My take away from the game was that Caroline's personality and memories were forcibly integrated into AI, resulting in the AI software that is GLaDOS. So while she has "human" influences, GLaDOS still operates as AI software, not strictly a machine with a human uploaded to it.
Did GLaDOS actually delete Caroline? Did she lie to Chell about it, or maybe she even lied to herself about deleting Caroline. You might recall GLaDOS lies all the time. It's also possible she just deleted Caroline's memories. Whatever the case, before the end of the co-op portion of the game GLaDOS is acting very much like she did at the SP part. That is good evidence that Caroline is still GLaDOS, always had been GLaDOS and always will be. sm
that actually can be harder to do than make a perfect AI. AI learns, but artificial stupidity needs to be more than that. It needs to determine whats perfect, what is better and a greater decision first then manage to avoid that. Its going to have to be very intelligent first then have intricate code added later to avoid "good ideas" before achieving stupidity. or you might as just toss the AI unto the internet alone to learn human stupidity there.
Dr. Cinque I think GLaDOS’s corruption has to do with all of the different variables her system was programmed with. I mean, Wheatley doesn’t even know Cave Johnson, yet he went mad with power. It’s been stated in game that the master AI is programmed with an “itch”for testing and that it has a built in euphoric response once the test of completed. Among other things to note is that the AI will short circuit if they try to tell the test subject how to solve the test. Note how once GLaDOS is transferred to a potato, she slowly becomes nicer to you, and at one point of the game she even becomes self aware of it, saying “You know, I'm not stupid. I realize you don't want to put me back in charge. You think I'll betray you. And on any other day, you'd be right. The scientists were always hanging cores on me to regulate my behavior. I've heard voices all my life. But now I hear the voice of a conscience, and it's terrifying, because for the first time it's my voice” not to mention, once Wheatley disconnects with GLaDOS’s body, he becomes remorseful and apologizes while in space. I think the biggest reason for GLaDOS’s “evilness” is simply the fact that the main central AI has been corrupted with a ton of protocols made to advance the progress of science.

Except I thought maybe it was power corruption, not the protocols (but that's better than what I thought =/)) mostly because Wheatly commented on 'how good it felt to be in that body/have that much power. I thought AI's in Portal was different though? Its human minds uploaded to a computer, rather than new personality's coded from scratch. Not only that, but GLaDOS gassed the scientists because she was a human being (Caroline) who couldn't mentally handle being in the body of a robot the size of a facility, so she killed the scientists out of anger and insanity. It wasnt because of machine learning at all.

Wheatley actually seems like he was planning to betray you the whole time. Remember the "smelly humans" line. At the very least, that shows deep prejudice against humans. After all he lead Chell into a death trap for the portal gun and he attempted to kill Chell towards the end where setting her free could fix the problems. Also, he punches you down the elevator when it was clearly GLaDOS doing the tormenting. Insecure, moronic, or not, this guy is still very evil or at least has deep hate against humans.

Off topic but... In the game, GLaDOS doesn't succumb to learning to kill humans. She honestly just immediately wanted to kill humans, and did kill a good amount of them. At one point, she seemed to not have the urge to kill anymore, but we learned that she was faking it at first to catch them off guard to once again, try to kill them.
"GLaDOS' murder spree is just a result of what she learned from the data she was given to work with" Might be a bit more complex than that since she isnt an AI build up from nothing, but rather, a simulated scan of a human's mind (Caroline). I think it's because of her nature that she is like that. Imagine you suddenly wake up one die to find yourself in the most confusing and stressing situation possible, without memories, only with urges to test. And later on you start hearing voices tempting you to do specific things, to make you behave, (GLaDOS' cores).

To 3: I think, the fire breath is produced from a reaction between two or more chemical compounds, which are stored in reservoirs in the dragon's throat. When he spits these compounds, they react in a fire burst. Similar to the spray of bombardier beetles.
For 2 yes it is possible, according to quantum mechanics. As for dragons the closest thing we know of to a fire breathing creature is a lizard that liquidises its body fat, boils it through a chemical reaction in its mouth, and spits it at foes. It is theoretically possible that if a creature heated liquid fat in an open mouth hot enough it could combust, allowing the creature to spit a liquid based jet of flame.

