@King Cyrus, He already did; by removing Steven Recession Harper. Trudeau opened trade with 50 new countries [Billions in GDP growth and Millions of jobs], increased Military spending 70%, legalized Marijuana [campaign promise] created no out of pocket expense program for Prescription Medication. Only 2years in office and he's done more for Canada than 10years of Harper, who cut everything including closing Hospitals so he could give tax breaks to the rich and almost drove Canada into a Depression. Harper isn't worthy to shine Trudeau's shoe's.

There is no greater friend, ally and brother than Canada....I recall in 2011 a report of a little girl being afraid when she saw an RCAF F-18 over Seattle - her father told her not to be scared these were the Canadians who were giving our pilots some much needed down time. The RCAF flew air cover for Detroit, Chicago, and Seattle. I have nothing but admiration and love for my Canadian brothers and sisters. Thanks Canada, Merci Canada!

American here, and I'm so grateful for all of Canada's continued unwavering support, candor, kindness, and just plain reliable friendship they've shown us here in the States. I'm a big fan of singing/know all the lyrics of 'O Canada', in both French and English.
Even took an in-depth Canadian History course at my university-- which now I personally think should be made part of our standard education-curriculum in American grade-schools at least. Because it's about god-damn respect, and in my opinion I find the lack of general-public knowledge/of what little IS taught here (regarding even the most basic Canada facts) unacceptable. And besides, it's interesting!
THANK YOU / MERCI, CANADA for being the best neighbors we could ever ask for!

On September 12, 2001 the RCMP band stood on the steps of Parliament in Ottawa and played The Star Spangled Banner. Someday I want to go to Gander Newfoundland/Labrador and just say "thank you so much". Same for the many other locations who did the same thing. If we would pay attention, the Canadians are our barometer of sanity. Thank you for being who you are.

***** Bullshit if you didn't have the population that you do you in no ways would overwhelm Canada. Canada is a damn rich country that has access to the best weapons and tech in the world. Hell we even had nukes until we retired them because we deemed them unnecessary and phased them out for standard weaponry. On top of that you ask any marine or U.S Army solider that has ever even experienced joint U.S Canadian Training and they will tell you the same damn thing. Canadian Soldiers have superior training and are respected around the world for their fighting prowess. I'm not saying Canada is better but you cant just say that we would in no way be able to compare to "American Military might" If we had the same population it would be a different story. Also the U.S received so much military and financial aid from France during the revolutionary war that France went bankrupt shortly after the War. Also think about it this way. If Britain was closer to the U.S and it was logistically easier to transport troops and weapons the U.S would be a commonwealth country today. French people and An ocean are the basis of your countries Revolution. so stop with your damn U.S beats all crap. The U.S is a great country with a great history and culture. I love the U.S i lived in NYC for 3 years and it was wonderful. But please keep your nationalistic B.S to yourself thank you.

On November 22 1963 i was in the 4th grade up here in Canada. When news came that JFK had been assassinated my teacher broke down in tears and went home ,we could hear other teachers just sobbing in the hallway. All the students were sent home early. From that day on i realized how close our countries are as friends and neighbours.

      @brandonb9978 3 роки тому +6

Same on 9/11. My grade 3 teacher was sobbing when she told us all to go out for recess. It was strange to us because it wasn’t scheduled but we weren’t going to argue with getting out of class so we made a B-line for the door. When we came back in after about 10 minutes we were ushered into the gymnasium where they had a few tube TVs on rolling carts. They turned on the news.
They explained to us 3rd, 4th and 5th graders what was happening and that our American friends were dying. There was a church across the street from our school and the entire student body and faculty made our way over to pray for them. We made flags that combined the Stars and Stripes and Maple Leaf into one flag then hung them in our windows with the phrase “We Stand Together” written underneath. It was in those days after the tragedy that I realized as a young man just how important the relationship between our two countries is, and how I felt a genuine love and sorrow for people I had never met. I certainly wasn’t the only one either. Thanks for sharing your story my friend. Much love to our brothers and sisters in the U.S.A. 🇺🇸

Same story for me. Grade 1, teachers crying, home early. For some reason, I can distinctly remember a MOW railway crew reballasting the train tracks next to our house. We had to wait until the crew finished to cross the tracks to get home. Listened on the car radio to the never-ending news. Very much like 9/11. I also remember see LHO getting shot. Everybody was watching for a first glimpse of ‘The Man Who Killed The President’.
If we gotta live next to someone, it’s way better that it be the US, than say Russia, or China. 2016 to 2020 excepted.

