    Having been born a in Lake County and raised in Mendocino County and having watched California slowly shut down all means of growing wealth in Northern California (mostly through totally illogical environmental blockages) I wholeheartedly support the State of Jefferson.

      The State Of Jefferson Is The Right Thing To Do Because We Americans Need Equal Representation. California Is Too Big, Too Liberal, And Basically Under Represented. It Is In Fact A Mess That Needs Fixing Because The People Want The Change And "We The People" Made The United States What It Is Today. California Deserves To Be Split As Long As The People Want It. Washington Deserves To Be Split With The New State Of Liberty. New York Deserves That Right Too With The New State Of New Amsterdam But Only If Congress Approves The Move. Highly Unlikely.

      After the Civil War they made it illegal to secede from the Union. The only legal way would be to split a state up which is why they are trying the way they are.

    • @joshstevenson2612

      It was always considered illegal for a state to secede. The American Civil War was fought to stop the Confederate rebellion and preserve the Union.

      +Josh Stevenson... You Are Absolutely Right. States Can Not Secede From The Union, Nor Can A New State Be Created Out Of An Old State(s) Unless Congress Approves The Move. In 1791 Vermont Separated From NY, And Kentucky Separated From Virginia. In 1820, Maine Separated From Massachusetts, And In 1963 As Taught In Schools West Virginia Separated From Virginia During The Civil War.

      +Josh Stevenson It Is Therefore Possible For A New State To Be Created Out Of An Old State If Congress Approves The Move Which Will Be In Fact Highly Unlikely But With Trump Being The President Anything Is Possible Even Building A Double Solar Wall With Mexico With An Enforcement Road In Between. By The Way The Wall Will Pass Through A Reservation Native American Nation And It Will Divide The Reservation.

    I wish this could happen. If it did, southern Illinois would secede from the Chicago crooks, the rest of the state would force Detroit out of Michigan, the Free State folks in Manchester and Keene would secede from New Hampshire, parts of Colorado and a few surrounding states would combine to become their own state, Texas would secede from the united States to form their own country, and I'd homestead a derelict container ship and declare it to be the free and sovereign nation of Oceana.

      By extension, every large urban area should be its own state and have two Senators in the US Senate. I'll take that deal!
      -->State of Greater Atlanta - Two Senators
      -->State of Chicagoland - Two Senators
      -->State of Austin - Two Senators
      -->State of Maricopa - Two Senators
      -->State of Columbus - Two Senators
      All of these states would have larger populations and economic output than some states that already exist.

    • @Liberty4Ever
      @Liberty4Ever Рік тому

      @@fishbone3333 - If only the large areas of urban decay could secede and become their own country. That's the bold action needed to make America great again! Aside from the obvious problems of geographic discontinuity, urban secession is an economic impossibility. They can't have a functioning economy based on selling each other financial services, marketing, legal services, etc. The cities can't exist without the food, gasoline, natural gas, electricity and durable goods that are manufactured for them by The Deplorables in the flyover states that they despise. Sure, China would supply them with fentanyl and Mexico could supply their meth needs, but I doubt either will be willing to trade for the services that are produced in big cities. Urban crime accounts for the vast majority of violent crime in the US, but the cities would tear themselves apart once they have no food, no water, no gasoline, no electricity.... Want a preview? Turn off the EBT cards for a few hours and see what happens to large cities.

Southern CA makes my state's blue area look like Texas. I wish Jefferson the best of luck in their attempt to gain independence from the dysfunctional mess that is southern California.

Clearly, The Immigrants Are Everywhere And Breaking The Rules. The President Could Send The National Guard And Arrest All Immigrants That Are Homeless And If They Are Also Unemployed Or Don't Speak, Then Deport Them To Mexico. Giving Immigrants The Right To Stay In The United States Should Be A Privilege Given To People Who Seek To Improve Their Lives By Finding Work And Learning English. Those Who Refuse To Learn English And Are Not Legal Residents Should Be Deported If They Refused To Find Work.