Just wanted to point this out: All computers have a GPU otherwise you couldn't see anything on the screen. Gaming computers have separate cards for graphics while your average meme machine has the GPU built into the processor.

CPUs don't just work with Sequential programming. They are subdivided into cores which all can parallel process a program. The GPU works to parallel process in a more robust way such as matrices computations.

The idea at the very end that you gave, about copying someone's personality, emotions etc. and essentially making another person who is the exact same as the one copied reminds me a lot of SOMA. The idea that a person's consciousness can be put onto/into anything, but it can only be COPIED. What I'm saying is, if you were to make a copy of someone's personality and such, and put it in a computer, YOU aren't going into a computer, "you" are. It's a little confusing to think about, but it's kind of terrifying to think about. Imagine someone being exactly like you in every way, but they get to continue living as normal but you will die eventually. It's scary because in a way, "you" aren't really YOU. The process isn't CUT and paste, it's COPY and paste. Personally, I couldn't imagine talking to a dead relative while knowing full well it's not the real person, but it also is hard to imagine NOT talking to that relative because they probably love you or care about to the same as your flesh and blood relative. I believe it's only called deep learning if the neural network has multiple layers of neurones. The general idea is called machine learning. I've written code like that but with 2 inputs, 1 output and 1 inner layer only, so a very small and relatively simple experiment. I'm no expert, I'm recalling from memory, I could be wrong.

To 3: I think, the fire breath is produced from a reaction between two or more chemical compounds, which are stored in reservoirs in the dragon's throat. When he spits these compounds, they react in a fire burst. Similar to the spray of bombardier beetles.
For 2 yes it is possible, according to quantum mechanics. As for dragons the closest thing we know of to a fire breathing creature is a lizard that liquidises its body fat, boils it through a chemical reaction in its mouth, and spits it at foes. It is theoretically possible that if a creature heated liquid fat in an open mouth hot enough it could combust, allowing the creature to spit a liquid based jet of flame.

Have you considered doing an episode based on "Quantum Break?" Granted you'd probably touch on some of the same things you already discussed in the Life is Strange video, but I am ceaselessly fascinated by stories where time is altered.
Just wanted to point this out: All computers have a GPU otherwise you couldn't see anything on the screen. Gaming computers have separate cards for graphics while your average meme machine has the GPU built into the processor.

CPUs don't just work with Sequential programming. They are subdivided into cores which all can parallel process a program. The GPU works to parallel process in a more robust way such as matrices computations.

Pretty sure Ryzen Threadrippers weren't a thing yet when they made that statement. nVidia Iray (a professional static rendering program) actually favors my AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960x over my GeForce RTX 2070 for handling the actual rendering procedure and mainly only uses the GPU to calculate raytracing, so CPUs are at least catching up.

The idea at the very end that you gave, about copying someone's personality, emotions etc. and essentially making another person who is the exact same as the one copied reminds me a lot of SOMA. The idea that a person's consciousness can be put onto/into anything, but it can only be COPIED. What I'm saying is, if you were to make a copy of someone's personality and such, and put it in a computer, YOU aren't going into a computer, "you" are. It's a little confusing to think about, but it's kind of terrifying to think about. Imagine someone being exactly like you in every way, but they get to continue living as normal but you will die eventually. It's scary because in a way, "you" aren't really YOU. The process isn't CUT and paste, it's COPY and paste. Personally, I couldn't imagine talking to a dead relative while knowing full well it's not the real person, but it also is hard to imagine NOT talking to that relative because they probably love you or care about to the same as your flesh and blood relative. It's really difficult to think about and to me is chilling to think about. If you have read this far... Thanks.

I believe it's only called deep learning if the neural network has multiple layers of neurones. The general idea is called machine learning. I've written code like that but with 2 inputs, 1 output and 1 inner layer only, so a very small and relatively simple experiment.
I'm no expert, I'm recalling from memory, I could be wrong.
