Yes and Trump is not saying anything good about Canada. Canada was destroyed by Trudeau with communism. Trump shows no concern or empathy for how Canada was destroyed. Trump just wants all of our Country and all of our resources to fix his destroyed country and the hell with Canada. That is not the mark of a good person/leader. But rather a bully and a leach, more like a dictator.

You hit it on the head!!! I feel bad for Pierre & the Conservatives, as they may win a Majority gov't this year, but have a giant mess left behind from the Liberals and will have to try to clean up the mess. However, if they do any sort of necessary "belt tightening" & spending reductions, the masses in Quebec and S. Ontario will revolt and vote Liberal (or NDP) again in 2029 election. (On the opposite end, Liberals were given a big gift in 2015 when they inherited a well running & financially stable country thanks to PM Harper's gov't. Unfortunately, our great "financial credit score" in 2015 allowed the Liberals to rack up the credit card & obliterate our finances the last 9 years ... to which the Conservatives will unfortunately take the 'heat' for trying to fix).

ugh why are you bending over for trump, he is a multi billionaire...Let’s be honest here...Trump’s push to turn Canada into the 51st state is nothing short of a disgrace. He doesn’t give a damn about Canada’s independence or the struggles that Canada has faced hundreds of years to remain sovereign. It’s not about him being angry over Justin Trudeau’s time in office, it’s about him taking advantage of a vulnerable moment. He knows Canada’s economy is struggling, and he’s salivating at the chance to get his hands on it, all The land, gold, natural gas, parts of the arctic and most importantly OIL... He sees an opportunity to expand his legacy and profit massively, and he’s willing to sacrifice everything this country has fought for just to line his pockets. People have died for this nation’s independence, and now he wants to throw it all away because he sees how valuable Canada is doesn’t like how the last few years went.
Anyone who supports this ridiculous idea of Canada losing its identity is either blindly following Trump’s selfish agenda or completely unaware of the consequences of this betrayal. It’s not just politics ....it’s the very soul of the country at stake. The history of our independence should never be up for negotiation, and no one should be willing to sell it out for the sake of some hollow promises of economic gain.

I'm hoping to see that people will finally get off their asses and GET to the polls this time around and make the voting results as obvious as they were in the US. On that note, this is where the American system in a few ways is decidedly better than ours. Here we have a GG that is appointed by the sitting PM, which should NOT be the case because that just screams bias, have an appointed senate that has no term limits, which is wrong, and we have supreme court judges that are also appointed, but it's the same on that in the US I do believe. There are just a lot fundamental things that are very wrong with our system, and Trudeau has exploited those perfectly !

With those people you start by offering settlements, 50% down and we call it a day, or the principal amount and I waive the interest etc. If that can't be done then payment plans.

Since the idea of Brics is much like the gold standard, Our dollar would then be backed by the total # of resources we as a nation have. Trudeau initially claimed during his press conference that he was proroguing to have a "reset" in Parliament after having had a full session of Parliament being seized.
But later he said it would also allow for a leadership race, which might be unconstitutional, since it doesn't benefit the country, but only one party.

I watched Pierre's interview. So much of what he wants depends on local changes in regulations to build housing. In addition does he even have the time to move resources to help allies around the world while he is in a minority against two socialist parties and begging for towns to allow bulding. Are the NDP and liberals going to work with him? nah. What Pierre needs is a movement behind him and he knows it and he doesn't have one.
Lets face it, as in the UK the parliamentry system creates a permanant political class that cannot get things done. Also he is not going to restore rights. At this point in the US we dont need "new" canadians coming down here working and shipiing the money back home. We don't need a china infused wokistan to the north with an open border.
Again, I like Peirre , I just don't see the voters actually dellivering. We are not gonna hang on til Oct to negotiate trade. I think there is a good chance that the NDP will split and keep liberals in with a different leader just out of spite.
The US doesn't need to put up with it. As far as oil ? well you guys aren't sending it anyway and you aren't even suppying strategic partners like germany and japan because of climate nonsense.

Trump negotiates with brinkmanship and it's how he got things done in his first term. In his dealings with North Korea the whole world thought we were about to enter a nuclear apocalypse and then it was handshaking with peace for pretty much the rest of the administration. I wouldn't be too concerned with it, he's just twisting the family jewels to get a deal.

But he sees weakness and I pray Pierre contacts him, put out a branch, nothing belligerent of course, but give Trump SOMEONE to talk to, someone to stand up and represent the people that Trump and the rest of the world can respect. Once the new guy is in and Parliament is in session, Trump will have another meeting within a day or so after they're in sessin and describe how awful that guy was, just terrible. If Pierre is on the ball he will ask that leader in question period just how the conversation went, which will not be answered of course and Pollieve will come up with some jab and go back to remove the taxes and get rid of the red tape etc. Whoever gets elected is going to have a very uncomfortable few months as PM.

The trade deficit with Canada is mostly oil and natural gas - both which Canada sells as a large discount vs market prices. The products that Canada buys from the US are finished products (many from our raw materials sold at a discount). I do agree though that Canada needs to dramatically up its military spending and be self sufficient - its unacceptable that we count on the US to protect us while we act high and mighty about "free, paid for with ultra high taxes" health care.