    The reality is that the twenty northern counties have no representation in the state of California. The fifteen San Joaquin Valley and Eastern Sierra counties have no representation.
    In 1964 the Warren Supreme Court ruled in Reynolds vs. Sims that the states could no longer use the federal model of a state senator for each county, but must elect state senators by population. This ruling should hold true for the US Senate as well, making two senators per state unconstitutional.
    There are 38 million residents in California. Over 19 million live in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and San Francisco County. Should four counties be able to control the other fifty four counties? I don't think this is right and I will take a stand for liberty.
    The best example of this abuse of power is the Fire Protection Fee. This is an illegal tax passed by the population centers on rural Californian. If you do not live in a city, you pay a $150 parcel fee to pay the state for fire protection. Only it doesn't go to protect anyone's property. It goes into the General Fund to the tune of 72 million dollars a year.
    The cities could double or triple this fee at any time and the rural counties would be powerless to stop them. To allow this to continue is a sin against our children.

    The state of Jefferson battle isn't a new one. Its been around for well over a century. A lot of the money the state makes comes from the counties of the state of Jefferson. Basically California has redistricted these fairly conservative areas of California out of existence. Essentially LA county may have 36 state senators alone but the entire state of Jefferson area about a dozen or so countries have only 3-6 state senators. Basically its we go with what LA and southern California say or else your done.

  • @EileenTheCr0w
    @EileenTheCr0w 10 років тому +4

    That's a good first step. I'm still hoping for The Republic of Texas to make a comeback.. I always think it's funny though when people bring up laws surrounding secession.. As if they matter anymore the instant you declare freedom lol.. I guess try to go peacefully, but if they say no.. Just do it anyways.
    But in order for a new country to succeed it needs to do a few things.
    1. reject all deals with the US militarily.
    2. Open or extremely easier borders, illegals aren't an issue if you don't have an income tax or scams like social security. Texas gets by on sales tax. Workers are more free.
    3. Open trade. No laws for idiotic backfiring trade agreements like nafta or import export taxes. Just let the market move what it needs to where it needs to be.. And then sales tax it.
    4. Optional communities with voluntary services for police, fire, etc.. These then have near Zero property tax and allow pretty broad liberty.
    5. No laws on personal habits as long as others are unaffected. Ie drugs, prostitution, gambling, alcohol
    6. Have very little business regulations and encourage privatization of anything possible.
    Local community control over most things works best. The people closest to the problem should be solving it and handling the money.. Instead of wasting it in bureaucracy and letting others backseat drive.

      Christian Rodier That Would Be Perfect With The Exception That Congress Will Not Agree Because According To Them Puerto Rico Is Not Financially Ready, And Would Therefore Be A Burden To The United States. Puerto Rico Has A Debt Of 72 Billion Dollars Before Super Storm Maria, And Now The Debt Could Be Much Higher. Besides This Difficulty, Congress Will Not Approve The Division Of California Because It Could Gain Democratic Electoral Votes That Will Clearly Make Them A Majority. California Could Be Divided Into Two States If One Is Blue And One Red. Of Course, Trump Is A Game Changer And He Could Do Something Drastic. At This Point, No One Knows What He Might Do, And Since Congress Is Red, Perhaps Two Red States Could Be Made Out Of The Blue California And Leave A Giant Blue State, Which Will Give The Majority Of The Electoral Votes To The Republicans. It Sounds Cruel But Since Republicans Control Congress And The President Is Republican It Would Be A Very Liberating Thing For California And A Great Step For The Future Of The Republicans.

      If Jefferson Were Made A State, Would It Be Red Or Blue? We Need Two Red States And One Blue, In Order For The Republicans To Have The Edge In Electoral Votes. The Worry Is That If This Split Is Accepted Then Any Other State Could Ask For The Same Privilege. Clearly, The Constitution Of The United States Prohibits The Creation Of A New State Out Of One Or More States, Even If The People Want It. Basically, Americans Are Dreaming Because I Really Doubt That A New State, Let Alone Two Or Three Will Be Created. Of Course, Trump Is The Commander In Chief And He Owns Congress And Can Therefore Do The Impossible.

    If this is a big attempt for republicans to gain power, think again. If this movement tries to gain Solano, Napa, and Sacramento county, you will still have a majority of democrats. It will not change a thing for you guys. If farmers are trying to preserve their farms, you might also want to look into who you are voting to run your city and county. Because majority of the time, the people you elect to run your towns approve whether what goes in and what does not. And, that my friend, is still your biggest enemy. The world is changing, especially with advancing technology. It is predicted that almost half of today's careers will go extinct within the next 20 years, which is low skilled work.
