- In this video I share my thought regarding my recently acquired DX28 Darth Vader by Hot Toys.
I also go off on a tangent and talk about the rest of my display. 😂
I think had I done a typical unboxing of this figure, I’d would have done it justice because it wouldn’t be up to the standard for which it deserves.
So I hope you enjoy my ramblings about this figure and figures in general.

I too am a newer collector. I was able to preorder this Vader right before it waitlisted and got my Vader a week ago. I’m just glad I was able to get one. I was excited to display it with the cracked helmet but I think you are right to display it with no damage.
Yeah I mean the battle damage is awesome. I love that you can see Hayden’s likeness without a doubt but it’s hard to not have Vader’s iconic look in your display if that’s the only one you have. Definitely is a toss up. Maybe I’ll get bored of it in a few months and switch it out, then again swapping the helmet stressed me tf out so who knows 😂 I’m glad you finally got your figure dude and I’m glad you enjoy it. Vader is definitely a must have🫡🤝
Also clones are a dangerous rabbit hole. I want my episode 3 clones (Cody, Gree, Bly, Neyo, Bacara)
I totally agree with you he's my first Vader too. No way I'm putting the anakin head on. New hope and rogue one are my best movie vaders, I missed out on those. This is the next best thing. I have the anakin head displayed next to him.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! I feel if there were a separate sculpt that was was entirely without the mask - kind of like the Sebastian Shaw ROTJ sculpt - that depicted Hayden’s burned up likeness, I may consider using that but because it’s only half the sculpt, I’d much prefer the normal Vader look. Great minds think alike. 😂
@@DarthTamarus they will probably bring out a full helmet less burned anakin head for the revenge of the sith edition
We do seem to think alike lol I also do not display my sabre characters with light sabres either. I feel its kinda corny and obvious and not needed. To me bespin luke looks so cool with a blaster, light sabres are done to death. l also don't use bases. I feel like it makes the figure look like a product more than something special and my display is for me foremost and I know who the characters are so i don't need a huge name plate saying it. In regards to which shelf it comes down to space etc. I actually prefer some of Mt best characters on lower shelves as I can sit on my ass watching a movie and have my characters at eye level. For me top or bottom shelf has nothing to do with how much I like a figure. Collect and display your figures in a way that pleases and suits you.
@@alibear73 Man that would probably be the coolest thing they could do. Like Vader after just getting put into the suit.
@@alibear73 It seems we do! Nothing wrong with bases but I agree. Maybe if you only had one figure but imo multiple figures with multiple display bases does definitely make them seem more like toys than actual hyper-realistic action figures. Diorama bases might be the only exception but those are really hit and miss and mostly scene specific. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🫡🤝
I want Crosshair and Wrecker man those prices are outrageous. For now I will only have Hunter and maybe Tech because I want a representation of the Bad Batch in my display
@@malekith8447 Yeah it really is unfortunate for those that missed out on Crosshair. And I’ve heard that Wrecker is climbing in value too. I really liked The Bad Batch, but I’m not going to be devastated if I don’t have the representation. I’m just priced out on em.
@@DarthTamarus Yeah Wrecker is 450 on TBA without everything. It’s really a shame because I would say Crosshair is the favourite 99 clone of nearly everybody and they have used real leather on him😂

He looks great. I will get the ROTJ Vader. The only downside on them is the full pleather suit. Maybe they will change the suit to a neopren material like on the Dark Empire like ohne day
Yeah maybe they’re finding a way around the pleather. Only time will tell.
@@DarthTamarus But with Vader it doesnt bother me that much. He will be re-issued constantly and if he flakes in 10 years he did his job.
@@malekith8447 that’s a good point. I don’t ever see a day where they stop making Darth Vader. I would pay more for genuine leather though. I don’t care if he was $500.
I know the struggle. It’s pretty hard to select your figures wisely. My passion are the prequels. I will buy every Prequel movie character. And I want at least one version of every OT Gang member. I have broken my rule by now for Mando Obi Wan (FOMO), Wolverine and final swing spidey. I will eventully make exceptions for Asajj and Savage if they will ever release them. For now I have Jango, Padme and ATOC Anakin and they look great together.
Fingers crossed they announce an EP2 Obi-Wan to complete the trio. It seems like Hot Toys leaves money on the table excluding figures like that. By not announcing figures that go together at the same time, collectors miss out on so many figures that go together. Definitely interesting.
@@DarthTamarus That will probably take some time. I think before that we will get another ROTS and Phantom Menace one. I want ROTS Obi and Ani besides eachother. I am so hyped for a Potential Grievous. I will buy every ROTS release I don’t care. It’s my favourite Movie of all time.
@@malekith8447 yeah I’d say those are the teo figures I’m holding out on for 2.0s. Grievous would be so good if done with the level of engineering Hot Toys is capable of. That Sideshow figure is butt.

@@malekith8447I’m glad you’re excited dude! I don’t have any battle droids personally. I think they’re a bit too overpriced and I’d rather save the space for more iconic characters.
