This could be useful for something. Maybe 2d water? You could stick it to the outside of a container to sort of function like Half Life Alyx's booze shader.
Imagine if someone makes an entire 2D sandbox mod something like People Playground using something like the 2D flatgrass map necros showcased and then implementing water like this into it 😳
I have no clue about coding or source engine, but maybe try making the particles collisions bigger and see if it does that still. At the very least it would look really funny big
You should make an .exe file that allows users to create a map without having to do it themselves with the infmap structure already installed and an optional feature where it installs the .obj map model file by itself. Sounds like alot to ask for but might be helpful for those who despreatly wants their own "infmap .obj map". Idk if thats possible but it would have been helpful
@@windowsxseven Why not? he already basically made one with the first gwater. However gwater.exe serves a different purpose while my suggestion is more technical
The pattern it creates is suspicioisly similar to one of the metal floor models you can find on the build category of the props spawn menu....did you by any chance use that prop as a base template for the generation of the map in the video (that assuming that the map your on runs on your infinite map base)? That would explain the weird slashed rectangle formation of the "water" as it would probably be adhesing to the edges of the props geometry. Thats just my guess tho.
Imagine spilling water on the floor and it began forming these shapes
I would be hightailing out of there if I saw something like that
run
I would be convinced the universe would be simulated

Them sticking to the underside of the shipping container really caught me off guard
kinda cool that it "snaps" based on the surface it's touching and it's not a grid on the whole map

this is super interesting, they collect along the polygon edges and get caught by them. i wonder how a bug like this happens

nanomachines..... what are they building.....
huh, those patterns look like collision meshes, or not idk
i believe it's the particles literally sticking to the triangles in all meshes (physical ones ofc), so yes.
Yeah I found that in gwater 1, adhesion + 0 friction produces clearest results, fixed by decreasing adhesion or increasing friction.
yeah, definitely a weird FleX bug
most resource demanding wireframe generator
Funny seeing the particles getting stuck in the edges of the models
They're trying to make a sign, a pattern, a QR code
Ig thats what they call be there or be square
i love squares
Its so fun to watch the balls slosh around
ayo
That's a sticky situation
The metal wireframe plates, they are everywhere, world is made out of those...
yo, what would this look like if it was combined with one of those ray-marchers, like in blender with the meta-balls?

Wow! So many balls yet not a single gray one in sight!
Don't be discouraged, you'll find one eventually!
one day…
They are reviling that you are in a simulation
not a bug, a feature, that's really interesting tho, they are fixing themselves to the mesh edges
That bug could result in a feature!
"its not a bug its a feature"
i love your work❤️
I think it might have something to do with the collision on the displacement, if this map uses 'em, at least.
It looks like its tracing the trangles on the terrain
Definitely collision related
could be something with the way the hitboxes are made with triangles
I assume it's water surface tension being too sensitive and recognizing polygons?
related to having adhesion without friction I think
@@Meetric1 since you responded, I'ma trap you and say, your content rocks! Very good at programming, and I'm super excited for you
ty man
this bug is very cool, it's almost like paint, though it doesn't stick well enough
you can use this with gwater 2 and make things wet with the effect on props
Ngl, this looks quite dope
this some shit you would see on harry potter
the one on the container the water is just like the mario 2d land since it sticks on to it
Whoaly shit
Uh wow I can’t even like brain turned off
Matrix type beat
the wireframe
this particle system smells like the number 17
Maybe that's because of Infinite Map's portals?
im not on an infinite map tho
i think that has something to do with the meshes
The water is kinda acting like a wireframe
interestingly cool.
still crazy how many of those particles you spawned
i wonder if it's some kind of weird seam between each polygon?
wah that hurts my brain
kinda cool

its related to the adhesion property

@mee quick question, why nvidia FleX, is there no other good library for gwater or other reasons like familiarity
theres no other good libraries, FleX is the best for this purpose

when is gwater 2 coming out? i could expect to take months or years but a rough estimate would be nice!
1-4 months

displacement bug idk
Is this an issue with the displacements?
broken adhesion parameter I think

its attaching to the sides of the collision triangles
yeah, maps tend to be made out of meshes. This would occur on any map. If you set an object's texture to wireframe, this is what you'd see