Canadians go to war with us Americans and die for us and the protection of America and we would do the same for Canada. How DARE some of you talk bad about Canada. This is why I have a love/hate relationship with nationalistic pride. You can be proud to be from a country but when pride turns to arrogance and thinking you're the best it can and WILL lead to hatred of others who have pride in being something different. I'm an American I love my country. I also love our BROTHERS up North. The great white fucking North salute to you. Sure we disagree we always will. Yes sometimes Americans pick on Canadians calling them little brothers and saying they have funny accents but the majority of Americans mean no harm by it. Same with Canadians i know some pick on Americans but there is no offense meant by it. It's literally what actual brothers do. We're two different nations. But just like brothers we still love each other to the end if someone were to go to war against Canada guess who would be the first nation to come to their defense aside from of course themselves. The USA. If a country were to invade us guess who it would be for us? it would be Canada. From this American to you Canadians I thank you and I love you. Canada-USA. Not allies but brothers.

Our Prime minister Justin Trudeau posted this clip on social media as a response to Donald Trump the next president of United States.
I needed to hear this today as a part of my heart was saddened by the mockery from Donald Trump that we are a 51st state etc. I am honored to have United States as my neighbors but please understand Canada 🇨🇦 is and will always be Canada on its own. Sadly Trump continues this mockery in a condescending fashion that does not represent The United States of America properly and this video affirms us.

I’m sorry. Many Americans share this sentiment with you. I was mortified when he first started saying this. Now I’m horrified. I never imagined a US President saying such things. After looking through conservative forums, I’m seeing a lot of his supporters are not at all happy with his rhetoric. Unfortunately, most seem to be comforting themselves with the idea that it’s him just trolling.
Even if he is just trolling, it’s so horribly disrespectful.
I also don’t doubt that it is very likely a vast number of foreign trolls pretending to be Americans who support this. It is in their interest for us to break our alliances. I know they are loving this.
Sadly the incoming President doesn’t have the sense not to say these things or maybe he is actually considering this, I don’t know anymore. But please understand that the majority of Americans do not and would not ever support this.
My God, this is so embarrassing and honestly scary.

I was born in Canada, and have lived here my entire life. The only time I’ve ever spent the United States, was a thirty-six hour period in 1991, when I travelled to Providence, Rhode Island to attend my first KISS concert, at the age of sixteen.
Despite this, anytime there is an international hockey tournament, my loyalty lies with the Americans. I’m not quite sure why, all I know is that I’ve done that for as long as I can remember. One thing of which I’m very sure though, is how infuriated fellow Canadians become, anytime I watch a game at a bar.
Never was this more true, than when I joined my friend’s at a sports bar in downtown Yellowknife, NWT for the first showdown between Canada and the USA at the 2010 Olympics. The USA won that game 5-3, so I had plenty to cheer about... and my fellow countrymen had good reason to be sour.
In typical Canadian fashion, the disgruntled fans of Team Canada took the loss poorly, and what had started as good-natured ribbing, became slightly more agitated aggression. One intoxicated fellow came over to our table and yelled at me, calling me a “traitor”, and most everyone else took a turn throwing bones from their chicken wings in my general direction.
In the end, it made for quite a memorable evening. I was even able to get all of the wing sauce out of my precious USA Hockey jersey.
Why do I do this? As I mentioned, I’m not 100% sure... I’m confident that my love of stirring up shit could play a small role.
In the end, who knows? It’s just something I’ve always done.

Due to security and logistics issues in the disaster area surrounding New Orleans, the team started operations on September 3, saving 30 people that day. They returned to Vancouver on September 6, reportedly saving over 110 people during their deployment. It has also accepted some evacuees to stay in Canada. The Canadian Forces also provided several Griffon helicopters and crews to the New England States at the request of the United States Coast Guard whose search and rescue helicopters from that area have been assigned to Gulf Coast SAR operations. Canadian aircraft were deployed as part of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) military assistance pact after Hurricane Andrew. This is only a couple examples.
