I love this and previous generation. New one is a beast, but this one is .. WOW!
All the performance you could ever sensibly use in 99.9% of driving, coupled with remarkable practicality considering that performance level. Pretty much sums up the 911 Turbo.
You see, if I have to chose between Urus or this, I’ll Go for the 911 997 Turbo. This car is still amazing after more than 10 years. I’m sure you have more pleasure by driving this with manual gearbox than an Urus.

This and the 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S is probably the most well rounded and timeless 911s ever made. The buildquality, torque and powerdelivery is unmatched in any other 911 to this day in my opinion. And iv driven pretty much all of the generations and models. My excitement is always the same when i get the chance to jump in a 997 Turbo. As soon i get the finances in order and my insurance is slightly under control im getting one. And it will be a good investment.

The 997 just hasn’t aged especially the turbo still a bloody fast car. Plus I love the 997 turbo alloys sadly taken off this car
100% agree 0-100kmh in 3.7-3.9 depending on transmission and 190mph top end is fast no matter what era lol then there is the ease of tuning this thing into an absolute monster for a couple of grand

I have one since 4 1/2 years now and i hope i wont ever be stupid enough to sell it. Even after that time it puts a smile on my face when ever i drive it. What it really needs is a sports exhaust, the best one is from M&M exhaust in germany. Stock exhaust is - as on all 911 turbos - boring. Aside from that its just perfect.

@@Lambullghini it is normal launch, launch control can do it only with automatic transmission ! He press and hold ESP button to turn off !

Green plates in the Netherlands are special plates for import cars to drive to RDW (registration office), but car dealers also use them a lot for people that want to test drive their cars (kind of illegal, but it gets tolerated by the police/government).

This one sounds great btw, not like a standart turbo vacuum cleaner. What has been done to the exhaust?
Nothing has been done by the sounds of it, this was just from a time when they put way less shit in the exhaust for filtering and such that muffles the sound
They can still be improved vastly yet, even though it sounds good here. Friend had one of this gen, had a custom exhaust made up for it and it sounded utterly insane!

I've driven a 997 c2 and a 996 c4s and they are a c o m p l e t l y different car than the 997 turbo. With that said I think the naturally aspirated cars are more fun off a highway
