My Sinclair ancestors arrived in Charleston, South Carolina in the 1690s. Makes sense given the destruction you’ve described.

Upvote from me,thanks for visiting my ancestral clan castle [after Rosslyn/Roslin,of course!] ! 👌👍
NB Its sole and proper name is 'Castle Girnigoe',as Castle Sinclair was a mere extension not a separate connected castle [ descended from John Sinclair,Master of Caithness mentioned in the vid]

Well done ! What an unbelievable place-and I live in Snowdonia ! I would only ask that you try to put a google-type map of the location in your posts-I know where Wick is as I used to fish around Caithness but many don't. I think I will go up and have a look at that ! Thanks-Tom

It seems it had a bloody history, who owns it now.

Owned by a charitable family trust, headed by the present 20th (Sinclair) Earl of Caithness. 👌👍

I’d be nervous visiting, it looks scary? Like it will crumble into the sea.
