Those resources are finite because we have constraints on energy. If we had access to infinite energy we would not need to manage anything as scarcity would be just a memory from the past. Infinite energy means you have infinite means of producing, food, goods and transporting them. Economy and our societal structure would become outdated in a matter of hours.

In 1985, my sister and I witnessed three objects flying in unison from as far as the stars, to above our mountains, within seconds. There is no way our flying objects can fly like that. They were flying and hovering, both. No noise was made, no smoke. Just movement. It was scary as hell, actually!

Great interview but I'm not convinced that they are vastly more intellectually superior. Perhaps they stumbled upon an engineering breakthrough by accident? Perhaps they have exotic matter in abundance where they are from? They could potentially be less intelligent than us. Why keep an almost century year old secret from the world populace? Why do so many people go missing and are never found? Why do so many people believe that they've had contact with non-human intelligences? Aside from national security reasons, why would adversarial countries work together to suppress this knowledge of non-human species interacting with this planet, for centuries, quite possibly?
The truth may be worse than we can possibly fathom; if it were the opposite, we would have been given some idea of their intent since it's being revealed that we've known about and possessed their technical vehicles to an extent - and possibly reverse-engineered them to achieve some or all our technological prowess in recent years or decades. But to admit that we've allegedly recovered bodies, and craft, and that there are multiple non-human species out there - says to me at least, that some of them are not friendly or we wouldn't need methods and techniques to down their craft - hence the need for national security concerns and a degree of secrecy by dozens of nations.

There may be different factions, species, etc. Some may have our best interests in mind, some may not. We just don't know yet, and until we do - everything is a possibility. Why show out all their abilities in front of military bases and craft? To prove, we're not a threat.
We may possess a means to down their craft, but in reality, they could possibly disable any one or all of ours - completely overwhelm any fleet, army, or country with how fast they move and appear. Allegations of these non-human technical vehicles disarming nuclear facilities comes to mind. Fravor and his squadron encountering the tic-tac; and that craft appearing where it could not have possibly known the location of where Fravor's group was going.
People need to start thinking outside the box here. This isn't the movies, this isn't some AR/VR RPG. The majority of the populace has this misconception that "they" are from some planet light-years away, and traveled all this way just to look at us and fly around. That's what pop culture has taught them. This is something that has been around for a long time, and is actually, in reality, now a turning point in history. We're not alone. Everything we thought we knew - may no longer exist. Whatever their intentions, we now know that we're not the only intelligent species in the solar system, let alone the galaxy.
And all the conspiracies and theories, may actually have some validity to them now. Because if the governments of the world have gone to such lengths to suppress this knowledge from the populations of the world, then anything else should now be questioned, also, and the stigma regarding these 'quack' conspiracies should be dissolved so that people don't feel ostracized to study them.
