight... want to join me"? LOL (No... we don't drink every night, maybe once or twice a week, but sometimes once or twice a month! -- Don't want people to think we are alcoholics!!)
Though some people consider them cheesy, we like the Hallmark movies and often watch them over and over again. But we have Amazon Prime as well, so have lots of variety to choose from. That is how we spend most evenings, eating a meal while watching a movie or documentary, but we enjoy that!
It changes if we need to get up early to do cattle work, and drastically changes during mid-march through Mid April when we are calving. Since I have the 2-3 am heifer checks, I actually sleep in our basement spare bedroom, so that I don't wake up my husband ... unless I absolutely have to! LOL We don't do date nights during that period, unless you consider getting up in the wee morning hours and chasing in a young cow into the barn and pulling her calf a "date"?! We do that quite a bit during the season.
I was wondering if you and your husband get the chance to go out, just the two of you, or do you always have the kids? Do people in your country hire a babysitter for the evening? Maybe it is different there?

Its been a year we are too cold in winter or hot in summer to do anything outside in a not free place (for warm or fresh air), too broke, we just watch movies together and cook easy meals. Very few times we planned going outside but it's really not worth it where we live and we have too different hours of work. Always one tired when we see each other.

@VictoriaTerekhina276 I’m not sure I believe you are really Victoria. How do I know you are not an imposter? Why is there 276 behind your user name? If you are Victoria, I apologize. So many fakes users out there now. Maybe you could mention this in your next video.
